Optimized Settings - Better framerate
By emi
Hey! Wanted to very briefly show the settings that are averaging me 50-60 fps even when getting swarmed.
IF YOU ARE ABLE TO GET BETTER PERFORMANCE BECAUSE OF THESE SETTINGS LET ME KNOW IN THE COMMENTS! :)
ALSO, IF YOU GET EVEN MORE PERFORMANCE TWEAKING THESE DEFINETLY LET ME KNOW LOL.

DISCLAIMER: these setting may not work best for you if you have a vastly different system than I do (RTX 3080Ti + i7 + 32 RAM// laptop though).

-------------- GENERAL --------------
Display Mode: FULLSCREEN
- Play with different Resolutions I switched from 2560x1440p to 1920x1080p and noticed significant stability

Render Resolution: NATIVE
- Play around with either Balanced to Ultra Performance depending on system.

Resolution Upscaling: FSR
- I've heard a few brothers saying they had better perfomance with FSR, I don't see any major difference but try it for yourself!

V-Sync: OFF

Motion Blur: Default / Off
- Preference

FPS Limit: Preference
- I wasn't able to go beyond 60 anyways so I did 60 lol

-------------- QUALITY --------------
Texture Filtering: HIGH
- You can even go Ultra without butchering performance

Texture Resolution: HIGH
- Looks great and didn't lose considerable performance, lower it if you do.

Shadows: MEDIUM
- Got like 6-8 extra FPS

Screen Space: BOTH OPTIONS OFF
- It looks so much better leaving them as DEFAULT but I did notice a good enough boost to keep them off.

Volumetrics: MEDIUM/LOW

Effects: HIGH
- Didn't even try other options. THIS GAME IS SUPPOSED TO BE BLOODY. (in all seriousness, LOW seems to be much better)

Details: MEDIUM
- Didn't see a major difference between LOW and MEDIUM.

Cloth Sim: LOW

FOR THE EMPEROR!

sys specs:
AMD Ryzen 3700X [no OC]
16GB DDR sys RAM
RTX 2070 6GB [latest drivers]
windows 11 [insider preview]
the game is installed on SSD
res 1080
using the HIGH Quality Preset setting. most are high or default and the biggest change i made was turning motion blur off.
use DLSS if you are using an RTX card (it just makes sense to use what was designed for the GPU)
i get a constant 60+ even in massive swarms.

not bragging, stating the obvious. use what works.

i use lossless scaling for frame gen, because the game runs pretty much stutter free it generates no annoying artifacts like some games do so i can easily hit 100-120 fps with my 3060 and i7 7700k

works great and hardly notice the downgrade

Tried them, my settings run better as they are. Which is cranked up and maxed out.

I've often had this with GPU. They like to be pushed, give it a soft push and they perform like crap, get them cranking and all of a sudden it's awesome.

yeah its crazy even on low it looks amazing. right now im trying native quality + fsr + everything else LOW and OFF.

a bit more stable.. but still not getting more than 60fps

I hope they'll do something about optimization, I feel no difference between Ultra and Low lol wtf? It's jumping around from 90 to 45-40 fps in hard scenes. i5 12400f RTX 4070 32 gb M2. I just wanted to play the foken game not the lagsdrome

Run it in 3xxxX2xxx on High settings with dynamic set and dlss, I've nit noticed any issues, but I just play don't worry about performance stats.
Did get a mad tip not so long ago, get steam to start in big screen when windows boots. Boot windows let it boot completely, it runs alot of system resources in background from initial boot, so do a Restart after first boot, apparently it doesn't reload all the stuff it does on first boot.
I've been doing this as practice and had little to no noticeable performance issues, even on the i5.
Only issue how the game crashes every time you quit out of it.

Bluriness comes from upscaling, not the motion blur. Unfortunately it's usually the case with DLSS/FSR.
Also, play with your native resolution, I noticed you are using 1080p on 1440p display.

all 3 options are very subtle and not that great. feel free to record a video showing a clear difference in performance.
