Turmoil - Deeper Underground Achievements Guide

In this guide I will go over how to get all the new achievements and the new mechanics of this DLC.

The new Achievements

Boom, boom, boom, boom!!

Blow up hard rock with a dynamite.

Once you stumble upon hard rock you will get 3 free sticks of dynamite from Dynamite Dale, just use them to blow up some hard rock in your next dig in the campaign or Deep Mode to get this achievement.

Btw, you can always buy more later on in the saloon, altough I believe I only needed to do so like two more times on my first playthrough.

Ruby ruby ruby ruby!

Get a ruby.

Once Lady Boyd arrives in town you can play Deep Mode where you'll try to reach a depth of 1000 meters and on your way will find lots of water pockets - but also rubies. Just send down a mole to bring them up, make sure that you already bought the mole upgrade from Edward beforehand though.

The achievement name is a reference to the song Ruby by the Kaiser Chiefs btw.

Truly, Madly, Deeply

Reach a depth of 1000 meters in Deep Mode.

This achievement is supposed to pop once you reach 1000 meters in Deep Mode, altough when I first played the new DLC I already got it after 100 meters, so this one might still be easier to get before the next update.

Chasing Waterfalls

Do a water map research.

After draining the first few spots of land from their oil (and water) Yvonne will offer you to do some Water Research for you. On the map she will drill for water and tell you which of up to three plots will have most of it. Once you do so, you'll get the achievement.

This is very useful later on, when you need to generate more petrol and are in need for more water. The best value are two drillings, cause you get one drilling for half the price and you can compare the water levels of those two plots.

Gasolina

Boost a refinery.

Once Fred offers you the upgrade to boost your refineries, just buy it to get the achievement. (Not sure if this is also a bug and it's actually supposed to pop once you boost a refinery in game)

Like with oil it's always a good idea to wait with selling your petrol until the petrol price is high enough, so once you notice the price going up to 3.00$ or 4.00$ start selling and boost your refinery to make even more petrol to sell for the peak price. Also make sure you have alot of horses at this point.

Know when to hold 'em

Win a game of Dice Dice Dice.

In the saloon you can play a game of Dice Dice Dice with Philip where you have up to three tries to roll 21 with the five dice in the shaker. After your first shake you can set aside up to four dice and try again to reach 21. Once you win your first game you will get the achievement.

I usually just rolled all of the dice three times and stopped shaking when Philip says "Stop the Shake".
This often worked, so it might just be the secret trick.
Also if your last roll ends up being a 20 or 22 you'll get your money back, isn't that a deal?

There's no more panic in this town

Beat the Deeper Underground campaign.

Just like in the main game and the "The Heat is on DLC" You'll get this achievement once you own more than 50% of the stock shares from the Mayor.

A good way to achieve this is to get the bonus for reaching 1000 meters in Deep Mode and to look at the amount of money everyone has before the auctions and then bidding slightly more than the highest amount.
You can also risk it and bid less than that, but especially when the stock shares get bigger it's better to be safe than sorry.

You're the Best

Beat the Deeper Underground campaign in expert mode.

Once you beat the campaign in expert mode you will get this achievement as well and most likely complete all the new achievements for this new DLC, congratulations!

Lisa is probably the best character to pick to get this achievement easily, since you don't need to get the "Larger Wagons" and the "Timer" upgrades right away which do cost quite a bit and not having to pay spilling fees is just the best ability still.
