🚀 Overview

Aliens invaded and conquered our solar system. Those few earthlings that escaped have banded together on the cold edges of space, seeking to survive and exact revenge. There will be no quick victory, but day by day, zapped slug by zapped slug, hope survives.
Slipstream: Rogue Space is a multiplayer roguelike in which "streamers captain a massive starship [of up to 120 crew members] and viewers are the crew. Together they explore the galaxy, fight aliens, and operate the ship in real-time" in an effort to survive Rogue Space.
👥 Crew Members
There are currently 4 different classes available in Slipstream: Rogue Space:
💢 Artillery, 👊 Brawlers, 🔧 Mechanics, 🛡️ Shield Experts

Among these 4 classes there are currently 6 different character options:
🐻 Bear, 😼 Cat, 🐊 Croc, 🐹 Hamster, 🐙 Octopus, 🐢 Turtle

While all crew members can do everything (i.e., shoot, repair, shield), their effectiveness at each station varies by class. According to the developers, "each character is a different class with unique strengths and weaknesses. They all have a role to play, so just pick the one you like best. You'll unlock them all as you play, and you'll also earn XP to level them up and customize their skill trees."

You may unlock 1 character for FREE when playing for the first time.

After unlocking your first character, you may rescue the other crewmates using data keys (which can be purchased for real $ or earned while playing the game); each crewmate costs 20 data keys to unlock and has a variety of skins available to purchase (with data keys or premium credits).

💪 Crew Progression
Earning XP:
After each battle, all crew members aboard the ship will earn XP based on their performance in that battle. Between battles, crew members can also earn XP for depositing gems and repairing stations.

Levels:
The maximum level for each character is 30.

Skill Points:
Crew members earn 1 skill point each time they level up, and will have accumulated 29 skill points after reaching the maximum level (30). Skill points can be applied to boost any stat, allowing players to customize their crew builds; however, players should prioritize boosting the stats most relative to their character's function.

🚀 Stations
There are 3 different stations for your crew to interact with.

🔴 Weapon Station:
Weapon Stations are used to damage the enemy ship.

🔵 Shield Station:
Shield Stations are used to regenerate your personal shield and the shields of surrounding stations.

🟢 Medical Bay:
Med Bays are used to heal yourself during or after battle; each station can only heal 1 crew member at a time unless the captain purchases an upgrade during the run to heal multiple members simultaneously.

Note: if your character is knocked out you will be unable to use any stations other than a Med Bay (unless it is damaged/destroyed).
💎 Gems
Gems grant XP and are used to purchase upgrades for the ship.

Crew members collect and deposit gems into the forge, granting them XP.

Gem Values:
🟣 Purple Gems are worth 1.
🔴 Red Gems are worth 2.
🟡 Gold Gems are worth 5.

Gem Carrying Capacity:
Crew members can carry up to 2 gems at a time; however, the Captain may designate 1 crew member as the Supply Runner, allowing that shipmate to carry an additional gem (for a total of 3).

Ships start with 2 basic technology every run: Scan Booster and Fuel Compressor. Other technologies can be found and bought at shops during a run. Captains and First Mates can then use acquired gems at the Engineering Station to upgrade the ship's technologies.

Potential Upgrades:
Scan Booster, Fuel Compressor, Combat Drones, Disruptor Shield, Hull Drones, Ion Cannon, Jump Relays, Medbay Amplifier, Rocket Barrage, Salvage Harvester, Station Overcharge, Tractor Beam, Repair Nanobots
💥 Battle Info

The intensity and flow of the battle will depend on the enemy ship; however, generally crew members will behave as follows:

Artillery (aka "Gunners"):
To maximize their damage output, Artillery (i.e., cats) will flock to the Target Zone and sit at a Weapons Station.

Shield Experts:
Shield Experts (i.e., turtles) will often move to occupy a Shield Station within the Target Zone or a section being attacked by invaders (slugs).

Mechanics:
Sections that are highlighted in red (with or without the Target Zone icon) have damaged stations within them; Mechanics (i.e., hamsters and octopuses) will flock to these areas to speedily repair them (therefore reducing hull damage after each battle).

Brawlers (aka "Sluggers"):
Brawlers (i.e., bears and crocodiles) will flock to areas with invaders (slugs). In battles without slugs, Brawlers will sit at Weapons Stations (so long as they're unoccupied by Artillery).

There are 5 different slugs that may invade your ship during a battle.
