Lyall‘s Ultrawide patch for "Bramble The Mountain King" also works for Life is Strange: Double Exposure. The only caveat is that it skews photo's that Max takes. Either you deal with that fact, or a messed up FOV, until there's a proper fix.

Download and copy the contents to your game folder here:

...\Steam\steamapps\common\LifeIsStrangeDoubleExposure\Chronos
Obtain a Hex Editor program
Download and install a Hex Editor program. Something like HxD works fine.

https://mh-nexus.de/en/hxd
Open the executible
Run the Hex Editor program you chose, and open the following executable:

...\Steam\steamapps\common\LifeIsStrangeDoubleExposure\Chronos\Binaries\Win64\Chronos-Win64-Shipping.exe
Replace the hex values
Open the Search and Replace prompt (Ctrl + R with HxD)
Select the Hex-Values tab, and Search Direction All

Search for: 3B 8E E3 3F

Replace with (only select one):
8E E3 18 40 - 3440x1440
00 00 A0 3F - 1280x1024
CD CC CC 3F - 1440x900
26 B4 17 40 - 2560x1080
39 8E 63 40 - 3840x1080
9A 99 19 40 - 3840x1600
00 00 A0 3F - 4120x1024
39 8E 63 40 - 5160x1440
AE 47 A1 40 - 5292x1050
AB AA AA 40 - 7680x1440

There should be 9 entries replaced!
Disclaimer
Please note this does not work with the Main Menu and cinematics. Once you get control of Max, you'll have widescreen support. If it's anything like the previous games, they probably aren't going to include native widescreen support for the game.

There's also a FOV bug using this technique. I have yet to figure out how to fix it.

So much for adding useless accessibility settings but did not bother with Aspect Ratio. #ChokeDeck9CEO

@Icetice, there's no free variant. I was glad to play the 5€, but seeing that it breaks the photo taking is again is frustrating to say the least.

Regarding my last post: It works with the UE5 version of UUEU, but it also breaks the photo taking mechanic.

@Icetice when I try this, my game crashes just saying "Fatal Error". Any advice?

The fov doesnt change until you get to the turtle idk why. I am running 3440x1440 21:9 so I used "8E E3 18 40" instead of both "39 8E E3 3F" and "38 8E E3 3F" Ill post a screenshot or two of the increased FOV and no black bars in a bit just check my profile.

@Charl that doesn't seem to work for me. Are you running 21:9 or something else?
Also which values did you use to replace "39 8E E3 3F"? And does replacing "39 8E E3 3F" help with the black bars during cutscenes? Thanks :)

So far the only FOV fix i found was replacing the first instance of "35 FA 0E 3C" with whatever you want. For example "35 FA 60 3C" = 60 FOV. Still really zoomed in with anything cutscene like but walking around isn't so zoomed in anymore.
Also had to replace all instances of "39 8E E3 3F" to get black bars to go away.

Haven't figured out the FOV issue yet.

@TrollPlayer94
Before you enter 3B 8E E3 3F check if you are in the hexadecimal tab.

This methods works but like other says, there is a annoying major zoom.
