Hi!

I'm back with another fishing guide...Because I mean, why not? This guide is complete for now! I will update the guide when the game changes :)

Tips and Tricks

• You can upgrade your fishing rod at the Smithy or just buy a better rod at the fishing shack on the beach. The upgrade allows you to cast your line further.
  
• Fishing itself is pretty simple: just throw your bobber close to the front of the fish. It will then start nipping at the bobber and as soon as the "!" appears, reel it in.
  
• Time of day has no effect on your catches.
  
• Location does have an impact, you can fish in rivers, ponds (look for reeds and lily pads), the ocean and the mine.
  
• You can throw your bobber right on top of the fish, it won't scare them away.
  
• If you exit and enter an area again, there will be a new batch of fish waiting for you! (will come in handy if you are trying to get a particular fish).
  
• Inventory full but feel like fishing? Go ahead, the fish will just drop on the ground, you can pick them up later.
  
• The fishing shack on the beach also sells seasonal fish, sometimes even bundle fish!
  
• Dive spots don't go away over time.
  
• Do not swim to close to a fish, they will disappear.
  
• Legendary fish will only appear when you reach tier 3 (see the upgrades section for more info). When you unlock the Legendary perk, you'll get a message during the beginning of an eligible day saying a Legendary fish is near.

Skill upgrades 🐲

Tier 1	Weedline Watcher	Fishing up Junk will become less likely.
Tier 1	Aquatic Antiquities	Aquatic Artifacts can sometimes be fished up.
Tier 1	Appealing Reeling	Fish will become attracted to your Bobber from a greater range.
Tier 1	Catch of the Day	Catching a Fish will sometimes refund the Stamina used.
Tier 2	School Crasher	Swimming into a Fish School will drop half its contained items without spending Stamina.
Tier 2	Lucky Haul	Catching a fish will sometimes drop double the amount
Tier 2	Perfect Catch	Uncommon and rare fish will become more common.
Tier 2	Unexpected Haul	Treasure Boxes will become more likely to appear when Fishing.
Tier 3	Full Class 1	Fish schools will all contain an additional Fish.
Tier 3	Legendary	Legendary fish can now appear when the season and weather conditions are right.
Tier 3	Treasure Trove	You can no longer catch Wooden Treasure Boxes, and you are more likely to catch a higher tier of Treasure Box.
Tier 3	Weedline Watcher 2	Fishing up Junk will become even less likely.

Hi zombie, I added an image to the Tips and Tricks section, hope it helps (had to incorporate the Giant in there myself haha). Medium and Large look very much alike but Large has a longer tail and medium is a bit rounder I think!

Love this chart. It's just detailed enough to be easy to compare to the in-game encyclopedia at a glance. Delighted to say I've also fished up the other two Legendaries and can give you their details!

Summer Legendary - Lightning Fish - "A legendary medium river fish found on stormy days in summer."

Autumn/Fall Legendary - Leaf Fish - "A legendary small river fish found on breezy falling leaf days in fall."
