Eventually money is no issue, but early game you wanna make the most yen possible from every race. Here's how.

Placing Bets

Always reject the first offer and give the maximum counter offer. The racer you called will reject and make their own counter offer.
Reject their counter offer, make another counter offer but 2 levels below max bet and you should be able to raise any race bet by at least 25% (only do this if you know you can win)
BE CAREFUL, REJECTING OFFERS OVER 1 MILLION YEN CAN RESULT IN AN INSTANT -500 REP LOSS.
