List of Scares in Haunted House Level

A list of the spooks in the mission "Short Circuit", for my fellow wimps.

List of Spooks

THERE ARE NO JUMPSCARES, AND NOTHING WILL JUMP OUT AT YOU.
YOU ARE ALONE AND SAFE.

• When you enter the house/level, a basketball will bounce down the stairs. This is scripted, and nothing to worry about.
  
• In each room (including the hallway) there will be a wireless speaker playing some creepy noises in the corners. These are evidence and will need to be collected anyway, so I'd recommend finding and picking these up first to minimise the spooks.
  
• In the main dining area, there is a roomba drawing a pentagram. Punch it to break it.
  
• The mother of the family is dead in this room. When you pull the knife out, the physics will make the body jump a bit. This is just ragdoll physics - don't panic.
  
• The window in the main room is open a crack, which you can close. However, if you leave the room and re-enter, it'll be open again when you return. Just a lil spook, but nothing will happen.
  
• In the living room, the TV will play a video of the family cat, and will cut out when you leave and go to static. Don't worry.
  
• Upstairs there's a flickering light in the furthest room - this is chill. Inside, however, will be prop mannequin parts, including a severed arm under a table. It's just a prop. There will be a freaky mannequin head with glowing red eyes in there too, which I swear teleported onto the table when I wasn't looking. It's, again, just a prop and probably the freakiest thing in the level.
  
• In the first room to the left when upstairs, a bottle of wine will fall off a shelf when you open the door. It's the closest to a jumpscare in the level.

In preparation for the level, I'd recommend using your skill points to get the 360 lights, preferably 2 of them, so you can light up the dark rooms and make it a little less creepy.

I've probably missed a few minor spooks, which I hope people will add.

But, yeah, as a criminally over-dramatic scaredycat, the haunted house level is very creepy and is the only mission I didn't get a perfect score because my nerves were shot and I missed 2% of rubbish. However, it's manageable, and you'll be fine.

- IntrovertedNeko: After interacting with the secret on the second floor, some bloodied paw prints would also appear on the ceiling and by the vent near the room with the creepy mannequins.
- beckyboo4245 & Alpha_VampWolf: When leaving the living room for the first time, a wine bottle will fall and shatter, followed by a bunch of paw prints appearing all over the room and messing up the paintings.
- lastlonghorn: When first entering the master bedroom, paw prints will appear coming up the dresser and a vase will be knocked off said dresser right as you open the door.
- Jen_Rox: After you cleaned the whole kitchen/dining room, you can still see the gruesome scene in the reflection of the kitchen cabinet
- Bulldog775: after interacting with the loot in the secret on the second floor, the face of the painting will disappear and you will hear footsteps quickly approaching from behind you. As the author noted before, nothing else is with you its just creepy.

idk if anyone said it, but the second room on the right has a laptop, and i think at some point the text "i'm watching you" appeared on it, idk what triggered it, maybe checking the CCTV footage did

I, too, played this level with my headphones resting safely on the desk. No sound for me, thank you. Even after playing it once and knowing there was nothing there, I still played with headphones off because I was over-analyzing every sound I heard. Too spoopy for me.

The museum level also isn't great and got my heart rate up in one particular room, but it wasn't as bad as the non-stop scares from this one.

hated that mission... i played with no sound on and with a yt video in the background because everything was so creepy. i need to replay it to get the perfect score but i so don't want to ugh

i hate the mannequin so much the part where it randomly showed up with red eyes on the second floor actually sent chills down my spine AND the mannequin staying in the basement office too literally every time i come down i would brace myself in case it moved positions

i think everyone got most of the scares but i wanted to add - after you get home from this mission, your apartment is changed! the night of, the lights flicker as you walk past. theres a picture of the cat in the hutch by the kitchen now, theres a mannequin hiding in the dark by your computer, and the logo in the background of your computer has changed. minor stuff but could still freak some folks out :-)

tysm for this guide! fr, take the advice of other folks and play music on the ipad and maybe watch a video while you clean this one if youre a scaredy cat like me!
