Devilition Cherry Guide
By chocolatecake5000
Devilition is a really fun strategy game in UFO 50. It's one of my favorites and this guide will tell you how to cherry it.

Enemy types
The red demons have 1 hp and are kind of the basic goomba type enemies of this game.
The purple helmet demons have 2 hp and don't regen if you take multiple rounds to KO them.
The purple floating demons have 2 hp and will regen to full health if you only take them down to one at the end of the round.
The dragon boss has 10 hp and must be killed in one round or else you insta-lose.
Dragon Tips
The dragon boss itself is a 2x2 square. Fork demons and alchemy stations/rockets are really good at doing 2 damage at once. In my clear vid I overkill it but you could probably eek out extra points if you get an exact kill since you get bonus points per unused piece. Orange frogs are really good here since they can do damage from a distance. Cannons are super solid too if you can get them in a good spot. The most important thing to remember is not to close off your loop early in the chain, you can't always rely on getting a late alchemy lab to save yourself. Remember if you can't kill in one turn it's an insta-lose so take your time on this round especially.
Piece guides
1. Bomb: This is arguably the best piece, it gives you a lot of space of firepower and is a great piece to start your chain with.
2. Cannon: Another really good piece to start with, it shoots a whole straight line all accross the board. If you get one of these late in a round it's nice to save it as an easy start for the next round.
3. Rocket/Target: these are really nice, they let you take your chain all the way accross the map, or you can just use it to get rid of a couple demons in no mans land. It's important to remember that you have to trigger the rocket not the target.
4. Plus imp: these guys are pretty classic and one of the most common pieces. Really solid for keeping chains going.
5. Cross imp: a little trickier than plus imps, they can be good for hitting demons while dodging villagers.
6. Snake: You might think this unit is bad because it only spits in 2 directions which is worse than plus imp but it actually can save villagers if they are right next to a demon (you can angle it away from them).
7. Strawman: These guys are pretty amazing, they attack 3 tiles in front of them and are really versatile.
8. Toad: My favorite little guys, they have the best range of the basic units, they are like a double range version of the plus imps. They can be tricky to use at first but they are great at extending your range for far away enemies or getting an extra hit in on a purple demon.
General Tips
1. Always try to remember what you want your starting piece to be as all other ones must be connected.
2. Pieces stay between rounds.
3. Leave yourself some room so you don't accidentally block yourself from continuing the chain.
4. For the cherry condition you ideally want to end each round will all demons cleared, this lets you get a villager for extra points.
5. Try to not hit villagers as they only get scored at the very end.
6. If you have more or equal amount of villagers and demons you can get playing otherwise you game over.
7. Check before you start your reaction that all pieces are connected.
8. You get bonus points for ending the round without using all your pieces, for cherry it's better to go for villagers (all demons cleared) over this, but if you get the chance it can be a nice point boost to save pieces + get a villager.
9. If you're stuck with pieces you can't use (like in my clear video when I got 3 toads) you can just throw one on the side to try to get something better, just remember to check how many pieces you have left.
10. Have fun, I hope this guide helped you. Devilition is one of my favorites and it's just so fun to get that perfect run.
