How to (potentially) avoid the Menu Screen soft-lock after picking up a collectible (PC)

Welp, you know the drill, folks. Day 1 bugs and all that. Sorry if this guide is a bit messy, I've never made one before.

How To Reproduce

This softlock is very common, reproducable, and consistently happens after hitting TAB to view your collectibles / totems. I don't know if this is affecting consoles. Generally, it seems to only happen if TAB is pushed after picking up a collectible / totem OR finishing a cutscene.

How To Avoid

Avoiding this soft-lock is actually fairly simple. Whenever you pick up a collectible / totem OR finish a cutscene (and would like to read or check out character relationship changes etc.), simply:

• Hit ESC to open the Pause Menu (Do NOT use TAB under any circumstance!)
  
• Select Statuses & Collectibles from the Pause Menu selection list
  
• Actually view your stuff without getting softlocked (wow!)
  
• Profit

Not the most gracious way of going about it, but at least you won't have to ALT+F4 and restart your game.

That's very cool! I Alt-F4ed like 6 times playing that in the wee hours of this morning lmao. I saw that there's an update so hopefully that's fixed but you know probably not.

Here is a method to get out if you are already bugged. Hit shift+tab twice to open and close steam overaly. That should resume the game, but everything will be black. Than hit escape to pause the game. After that scroll down to the bottom with the arrow keys, and hit enter twice to save and quit. Than you will have your position saved and you will be in the main menu, and also un-bugged.
