New Haven 4400-Series 'Washboard' EMU

Modernize your fleet with the New Haven Washboard EMUs!

In the early 1950's, the New York, New Haven & Hartford Railroad was looking for some new commuter equipment to modernize their trains running between the namesake cities of the railroad. Their solution came from Pullman-Standard: the 4400-series electric multiple unit! This unit featured a modern, sleek streamlined look, featuring heavy use of stainless steel fluting on the sides; commuters likened this to a old-fashioned washboard, and thus the units were nicknamed 'The Washboards.' These units entered service in 1954, and served a long career with the New Haven, being passed on to Penn Central and subsequently Metro North, until being retired in 1986.

Variants included are:
New Haven Green (1954)
McGinnis (1955)
Penn Central (1968)

Combine and coach variants are included for all railroads.

Thank you for this wonderful add-on! I can't wait for more American rolling stock to enter the workshop! I would REALLY like to see the Stadler FLIRT US or Stadler KISS US enter the collection to have some modern MU's in an American playthrough/map.
