Fields of Mistria Bug Guide ⋆.˚🐞˚.⋆(With photos)

As of early access there are 68 bugs in the game, In this guide I will tell you where, and when they are found, and what they look like.

Getting your Net
Around your fourth day of starting your farm life in Fields of Mistria, you can find the 'Something's Bugging Me' side Quest at the Request board next to the general store in town. You will meet Luc at the Inn and he will give you your very own Worn Net.



Keep in mid you can upgrade your net at the Blacksmith but this is purely cosmetic!
Every Season
There are a total of seven Bugs that can spawn during any season.

  • Fuzzy Moth
    Weather: Sun/Wind
    Time: 8 p.m. – 2 a.m.
The rest of these Bugs can be found on the Beach at any time of the day and have no weather requirements:
  • Beach Hopper

  • Hermit Crab

  • Relic Crab

  • Sand Bug

  • Surf Beetle

  • Waterbug
Spring/Summer/Fall Bugs
There are 10 Bugs which can spawn at any time outside of Winter, and half of them have specific weather and time requirements.
  • Lightning Dragonfly-Found in the Narrows & Eastern Road-Raining-6 a.m. – 8 p.m.

  • Ant- Found all around Mistria, any weather any time

  • Bumblebee- Found all around Mistria-Sun/Wind-6 a.m. – 8 p.m.

  • Grasshopper- Found all around Mistria-Sun/Wind-6 a.m. – 8 p.m.

  • Hummingbird Hawk Moth-Found all around Mistria, any weather any time

  • Pond Skater- Found zooming around on ponds,any weather any time

  • Praying Mantis- Found all around Mistria-Sun/Wind- any time

  • Question Mark Butterfly- Found all around Mistria-Sun/Wind- any time

  • Redhead Worm-Found all around Mistria, mainly under rocks, any weather any time

  • Rhinoceros Beetle-Found all around Mistria, any weather-8 p.m. – 2 a.m.

Spring Bugs
There are eight Bugs that only spawn during Spring, and you’ll need to catch them all to hand in to the Museum.
  • Butterfly- Found all around Mistria-Sun/Wind-6 a.m. – 8 p.m.

  • Caterpillar-Found all around Mistria- Any weather any time

  • Ladybug-Found all around Mistria- Any weather any time

  • Luna Moth- Found all around Mistria-Sun/Wind-8 p.m. – 2 a.m.

  • Orchid Mantis-Found all around Mistria-Any weather-6 a.m. – 8 p.m.

  • Petalhopper-Found all around Mistria-Any weather-6 a.m. – 8 p.m.

  • Roly Poly-Found all around Mistria, mainly from breaking rocks- Any weather any time

  • Snail-Found all around Mistria- Any weather any time
Summer Bugs
There are seven Bugs that spawn specifically in the Summer.
  • Cicada-Found all around Mistria- Any weather any time


  • Cricket-Found all around Mistria-Any weather-8 p.m. – 2 a.m.


  • Dragonfly-Found all around Mistria-Sun/Rain-6 a.m. – 8 p.m.


  • Firefly-Found all around Mistria-Sun-8 p.m. – 2 a.m.


  • Jewel Beetle-Found all around Mistria-Any weather any time


  • Magma Beetle-Found all around Mistria-Any weather any time


  • Strawhopper-Found all around Mistria-Any weather any time
Fall Bugs
There are eight Bugs specific to the Fall. All but one Bug, Chillipede, are needed for the Museum.
  • Chiilipede-Found all over Mistria- Any weather any time

  • Cicada Nymph-Found all over Mistria- Any weather-8 p.m. – 2 a.m.

  • Inchworm-Found all over Mistria- Any weather any time

  • Leafhopper-Found all over Mistria- Any weather any time

  • Mistmoth-Found all over Mistria-Sun/Wind-8 p.m. – 2 a.m.

  • Monarch Butterfly-Found all over Mistria-Sun/Wind-6 a.m. – 8 p.m.

