Dark Angels 3rd Battle Company Markings Guide

A brief tutorial on how to make a lore accurate Dark Angels Tactical marine of the 3rd Battle Company.

Heraldry Path

Firstly, enter the armourium. For this example we will use the Tactical marine for reference, but these markings should be compatible with the other classes as well. Open the Heraldry menu and purchase the Dark Angels Heraldry to receive the colour Caliban Green and the Veteran Icon.


The Veteran Icon will be used in place of the Squad Marking as the Dark Angels use Arabic numerals instead of Roman ones, and the only option for this in-game at the time I am writing this bears the flame of the Salamanders chapter. Of course, once you unlock decorated pauldrons at the higher tiers this won't really be an issue anymore.

Next, purchase the first and second tiers of the Novamarines heraldry, giving you access to the colour Ushabti Bone. This will be used to colour the Imperialis, which is the winged skull icon worn on the chest of most Space Marines, and not to be confused with the double-headed Aquilla.


Finally, purchase the first three tiers of the Blood Ravens heraldry. The third option, being a diagonal stripe, is applied to the left knee and coloured red, marking the marine as a member of the Third Company Battleline.


The final result should look something like this:


Note: When applied to the Imperialis in this game Ushabti Bone appears more metallic than it should. If this bothers you, it is possible to substitute it with the colour Wraithbone, which can be obtained from the second tier of the Taurans heraldry.
