PEGGLE NIGHTS META GUIDE
Global tactics
Always aim for your objective.

Always shoot where there are the most orange blocks.
For example here. Keep shooting in the red area

It might seem obvious but always keep track of the green block and purple block.

Use bounces

Obviously again, but walls/neutral blocks and blue blocks can be really useful to reach hard orange blocks. Evaluate that and use it.

Do not forget to check the hole !

Always be careful of the hole’s position while shooting, try to evaluate where your ball is going to land to get your ball refunded.
Characters
This one might be the hardest to tell.

In order to understand the following tier list and which character to choose, we need to take a look at how the points work by shot.

Here are the basic, without fever, points value
Blue and Green blocks = 10
Orange blocks = 100
Purple block = 500

BUT IT CAN CHANGE

If you perform a long shot for example, the points you get on the block you hit will be doubled. So it all depends and The number of points you will gain in one shot depends on the "Fever Meter" bar on the right of your screen.

But the formula is the multiplication between the total of points added depending on what block you hit, times the number of blocks you hit.

For example :

Here, I got 10 blue, 4 orange, and the purple one.
So if i take the basic values of the blocks we have :

((10 x 10) + (4 x 100) + 500) x 15 = 15 000.

You can realize that having a free ball from points only is not that simple.

Keep in mind that 25k points in one shot = 1 free ball. And it stacks up if you put the ball in the hole.

Here is a tier list of what I think about the characters but there are some details to add.

A lot of characters are “viable”, but you can eliminate some :
Bjorn, Jimmy, Renfield, Kat Tut and Warren will give you nothing but fake hope. Do not play them.

Then in order from best to worst we have :
Marina, Cinder, Hu, Tula, Splork and Claude.

Marina will always be your top choice. You can not only have the biggest break range in the game (all the map), but a huge number of block destruction, and so -> more free balls.

In this game, more balls = more destruction = victory AND more points.

Marina having all the assets quoted before, you can EASILY reach 25k points (1 free ball) with her. (make sure to use the purple block in your shot).
Now if you want to switch on another character because you like the playstyle, it’s also possible. I would definitely recommend Cinder, since getting points is also easy. make sure to use the bouncing pad at the bottom to maximize your points and you should be able to do pretty much the same as Marina.

Another one is Hu. He is not my personal favorite but he is really nice in the endgame, since it’s easy to get the last orange blocks with the aim assist. I would prefer using Hu in quick play/challenge on certain maps, since your objective is to get a lot of blocks and not a lot of points.

Unlike Marina and Cinder, Hu is not a massive cleaner. You will be able to be precise but not maxing your points.

Getting in the lower tiers, Tula and Splork can be playable on certain maps in duel, depending on the situation you are in. they can clear a small area but i wouldn’t recommend playing them in challenge/quick play.
Map Types
Map types are complicated, and getting into this is optional, and purely competitive.

First of all. We are going to start on the basis that you play mainly Marina and Cinder, flex on Hu.

There are 4 map types : Closed, Edge open, Free fall and Up block.

Here are one main example for each type :

Closed :
Edge open :
Free fall :
Up block :

Closed and Up block maps are pretty similar. It just means that you cannot shoot the ball directly at the bottom if you don’t break any block. Considering this, Playing Cinder would be better. You can launch your fireball at the bottom and deal a lot of damage on every block in order to bounce back and do even more damage.

However, while playing Cinder, please avoid shooting your ball inside the zone marked in red. You will benefit from the bounces much more if you bounce it down and then on the side walls.

Then there is Free fall, and Edge open maps.

Marina will be better here. Because there are always less blocks in those maps, Marina will make you benefit from the wide range you can get in those kinds of maps, aim for the purple block to get a free ball easily, and score some points !

Hu can be picked in any map type if your objective is to be precise. Once again, Marina and Cinder should be your priority.

Thanks for reading and I hope you will have good night pegging activities !
