[TAB & CHORDS] Creep by Radiohead

A very simple 4 chord guide on how to play this iconic Radiohead song!

CHORD SETUP

We need chords!
This song uses a total of 4 chords.
We will also learn a new term if you don't know it already, arpeggio.
This just means picking single notes over a held chord, we will demonstrate in the next section!
But for now, store these chords, please!

4 - Cm (Yes, this has just 1 note of difference between C, but you'll agree while playing it makes a world of difference!)

HOW 2 ARPEGGIO

This is very simple and talking about it can make you sound like a bigbrain musichead to impress the baddie with all upgrades.
The intro for Creep uses a slightly staggered and patchy arpeggiation of the 4 chords we have listed, but I will show you a simple method to replicate it.
Bring up each chord and play this as follows on the keyboard

Q--W--E--W--E--R--E--R--Y--T--R--T----R--E----

This isn't 1:1 of how it's played on the record, but it's a good approximation.
Here is a video showing roughly what it should sound like!

The end of Chord 4 has a lil flourish on it, don't be afraid to exploring your options using arpeggios in OTHER SONGS!
Most songs that use chords will sound nice with some arpeggiation to make it sound fancier than people just strumming straight through.
But remember, sometimes less is more.

CHORD SEQUENCE

This is the simplest song yet.
The entire song literally goes

1 - 2 - 3 - 4

Without any variation, except knowing when to let a chord sit and breathe for a second, such as the end of a chorus.
Hence, the arpeggio method we talked about goes a long way in keeping the song from being too boring sounding on it's own.

I use a program called JoyToKey to map the up n down strum on a guitar hero controller to the QWERTY keys on my keyboard to produce a more consistent strumming effect.
You can set a delay between the keycommands to make it sound like youre really dragging a pick (or your mouse) through the strings.
This is also possible with other controllers too!
