With new 1.6 update we got another processing tool at our disposal - dehydrator.

It is certainly handy to process overabundant crops, but not always. Which is why I came up with a formula that would challenge that obstacle. It takes into account the time the crops grow, their value, and processing time. It is also why my guide has underwent some changes in that regard.

Extended explanation is included in Dehydrator vs. Keg section.

Of course it it important to point out that everyone has their own playstyle that they prefer. People who store plenty of casks and kegs and do other things while the crops are being processed might want to age more wine. Meanwhile, players in the early-game or just preferring to cultivate bigger amount of crops over amount of machines might want to use dehydrators more. This guide is just a guideline on what to focus on.
The best crop throughout most seasons
The most profitable crop is Ancient Fruit. Technically Starfruit gives more money, however it takes 13 days to grow with a single harvest, while Ancient Fruit takes only 7 days to grow and has multiple harvests without a need to re-plant it, which gives us time and energy throughout the day to perform other profitable tasks, making it more worth than Starfruits that grow only during Summer, while Ancient Fruit grows in all the other seasons exluding Winter.

Dehydrator vs. Keg
Here is included the whole formula for determining which processing machine is most profitable for each fruit seperately.

F = base price of the fruit
G = regrow time in days (per single fruit)

Dehydrator (per fruit):
Value = 1.5F + 5
Machine time per fruit = 0.2 days
Wine (keg):
Value = 3F
Machine time per fruit = 6.25 days
Aged wine (keg + cask):
Value = 6F
Machine time per fruit = 62.25 days

Dehydrator vs. Keg

(1.5F + 5)/(G + 0.2) = 3F/(G + 6.25)

The value that is higher determines which method is more optimal.

Dehydrator vs. Aged Wine

(1.5F + 5)/(G + 0.2) = 6F/(G + 62.25)

The value that is higher determines which method is more optimal.
Annotations
*Excluding unprocessable crops, flowers and forage.
**Crops can be planted on Ginger Island all year long, but the conditions of planting them on the base farm might vary.

Why aren't you including artisan prices for wine? Those also sell for 40% more. Another thing is you keep putting dried fruit over wine as a better sell price but it takes FIVE fruit per product rather than one, meaning it's a worse value per fruit than anything else except low quality fruit.
