Closer the Distance Achievement Guide

This guide will help you to obtain all achievements in the game.

Introduction

Most achievements are self-explanatory and quest-based. They are usually obtained after you finish each quest. Your choice shouldn't matter to most quest, except the one listed in the Remember Achievements. The optional achievements are all missables, but you can load your save from specific days to get them quickly.

Serious talk
Talk about death with Bodhi


In the third day, Gayla will be tasked to talk to Leigh and Bodhi. Talk to Bodhi.

Holy smoke
Give someone peace


In the third day, Conny will be tasked to make an incense. Burn it for anyone.

The sheep say hello
Make sure the flock is alright


When Axel was busy digging the grave, have Gayla help. He'll ask her to inspect the sheep feces. Do it and report to Axel.

Unforgiven
Let Pia forgive herself


In the fifth day, have Conny fix the broken wheel and tell Pia that she is the one who did it.

Below are the achievements you can obtain after the grave scene. Note that each night, you can choose from several white balls to remember. Each of them will grant one quest and achievement. These achievements are under Remember Achievements section.

A place for you and me
Make Leigh a present


As Gayla, talk to Bodhi to find out that Leigh has a dream. Ask Leigh about it and she'll dismiss it. Return to Bodhi to find out that she wants to make a board games bar. Find a house to make the bar (I chose the one in the far right), clean it, and show it to Leigh.

Doubts
Follow River’s doubts


Help River's dad, Jasper, with accounting. You can mostly help him at night. You'll find out that Angie has been taking pictures for the boathouse. Ask Bodhi to hack her laptop and search into it. Talk to Jasper afterwards.

My own eyes
Return what has been lost


Once Laul comes and gives Conny a camera, she'll ask to give it to the others. Give to either Galya, River, Zek, or Conny. You can give Conny the camera once the others' business have been mostly concluded.

Not a showboat
Finish what was started


Self-explanatory. Finish the boat. Keep Eli out of the way with River and have Zek or River help with the construction. When Melville slows down, have River ask for a day off. When he falls asleep in the campfire, have River wake him up. The rest shouldn't matter.

- Remember Achievements

These are the quests that you can get after the grave scene, which you unlock each night from remembering an event from the white balls. It's almost impossible to get them all in one playthrough, but you can prolong the quest by giving the camera to Conny after she's feeling down. You can give the camera to her after you make sure the other entangled persons have been mostly concluded.

You don't have to worry, though. You can choose to load from the previous day through the Profile menu. Just load from a few days prior instead of going straight to the early days because your save on the latter days will be gone if you do this.

I suggest to do After the rain after beating the game since it takes a lot of idle time and you need to pay attention to someone's movement as much as possible.

The Life We’ve Grown
Remind Axel of something forgotten


When Conny got a quest to find dad's favorite movie (Remember Dad's favorite TV show), ask Leigh about it, and watch the TV in her house. Thank her for the movie and wait for several days until she comes back and give you the special Christmas edition. Watch it with Axel, Conny's dad.

Reversion
Turn back time


When Conny got a quest to search for a time capsule (Remember when Bodhi being new in Yesterby), ask Bodhi and Eli about it. Afterwards, dig the time capsule and take it. Talk to Bodhi and ask him to put something in the capsule. Bury the capsule back.

Treasure at the end
Find a lost treasure


When Conny got a quest to chase a paper chase (Remember Dad's paperchase), finish it. The first is Bale of wool, the second is Rain barrel, and the last one is Canvas stand. Talk to your dad afterwards. After a few days, he'll put an envelope in Angie's room. The answers are Seal swing, Bridge, and Bench. Hug your dad afterwards.

The little things
Spread the loaf


When Conny got a quest about loaf letters (Remember Mom at Leigh's welcoming party), pick up the loafs in the drawer and put it around the house three times. All times, Axel, Conny's Dad, will take them. He'll eventually talk to Conny and construct the letter himself. Once Pia reads it, you'll get the achievement.

After the rain
Let Leigh take a sunbath


When Conny got a quest about Leigh doing sun bathing (Remember Leigh missing Bodhi), take a sunbath in a bench so that Leigh can see you. The most reliable one is in front of her house, although the second one might be a bit random. If she's visiting Axel, taking a sunbath near where the sheeps are work well, although she'll also visit the other sunbath spot randomly. Just track her movement and position Conny in a location where she is moving to. After the second time, wait for a few days and Leigh will take a sunbath herself. Note that you can only sunbath when it is not raining.

No longer alone
Become friends with Melville


When Conny get a quest to find Melville's friends (Remember Melville after Cemre died), wait on where he is several times until he talks to you. If he's doing his job in the boathouse, just wait there. If he's at home, just wait at the couch. You'll eventually get the achievement.
