Final Rush





Final Rush is the final level of Sonic Adventure 2's Hero Story and Sonic's final level! Grind on rails and run through broken pieces of highways as you traverse the underside of The ARK. Final Rush is also the mirror to Shadow's Final Chase and the site of the two hedgehog's final battle!

Basic Mode features a double platform layout complete with a working Grind Rail! Hold the Shield/Parry button to land on the rail and grind back and forth. You can also use the attack button to speed up or change directions, or let go of Shield at any time to drop off the rail!
Aether Mode features a no platform layout instead, turning the whole ground into a walk off like Sonic and Shadow's final fight. Be careful though, parts of the ground will fall off into space as players die, leaving only a small section left in the center!

Basic features a cameo from Big the Cat while Aether features Sonic and Shadow, which will be removed if one of the corresponding characters appear in the match. Can you spot them all?







Final Rush features ten different music options from across the series, ranging from The ARK's appearance in SA2, Shadow's game, both Sonic and Shadow Generations, and even the Sonic Symphony!

Tired of randomization and want to select the song yourself? Hold shield/parry and a direction on either stick or the keyboard during the match countdown! The available options change per mode and are as follows: (UP: 1/2, RIGHT: 3/6, DOWN: 4/7, LEFT: 5/8)

8/10, i think the stage feels too blended in with the background which makes it hard to see where the platform is. other than that, amazing stage bro you cooked

Yeah, I said Live & Learn because in my mind all SA2 stages had it, but it was just my mind. But yeah, the best option would SA2 Doesn't Matter, since is his theme. Althought for me Escape from the City is THE Sonic theme better than Doesn't Matter.

Thank you! The grind rail code, and therefore the momentum is all Bar, so I can't take credit.

As for City Escape, I'd probably go with the original, both gens remixes, the symphony version, the funk rmx (was uploaded to the sonic yt channel) and then possibly It Doesn't Matter? I treated Radical Highway like Shadow's stage and included some of his vocal themes, so doing the same with City Escape for Sonic feels fitting.

Now I' wondering, since you've made so many Sonic stages, specially from adventure 2, if you do a City Escape stage, the songs would be Escape from the city, Escape from the city (classic remix), Escape from the city (modern remix), Escape from the city (Sonic orchesta remix) and Live & Learn?

Final Rush is one of my favorite Sonic levels, and I like that has Final Chase Pillars too. I think would be cooler if the grinding was like way faster, like if you could grind from 1 platform to the other in like 1 second. That doesn't make the stage less cool, and 100% gonna play a lot in it.

Just pushed a patch out to fix it! I didn't realize Rivals had an update order for checking each player slot, which was only reading P1's inputs. Thank you for bringing it to my attention!

Was playing with a friend as P2, they can grind for like a short frame and then it just drops them. The rail seems to become an active platform while someone is grinding; P1 grinding allows P2-4 to stand on it and fall through once P1 stops grinding

@Dash oh? I'll look into it when I have the time but what exactly wasn't working?
