Method of storing money


money in Deadside will become virtual, no longer stored as a physical item in a slot. Your money will be stored instead on the game server, with your total displayed on the top right of your inventory. This means you can now buy items at a Roaming Trader without bringing the money. also removes the limit on money stacks, making storage much simpler overall.

For the longest time, Deadside had no options for transportation, until boats came out, but they were loud and slow and never easy to find.
Now getting around should be a lot faster and easier for players,
Cars - Can be found primarily in Kamensk, the North Island Military Base, and the new Airfield.
Motorcycles - can be found all over the map, typically in garages, or on the side of the road.



Updated Travel Points

This new system would use the new virtually stored money, to quickly travel across the map using an underground mining network. Each fast travel point is a small mini safezone, so that players aren’t killed while loading into the new area. You can think of these almost as an extraction zone, where you can pay money to quickly travel to the safezone traders. Here you can see a work in progress screenshot of the new map with this system, each fast travel point has been highlighted to make them easier to see:


New POI (expansion)

-New update opens a large area in the south east, also adds a new POI: Airfield, new towns, and more events in the southern areas of the map, (small areas building added throughout map/campsites/caves/more abandoned cars. also includes more vegetation in more areas)




New Items Introduced / Trader Progression

-Scrap Metal - an incredibly important resource at all levels of progression, required to level up traders, and to upgrade your base to the highest metal tier. Spawns in most areas across the map and can be found alone or by searching trash piles and other interact-able things, and will undoubtedly be fought over ;)
-Base Decorations - Provides a comfort level that gives your player a buff, higher levels have better benefits. Buff can be retained after leaving your base for a short time. These items include a ceiling lamp, rugs, chairs, deer/fish mounts, Interact-able Foosball table, A cooking Grill, and a generator that requires gas to power things such as lights and other future electrical. There is also a TV, radio, a new table saw and a new resource cabinet to upkeep your base!



A complete base building Re-haul



-Base Building 2.0 - Remodeled structures that can be upgraded to stronger materials, also added a layer of protection including bars, windows shutters, and barbed wire. Break base upkeep to change location
Improved Storage - Upgradable storage crates that can be upgraded to stronger materials, added a new craftable safe, vehicles can now be stored at bases. There will be a total of 6 different unique faction flags that can be used to put on a base, along with camo netting that can be placed on outside walls and in windows to hide your base. There is also new shelves to stack loot boxes.


-New automated Defense - to the left is the tier one turret, This turret can be made with a handful of shotgun parts, branches, and some rope (not final) . Its field of view is limited to the direction that the barrel is pointed, and fires when an unauthorized player steps into view. Electricity isn’t required to make this turret function. Below is a photo of what the higher tier Turrets will look like. These turrets can be hidden or placed in the open and require electricity.




There will also be a new camera system so you can check outside your base for potential door campers or raiders as seen below:


-Raiding 2.0 - Will feature 3 server raiding game modes: raiding enabled, raiding disabled, and raiding enabled on decay. There will also be more options for weapons used for raiding instead of only a c4, there will now be less powerful but still useful item: dynamite as well.
-Explosives will now have a blast radius and can destroy multiple walls or even collapse anything above the destroyed build.
-Crates will now drop items when destroyed!
-Small Chests can now be locked and upgraded, but can be disassembled if they are placed inside of your base claim area
-A garage can now be built to store cars and prevent them from despawning.




