The Favorite Treats Compendium

The most efficient method to discover your dinosaurs' favorite treats with a helpful list of flavour combos attached!

Treat Discovery

Each adorable dinosaur you befriend in the game has one or more favorite treats. With 34 wild and ground crops in the game, it may seem at first like a daunting task, but in actuality, every dinosaur's favorite treat can be discovered in four tries or less!

All favorite treats are a combination of a dinosaur's primary treat flavor and a mystery, secondary flavor. Every crop has two flavors, so you only need four crops with different flavor combos to test your dino's personal palate.

Step 1: Find the primary treat flavor

You can quickly find this information by approaching the befriended dinosaur with the journal equipped or by opening their species' info page in the Dinosaurs tab of your Journal.

To use an example, let's say we're trying to figure out Twinkie the Velociraptor's favorite treat. If we approach her with the journal equipped or go to the Velociraptor page in our Journal, we'll find that Velociraptors LOVE spicy treats!

Note: Lucky the Parasaurolophus is the only instance of an individual dinosaur's treat flavor differing from the rest of their species. (She prefers Juicy, whereas other Parasaurolophuses prefer Crunchy.) She is truly special in every way!

Step 2: Find the secondary treat flavor

A crop's flavor profile will appear when you mouse over it in your inventory or ranch storage. You can also find every crop's flavor profile in the Plants tab of your Journal.

To find Twinkie's favorite treat, we'll need a spicy/crunchy treat (like garlic), a spicy/earthy treat (like spring onion), a spicy/fragrant treat (like ginger), and a spicy/juicy treat (like chili pepper). When we feed them to her, she'll let us know which she likes best!

Note: If your dinosaur is particularly rambunctious at home on your ranch, you can play "Yoohoo", then "Wait there" on your flute to keep them still for the taste-testing gamut.