  • Tiger Swallowtail Butterfly-Found all over Mistria-Sun/Wind-6 a.m. – 8 p.m.

  • Walking Leaf-Found all over Mistria-Any weather-6 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Winter Bugs
Winter also has eight Bugs which are specific spawns for the season. All but two of them, Polar Fly and Snug Bug, are required for the Museum.
  • Brightbulb Moth-Found all over Mistria-Sun/Wind-8 p.m. – 2 a.m.

  • Crystal Caterpillar-Found all over Mistria-Blizzard/Snow-Any time

  • Frost Flutter Butterfly-Found all over Mistria-Sun-6 a.m. – 8 pm.

  • Icehopper-Found all over Mistria-Any weather any time

  • Polar Fly-Found all over Mistria-Sun-Any time

  • Snug Bug-Found all over Mistria-Any weather any time

  • Walking Stick-Found all over Mistria-Sun-Any time

  • Winterpillar-Found all over Mistria-Sun-Any time
Bugs in the Mines
Upper Mines (Floors 1 – 20)
  • Copper Nugget Beetle-Breaking Copper nodes

  • Lantern Moth-Found near fire lanterns

  • Mine Cricket- Wandering around

  • Worm-Breaking rocks

  • Tunnel Millipede-Breaking rocks
Tide Caverns (Floors 21 – 40)
All of these bugs tend to be wandering around, but you can
increase their spawn rate by breaking rocks and boxes

  • Coral Mantis

  • Hermit Snail

  • Puddle Spider

  • Sea Scarab

  • Waterfly
Deep Earth (Floors 41 – 60)
  • Crystal Wing Moth-Wandering around

  • Crystalline Cricket-Wandering around

  • Deep Earthworm-Breaking rocks

  • Gem Shard Caterpillar-Breaking rocks

  • Rock Roach-Breaking rocks
Legendary Bugs
As with Legendary Fish, there is a specific Legendary Bug which spawns in each season.
Leaving and re-entering an area, either through moving to a different map or entering and exiting a building, will reset the Bugs in an area.
Speedy Snail
  • Spring, Summer, Fall
  • Weather: Any
  • Time: Any
  • Location: Anywhere around Mistria
Flower Crown Beetle
  • Spring
  • Weather: Sun/Wind
  • Time: Daytime (6 a.m. – 8 p.m.)
  • Location: Anywhere around Mistria, but more common on Sweetwater Farm and The Narrows
Strobe Firefly
  • Summer
  • Weather: Sun
  • Time: Night (8 p.m. – 2 a.m.)
  • Location: Anywhere around Mistria, more common on the Eastern Road and The Narrows
Fairy Bee
  • Fall
  • Weather: Sun/Wind
  • Time: Morning (6 a.m. – 12 p.m.)
  • Location: Anywhere around Mistria, more common in The Narrows
Snowball Beetle
  • Winter
  • Weather: Blizzard/Storm
  • Time: Any
  • Location: All over Mistria, can be seen rolling a small Snowball

After testing a whole day a few times i can add that WORM and TUNNEL MILLIPEDE in the upper mines DO NOT spawn in a thunderstorm, hopes it helps (at this point i think it might be for other critters not spawning despite the "all weathers" ).

College and work are kicking my butt. I'll update Mistria guides over spring break if they need too :brownchicken: Enjoy the update everyone! Also I feel the pain of not being able to find the legendary bugs. When the game came out I had to wait for people to find them to update my guide :tobdog:

ty for the guide it helps me a lot! btw i got 3 (1 museum + 2 extras) each of snowball beetle and speedy snail in my farm, yet i cant get the other legendary life is so sad

Can't find the legendary Fairy Bee - I'm beginning to doubt it being in MY game. I'm looking everywhere all over the friggin land every fall morning except on days it rains.

It's my second year and I just can't find the luna moth in spring, I'm desperate, it's suppose to be a "common" bug, so where is it ? :stuffedbutterfly:

About the Luna Moth; you can find it anywhere around around town too, not just The Narrows :luv:
