By default, Arma Reforger downloads mods to your Documents folder on your C: drive, following this path: Documents\My Games\ArmaReforger\addons

I have a small C drive, only 120 gigs, and most of it is taken up by important programs. I sought a fix, but found that just like every other thing on the internet the only people explaining how to do something leave out key details that one can only know by having the 'tism, so I wrote this short guide to help you out.

1. Create a folder called addons on your perferred drive. for this guide, I've done so on the D drive.
2. Right Click Arma Reforger
3. Properties
4. Under "Launch Options" add the following

-addonDownloadDir D:\addons -addonsDir D:\addons

Thats literally it. If you already have those files on your C: drive, all you have to do to avoid redownloading is copy the files to the new addon folder you made in step one, then clear that folder out on your C: drive

I 've set up my computer as a development PC, I have to redirect installations from going into my OS NVMe Drive to my 2TB Dev SSD. I need a bigger drive

yeah, im wondering if maybe "-addonsDir D:\addons" is whats causing it. downloads happen in the DownloadDir of being D:\addons. which is the base file location, then it wants to stage them in a secondary addons folder within the addons maybe. hard to say for certain

Excellent. Once again, it's a sloppy fix but it works

i just moved all pre-existing mods into the addons folder that was made in my addons and it seemed to fix it, was just showing everything twice in the mod manager in game

I just wouldn't copy over the mods then s d just delete em

so, an issue ive run into after doing this is that my addons folder gets an addons folder created within it, causing all mods to be downloaded twice on my D drive, there a workaround for this or no?

any other fix? my friend has tried this but it still forces a new folder in the c drive

Just a mention if people make a custom name instead of addons for their folder, that folder name should not have a space in it's name or it won't work.
