Downgrade to 1.05 to enable mods, and disable minimap

Modding only works on an old version of the game; 1.05. So you need to downgrade. And how to disable minimap/hud.

Enable modding & disable minimap

Downgrade from 1.06 to 1.05:
-Open "run" (Win+R) and enter:
steam://open/console

-In the Steam console, enter:
download_depot 220240 220241 7362101836779063707

-Steam will download 11GBs. Hovor over taskbar steam icon to see when it stops downloading, then copy the files from here, into your main far cry folder:
Steam\steamapps\content\app_220240\depot_220241

-Now download Far Cry Mod Installer and mods will work now. To change fov higher than default, install Rakyat mod.


How to disable minimap & hud:
-Open this file in a hex editor: Far cry 3 > bin > FC3.dll

-Open search. In options, switch search for "Unicode". Now search for Showuielement, and change it to Hideuielement. The uppercase is needed. Replace each letter at a time to keep the periods between letters. This disables the entire hud, including ammo/ prompts too. If anyone knows a way to only disable minimap, let me know.
