Features

  • Rolling-release model of content delivery (you get updates frequently and regularly, staying fresh).
  • Extra fixes and add-ons (15+) and game improvements (which will be not present in official Updated Classic).
  • You can fork it yourself and use for your own mod (just like with a regular modpack).
  • The modpack attempts to be as vanilla- and lore-friendly as possible we disable things that don't fit the original game.
  • No unnecessary mod branding, we respect original developers and try to do things only in their style.

Installation
Copy and replace the files in the root folder with the original Grand Theft Auto game's copy.
Purpose: Distribution of fixes made within the framework of the assembly for the possibility of use by others in their developments with the indication of authorship of the developers.
Tips
  • To enable addons, go to /modloader/addons/ folder and copy/move the addon you want to use to the /modloader folder. Or activate all addons by deleting the “addons” line from /modloader/modloader.ini

Outdated

Rolling-release - you receiving the updates in the time of their creation/implevementation
Rolling-stable - same as just rolling, but it's base is stable and you can receive updates or in stable (major-releases) or in rolling models (github)
Slow-rolling - you receiving updates rarely but regularly
Stable - you receiving only major updates very rarely, it takes for months
Outdated - the modpack is not receiving any new updates since couple of years
Philosophy
Basically we adopt the principles and ideas that were put into Updated Classic we agree in the following:
- We stick to the fact that the PS2/Xbox versions are the most important and basic, the most canonical ones.
- We should fix bugs that were added when the games were ported.
- We can fix some illogical things that could have been done in the game (like the color of Emmett's shirt).

But in recent years the ideas of Updated Classic have been changed a bit and we don't agree with this new policy:
- Adding things that seem logical but are added for no drastic reason, like lots of different objects on the map (mailboxes, barriers, etc)
Answer: all non-canon compliant things will be cut and included as add-ons, not the main part of the game.
- Adding things from pre-release/beta/alpha versions of the game.
Answer: we have to consider each case separately, but content that is beta should go into a separate add-on and not the main game otherwise we violate its originality.
- Making changes to the range of drawing, high resource consumption and lack of optimization.
Answer: the original San Andreas was designed to use 50-70MB of RAM on the PC version, the current Updated Classic consumes about 300-500MB and this number grows as the game session, we do not consider this normal and want to make more effort to get a better picture with minimal resources. We don't want to make another "Definitive Edition", but a PC port that Rockstar could make themselves.

There are things that we allow and it certainly breaks the rules a bit but we think the benefits are greater than the problems that break canonicity:
- We allow ourselves to use textures that won't 100% match the original visuals, we allow 80-90% until we find a better replacement, but we believe that texture quality (resolution) is more important than 100% compliance (but we try to do it with the utmost care).
We are allowed to add more addons that will slightly change the gameplay in things that can be useful
Example: fast dressing or running in interiors is a thing that can annoy and slow players down, so through the addon you can turn it off optionally.
Outro
(This guide) represents the latest version (edge) of the Updated Classic builds as a set of files placed in modloader, instead of downloading the full build now you only need to download the archive with patches. I think the problem with the Updated Classic builds was that it couldn't be distributed as a modpack and forced you to download the whole game (i.e. violating the license, I want to solve this problem by letting you use your copy of the game.)

If you are willing and ready to contribute, join our Discord server[discord.gg]. We welcome any ideas and suggestions if they meet the terms of adding new changes.

@Chuken We didn't know you were a mod developer and we add all authors to a special credits.txt list on github, the files were used from the San Andreas Beta Edition mod and haven't even been published yet, so we can add you to authors.

So you're reporting nothing? These changes have not been published yet and were intentionally delayed to gather all the necessary data for publication
