I decided to tinker with Dreamcast emulation and play some of my old games that I replaced the music on ages ago. I recorded some stages that I didn't demonstrate for SF3:TS originally, plus a better match with Gill at the end.

I did try to crop the black borders of the screen off, and a little excess. I used Reshade to slightly soften the jagged pixels and add a very minor HDR saturation. Some minor emulation glitches do show themselves here. Flycast seems to be the best Dreamcast emulator these days. A couple fights weren't using the Start+L trick on boot to force 240p mode. I forgot about that mode. You might see Q has a little interlacing to his rush due to this. Unfortunately texture upscaling causes weird sparkling artifacts around the characters, so I didn't use it. Its a shame because it does do wonders, otherwise.

Street Fighter 3 3rd Strike: Accurate Mix - Dreamcast Music Replacement
July 21st, 2008
For the Sega Dreamcast console.

The most difficult music replacement project yet. For those who don't know, this game splits the stage music in three pieces each, one for each round of your typical "first to get two wins, wins" setup. Most individual tracks were 45-90 seconds long. This meant that I could either edit one long song into multiple chunks, or use multiple short songs. It took a lot of effort to find good loop points in these songs. Loop points were as important as ever with this game, do to the short lengths of the tracks. I'm very happy with the way they've turned out. I think the loop points are indistinguishable in most of these songs, just the way they should be.

Like before, I've done my best to select new music that matches the stages, while still having enough energy to fuel a fighting game. This is not meant to replace your original copy. It's meant to simply revive your interest in the game.

The game now uses the original GD-ROM's file order. This might improve load times and put less stress on the GD-ROM drive, however in this case Capcom didn't really use much of an order besides alphabetical. It may not actually improve anything in this instance, but it couldn't hurt to make this release more proper.
