I am not a professional at Buckshot Roulette, nor do I think I ever will be. This guide is simply just a collection of techniques I use for when I play Buckshot Roulette that help me win. None of these guarantee a win.

These tips are also mostly written from knowledge of singleplayer games, but they should work relatively well in multiplayer games.

If you have found any errors with the guide leave them in the comment section.
Basic things to keep in mind
Keep track of lives and blanks
When the round starts, make sure you know how many lives and blanks there are. An easy way to keep track of them in a round is just saying the number of them. Instead of going "X blanks, X lives.", I use is a scoring system similar to sports like tennis or soccer, where I go "X-X". Let's say for example that there are 2 blanks and 4 lives. In my head, I would say "2-4", which means that there are 2 blanks and 4 lives. If a live round is shot or racked, that score changes to "2-3".

Inverters don't work the way you think they do
The inverter is one of the items that is quite difficult to understand, but when you actually understand how it works, it's as simple as a beer, if not simpler! If you do not know what the inverter generally does, it inverts the current shell in the shotgun to be the opposite. For example, if there is a live round, and you use the inverter, it changes to a blank. You may think "It's been changed into a blank, so it's going to count that blank off the score." This is unfortunately not the case. For example, if you inverted a live to a blank, it will still count the blank shell as a live shell that was shot/racked.
Make sure you're having fun
Having fun while playing Buckshot Roulette is the most important thing. If you are no longer having fun or are starting to get tired/bored of playing, don't feel like you have to stay in the game. Finish the round or what you're busy with and call it a day! Make your own strategies and ways to play the game.
Don't let them heal (if you can)
If you have an adrenaline, try to prioritise stealing any healing items (except for expired medicine) from the opponent. You may think, though, "But shouldn't I steal it when I really need it?" That's a valid thought, but think again. If the opponent has a good turn around and they have the upper hand after using a cigarette, it's game over. Try to do the same on your end, if they have an adrenaline and you have cigarettes, use the cigarettes, even if you don't need them.
Another important thing about healing in Buckshot Roulette is to try avoid the expired medicine at all costs. You may see your opponent use it and get lucky, but that does not guarantee you will get lucky as well. In most cases it is better and safer to not use the expired medicine.
Don't give them the upper hand
Having the upper hand in Buckshot Roulette is pretty important. Try to keep your turn for longer and try to stop the opponent from having any turns, or try to extend your turn as much as possible. If you have any items like handcuffs, beer, or a jammer if you're playing multiplayer, use them as soon as you can. If you do not have these items, but you have something like an inverter and you know it's a live round and that there will be a live round next, turn that current live round into a blank. By shooting yourself with the blank, it does tick off one of the live rounds, but if you instead just shot the opponent, the opponent will shoot you with a live round back. It is better to try and predict whether they will have the upper hand or not with your actions.
Try to predict their future actions
This ties in with the don't let them heal and have the upper hand tips. Try to predict what they will do with your knowledge on what items they have, the items you have and the current amount of lives and blanks.
Take your time and make a strategy
Don't feel super pressured to make a strategy (Unless you're playing multiplayer and your friends are yelling at you to hurry the ♥♥♥♥ up). Try to think about the amount of lives and blanks and the items that you and your opponent have. Make a strategy in your head based on these. Also think about what the opponent might do when it's their turn.
Use these as soon as you get them
If you want to extend your turn as much as possible, you should use these items as soon as you get them:
  • Beer
  • Burner phone
  • Handcuffs (If you are in singleplayer)
  • Jammer (If you are in multiplayer)
If the opponent has any of these items, and you have an adrenaline, steal it from them. If they have multiple, steal the one that will help the most.
Item guide
Adrenaline
Steal an item from the opponent and use it instantly.
Note: If you take too long the adrenaline will be wasted. You cannot steal adrenaline.

Beer
Rack the shotgun, ejecting the current shell.

Burner Phone
Know what type of shotgun shell there will be on a certain round.
Note: Is useless in rounds where there is only 1 live and 1 blank. If it is used in one of these rounds it says "HOW UNFORTUNATE..."

Cigarette Pack
Heal 1 charge.
Note: Can still be used at full health, but doesn't add an extra charge.

Expired Medicine
Take to have a 50% chance to gain 2 charges, and a 50% chance to lose 1.
Note: Better off not using as it can be fatal at 1 charge and could betray your plans.

Hand Saw
Shotgun deals damage of 2 charges if a live round is shot.
Note: Cannot be used again if shotgun is already sawed off.

Handcuffs
Locks the opponent from having their next turn.
Note: Only available in singleplayer. Cannot be used if the opponent already has handcuffs on.

Inverter
Swaps the current shell in the shotgun into the opposite form. For example, if a blank shell is in the shotgun and the inverter is used, it changes into a live round.
Note: Does not count the shell that was shot after using it. If a blank was turned into a live and it was shot/racked, it would still count a blank off the score.

Jammer
Skips a selected player's next turn.
Note: Only available in multiplayer.

Magnifying Glass
See the shell that is currently in the shotgun.

Remote
Swaps the turn order to be the opposite. If the turn order is currently clockwise and the remote is used, the turn order will be swapped to anti-clockwise.
Note: Only available in multiplayer. Useless in 2 player games.
Thanks for reading!
I hope this guide helped you! If you want to, like, favourite and/or award it! You don't have to if you don't want to, though. Have fun!
