How to change footage on TVs at the innards.

This is a quick and easy guide for those who want to change the display footage at their base.

Finding and replacing files

You can do this by navigating to location below.



C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Forever Winter\Windows\ForeverWinter\Content\Movies



Here you will find all the .mp4 files you need. These are the following monitors and where they are in your base.



MP_Vid_CityScan - This file runs on the two displays behind the vendor for managing the innards. There is a mega TV screen that hangs on the wall directly behind the vendor, as well as a smaller version to the right of it.

Vid_Square_ScanCyborgs - The two monitors located above the quest terminal. There is also a third monitor to the right of this entrance, just above the doorway leading to medical, and other vendors.

MP_Vid_GlitchTitleRed - Found at the Grillo vendor and at water supply management. Water location has a small monitor on the left, but directly in front of it there is a large screen you might not have noticed.


The small and mega tv screen are upgrades for the innards that can be purchased from the vendor.

The small TV Screen requires 5 days of water and costs 25k credits.
The mega TV Screen requires 8 days of water and 75k credits.



Simply move the desired video of your choosing to this folder and change the name to whichever video you want to replace. You can either delete that video, rename it, or move elsewhere on your PC if you'd like to save or edit.

Side Note

Moving over to the "Loading" folder located in the Movies folder you can actually access the loading screen .mp4s as well as the audio that plays with it. Replacing the audio files and videos might work, but I haven't played around with it. Let me know how you fare in the comments.

Yeah, I've had that happen a number of times randomly loading into the Innards, too. The static first frame of the video will appear on the monitors, but it won't start playing.

Only way I've been able to get around that is to quit to the main menu and try to load into the Innards again to start it.

If the first frame shows correctly on your Innard monitors, that tells me the replaced video was done correctly. It's just the game bugging itself and not playing the video, I think.

Changed height/width and the video shows up, but it is not playing, it is just a still frame sadly

Oh, I forgot there's a third video (at Grillo vendor). That one has a different size than the first two.

This does still work! But note that you have to edit the new mp4 to match the pixel dimensions of the old video. One is a standard 4:3 ratio (like 640x480 pixels), but the wider one is an odd size (1310x722 pixels, I think). Matching other elements of the video file, like bit rate or whatever, didn't seem to matter... just the correct size. The game won't auto-stretch an mp4 file that's close to the right dimensions. If your vids aren't working and have the correct file name, check the height/width.

Does this still work? I moved the 'MP_Vid_CityScan.mp4' and 'Vid_Square_ScanCyborgs.mp4' videos to a backup folder and replaced them with videos of Gundam Seed; but when I load up the game again, nothing has changed. I made sure to copy and paste the old names onto the new videos so I wouldn't make a typo.
