Method 1 - DNS

!!!DO NOT MAKE ANY ACTION WHILE GAME IS RUNNING — YOU GONNA GET HARDWARE BAN!!!

The latest 8.0.0 | Dungeons & Dragons update brought some changes to the backend of the game, the internals of AWS services were changed, in addition to this, the developers have added another server in Hong Kong (ap-east-1); In 2019 Behaviour Interactive moved to AWS GameLift[deadbydaylight.com], as you can find out from the new article[aws.amazon.com], Behavior Interactive had only nine servers around the world at the end of 2023:

• two in North America;
  
• one in South America;
  
• two in Europe;
  
• three in Asia;
  
• one in Australia;

Patch 8.5.0 | Mid-Chapter[forums.bhvr.com] brings another 4 new server locations:

• US East (Ohio)
  
• US West (N. California)
  
• Canada (Central)
  
• Europe (London)
  
• Asia (Mumbai)

So the relevant list of Dead by Daylight servers for early 2025 is:

• Asia: Singapore
  
• Asia: Tokyo
  
• Asia: Seoul
  
• Asia: Mumbai (added in January 2025 with 8.5.0 | Mid-Chapter)
  
• Asia: Hong Kong (added in June 2024 with 8.0.0 | Dungeons & Dragons)
  
• Australia: Sydney
  
• Europe: Frankfurt
  
• Europe: London (added in January 2025 with 8.5.0 | Mid-Chapter)
  
• Europe: Ireland
  
• North America: Canada (Central) (added in January 2025 with 8.5.0 | Mid-Chapter)
  
• North America: North Virginia
  
• North America: Oregon
  
• North America: Ohio (added in January 2025 with 8.5.0 | Mid-Chapter)
  
• North America: North California (added in January 2025 with 8.5.0 | Mid-Chapter)

Therefore, the previous method of blocking servers through GameLift AWS is no longer relevant, since GameLift in Asia works differently.. But the general principle remains the same. Since Windows HOSTS does not support regular expressions and wildcards, to block subdomains, you will have to install a custom DNS proxy server, such as Acrylic DNS Proxy.

Step 1.

Open home page of Acrylic DNS Proxy[mayakron.altervista.org]. Click Download Portable for Windows.

Unpack the contents of the archive into a new folder (create a new folder and name it AcrylicDNS). Open the file AcrylicHosts.txt and enter the following at the end:

All locations are blocked except:

• Europe (Frankfurt) eu-central-1

Note that this affects to EVERY GAME that uses Amazon GameLift. Also, you can manipulate the entries to choose servers by your own.

Step 2.

Run the AcrylicUI.exe file, select Actions -> Install Acrylic Service from the menu.
Then Actions -> Start Acrylic Service.

Then go to the connection and network settings via Win + R -> ncpa.cpl

Select your active connection -> Right click -> Connection settings -> Change IPv4 parameters -> preferred DNS settings -> enter 127.0.0.1 as shown below:

Step 3.

Then open the command line (Win + R -> cmd) and run the following command:

ipconfig /flushdns

!!! If you have previously added entries related to servers to Windows HOSTS, BE SURE TO DELETE THEM -> c:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts !!!

Now you can choose by your own where you wanna play. If you want to delete the Acrylic just do the same actions backwards.

Dude, he is russian and I chatted with him, eventhough ReShade is allowed by EAC, still, he misbehaved with ReShade settings (locked updating all files) and didn't updated ReShade for a long time, and when global patch released (the houndmaster update) he got banned due to old files that were blocked by old ReShade.

EAC/bhvr/etc has no clue on WinDivert or Proxy or VPN or anything else.

If you really wanna do your investigation — chat with that dude, and u'll see that he misbehaved with ReShade settings.

Amazing guide. When it was not working I contacted the author and he provided the best support possible. But unlike him I am dumb and my Hosts file was changed and I saved a Hosts.txt which made everything 10x harder.