Other changes made

-can now take and claim other people's bases
-cut long barrel shotgun with asaw to make it small(can be placed in secondary slot)
-A new bleeding system
-foragable food items such as mushrooms growing around the bases of trees, bushes with nice berries, apples dropped from apple trees, and even leaves that you can craft into special tinctures!
-A new way to manage stats (Server KD ratio, Distance traveled, etc)
-Rebalanced the stack size of some items.
-Increased the consumption speed of food and water. (Thats sick asf)
-Wells no longer dry up, and will always be active
-Added music during gameplay!!!!!! (Thats also sick asf)
-Made the MG36 less effective
-Added Formalin(Formaldehyde) to campsites and buried caches, and is now used to craft some comfort items instead of being only used to craft a water collector :)
-Added a, wolf and deer heads, required to craft decorative stuffed trophy heads also a fishing mount
-Many various bug fixes and QoL improvements
-can hide small locked crates around map that can be destroyed
-Removed the weapon storage limit in backpacks, allowing you to carry as many weapons as you like. Does not apply to the M99, or craftable backpack
-Respawn System Rebalance - Removed town spawn points, raised the sleeping bag limit to 15, prevented sleeping bags from being placed inside of POIs, and removed the respawn beacon
-Trader Reputation Levels - Requires the player to collect and deliver scrap to the trader, in order to raise your reputation level, and unlock better gear for purchase. Has 4 levels total.
New mini bunkers - will be guarded by auto turrets, contains good loot.

Patch Notes:

Added Christmas/New Year decorations and a new seasonal item! Check out the Kamensk town square to find gifts under the tree!
Added seasonal items into lootable road bags
Added new and improved BB-19 model
Added the ability to transfer your sleeping bag to a Steam friend if they are logged into the same server
Sleeping bags are now twice as cheap, but have 50 HP instead of 100
Rebar can be recycled into scrap metal
Increased the activation chance of scrap piles
Reduced water consumption by 20%
Safezone traders can now buy your watches and cigarettes for reputation, and dogtags for money
Fixed the issue with the base lock where the code had to be entered after each death
Reduced vehicle noise, and adjusted vehicle noise at a distance.
Rebalanced the airdrop; can now drop seasonal items, dynamite sticks, laptops, and tinctures
Rebalanced the cost of base upgrades, nails and rebar are no longer required
Slowed down the decay rate of Plank and Metal base structures
Less planks are required for base upkeep
Notifications will now appear showing why a structure cannot be placed when building
Added new dynamite and explosive spawners. Check all road bags and car trunks carefully!
Plank and Metal base structures can no longer be damaged by melee and firearms. Only grenades, Dynamite, Explosive Charges, and the GRM-40 grenade launcher can deal damage
Reduced the HP of turrets in bunkers
Players who are not registered to a base will no longer be able to remove ammo from turrets
Removed building blockers from rivers
Reduced the cost of creating a base lock
Shotgun turrets now requires half the parts to produce
Changed the recipe for repairing decorative items; paint and duct tape are now required
Radio stations now require significantly fewer parts to craft
Restored the sound to the duck call
Changing your Steam nickname no longer logs un-authorizes your from a base
Fixed the issue where the water collector's current status was not displayed
Fixed missing hints in inventory
Fixed an issue where gates/shutters/doors submerged in the ground did not take damage from C4, dynamite, or grenades.
Structures constructed outside of the vault radius will display a decay warning when looked at
Shotguns are prohibited from dealing headshots if only one pellet hits the head. Now a pellet hit to the head will deal 25 damage. This will reduce the amount of lucky headshots from a distance.
Crafting more than one item at a time will now take the same amount of time as crafting just one item
Vehicles no longer deal collision damage to you for a full second after exiting them, preventing unnecessary accidental deaths
Straight Stairs no longer require branches for upkeep once upgraded to Plank or Metal.
Added sounds for ATM operations

Right click deadside in steam library and click properties


Now click "Betas" and change the option to public test server, Wait for the update to finish and enjoy the new Deadside :)

Haven’t tested, probably should have by now. But how many bases can a player have on a server since there isn’t technically land claim? Or is the cupboard the land claim now

quick question guys, does anyone know how wipe works? I play on a official server that says 3 week wipe, what sort of wipe I wonder, base only? everything?. Thanks in advance

@Reapergods666 use hammer and go up to tool cabinet where you store mats for upkeep. There should be an option to remove it,if not, you will need to destroy it, or take materials out and wait for the base to deteriorate . Its very similar to the game Rust now if you are familiar.
