Kingdom Hearts 2 || [Complete Crafting/Materials + Ultima Weapon Guide]

This is a comprehensive guide detailing the way of getting the Ultima Weapon + all Synthesis materials in KH2 including Enemies and locations!

If you have never played this game or are just hunting for certain materials, this guide will show you how to get them all.

The search function of a browser may be used to find a specific material faster (Ctrl+F).

Before you start

This Synthesis Guide is only good for end game as heartless spawns change at different points in the story, you will have stronger magic and you will have access to multiple Lucky Lucky's which will make it easier to farm materials. (Enemies will still drop the same materials in early game)

Ultima Weapon Recipe

Before you start trying to get the Orichalcum + needed to craft the Ultima Weapon, you will need the recipe which is found in the pod room in Twilight Town.

Orichalcum +

Here all all 7 Orichalcum + locations.

(Get to it using the tram car). This is the area Sunset Terrace in Twilight Town where Roxas looks for the seven wonders.

100% Atlantica by completing all songs.

A chest in The World That Never Was.

At The Brink of Despair, Left of the bridge leading into the Castle.

Olympus Coliseum - Beat Goddess of Fate Cup.

(Must have beaten first Xemnas fight in The World That Never Was for cup to be available)

A chest in Space Paranoids.

You'll find a group of chests immediately before the MCP boss fight; one of the chests has an Orichalcum＋. (You unlock Space Paranoids second visit from completing every worlds second visit)

Turn in at least one of every synthesis item.

You have to leave and re enter to turn it in (try equip multiple Lucky Lucky's on Sora, Goofy and Donald and equip as many Lucky Rings as you can).

100% 100 Acre Wood

You need to complete the "Starry Hill" Part of 100 Acre Wood.

When you start to grind for synthesis materials you may realise that enemies wont respawn. To make them respawn you can either -

• Leave the world and re enter
  
• Die in a different room
  
  
  This is the list and it will appear in the same order in game, starting on left column going down. Cross reference this list with the one in your game and jump to the ones you need.
  
  
  
  Below you will find a list of all the synthesis materials along with their corresponding Heartless that drop them and a photo of their location for reference.
  

Draw/Lucky Rings + Lucky Lucky

A quality of life is optionally equipping multiple Lucky Rings along with the ability "Lucky Lucky" which can drastically increase your odds of enemies dropping rare items and materials.

To unlock the recipe for both rings you need to gather and solve the Duality puzzle.


The locations of these puzzle pieces are found in the following locations

• Atlantica, Undersea Courtyard (under a ledge left of the save point)
  
• Halloween Town, Hinterlands (behind the entrance to Christmas Town)
  
• Disney Castle, Gummi Hangar (above the archway, accessible with High Jump Lv3 or Aerial Dodge)
  
• Port Royal, Isla de Muerta Powder Store (in a nook behind explosives)
  
• Agrabah, Agrabah (above a stand by the entrance to the Palace Gates)
  
• Olympus Coliseum, Underworld Caverns Lost Road (right of the entrance to the Atrium)
  
• Hollow Bastion, Bailey (above the stairs)
  
• Halloween Town, Halloween Town Square (stand on the grate to be propelled upward)
  
• Timeless River, Pier (above a tree, accessible with High Jump Lv2)
  
• Olympus Coliseum, Underworld Caverns Lock (back of the room)
  
• Port Royal, Town (near the first set of explosives)
  
• Disney Castle, Courtyard (above a hedge by the hedge animal playing a trombone)

Now that you have the recipe, use the search bar to the right to find the materials you need.
(You must craft a Draw Ring to unlock the recipe for Lucky Rings)

You can get all Serenity items with 100% drop rate from Bulky Vendors

If a bulky vendor has spawned, this message will appear at the top of the screen and you will need to go and find it.

Tip - You can force spawn Bulky Vendors in the following locations by doing the following

• Go to the World Map
  
• Save the game and load it back
  
• Go to the Land of Dragons, land in the Bamboo Grove and make your way to the Checkpoint
  
• Walk back into the Encampment, Walk back into the Checkpoint, Walk back into the Encampment
  
• ALL Bulky Vendors in the other worlds have now respawned
  
• Go back to the world map and find them
  
• Rinse and repeat

Interact with the Carousel in Christmas Town infront of Santa's house.

Destroy the Armour Stand in Beast's Castle in The West Hall.

Break the Stalls in Agrabah in Bazaar.

Break the Lamps in Olympus Collesium through the giant blue door.

Walk near the Explosives and break them in Land of Dragons in Checkpoint.

Next you will need to walk up to it and perfom the Reaction Command at different health points to get different Serenity items

Can be farmed infinitely by killing Lingering Will in Disney Castle in the Hall of the Cornerstone.

(You can use the Fenrir Negative Combo cheese strat to EASILY defeat him).

Also found in a chest in the Cavern of Remembrance first room.

Can be farmed infinitely by killing Marluxia, Larxene, Vexen, Zexion, and Lexaeus in Radiant Garden in the Garden of Assemblage.

It is also obtainable once by

• Opening the chest in Radiant Garden in the Garden of Assemblage.
  
• Defeating the Absent Silhouette in Olympus Collesium in the Cave of the Dead.

Orichalcum

Can be farmed from Bulky Vendors with slightly better odds the more rare the capsule (Check Bulky Vendors Section).

It is also obtainable once from this chest in Land of Dragons behind the Emperor's Throne.

Now make sure you have an Energy Crystal to half the cost and go to a Moogle and craft the Ultima Weapon!

I'm not sure id say there is an "easiest" item that i'm aware of since usually by the time i'm at the end of the game i usually have enough materials to spam craft anything i could until i'm almost max, which i then go and look for items that i'm missing one material for and do that.

In my current playthrough i was able to craft multiple Save the Queens since i farmed the nobodies in The World That Never Was for Final Form, and Orichalcum is very easy to obtain with Bulky Vendors.
