Wayward spirits are ghosts you’ll find across the game. Helping them often involves solving puzzles, defeating enemies, or retrieving items. Completing these tasks rewards you with experience points, items, and sometimes rare resources.

General Tips:

Explore Thoroughly – Spirits can be found in various locations. Look for hidden paths and caves.

Listen and Observe – Spirits will appear as blue, ghostly figures and may call out to you.

Complete Favors – Spirits give specific tasks ("Favors") that range in difficulty.

Locations and Steps:

Midgard:

Favor: Unfinished Business – Help spirits in the Shores of Nine, Forgotten Caverns, and Iron Cove.

Lake of Nine:

Spirit 1: Near Mason’s Channel – Defeat enemies or find an item.

Spirit 2: Near Forgotten Caverns – Another task, often linked to nearby locations.

Alfheim:

Spirit Location: Near Light Elf Shore – A task tied to the area.

Helheim:

Spirit Location: Near Bridge of the Damned – Tasks often involve battling Hel-walkers or finding lost artifacts.

Muspelheim & Niflheim:

Fewer spirits, typically near combat trials or entry points.

Completing Favors:

How to Unlock:
Find and assist spirits in the Lake of Nine. Complete the tasks they give you to unlock this quest.

Starting the Quest:

Location: Travel to the Lake of Nine in Midgard, starting at Mason’s Channel.

Trigger: Speak to the first wayward spirit you encounter to begin the "Death Happened Here" Favor.

Steps to Complete the Quest:

Find the Spirits:

Spirit 1: Near Mason’s Channel – Defeat enemies or retrieve an item.

Spirit 2: Near Forgotten Caverns – Complete a different task, often involving local activities.

Spirit 3: Near Iron Cove – A task involving exploration or combat.

Complete the Tasks:

Defeat Enemies – Some tasks involve combat. Be prepared with upgraded gear.

Retrieve Items – Use the map to find specific items.

Solve Puzzles – Look for environmental clues and use Atreus’ help when needed.

Return to the Spirits: After completing each task, return to the spirit for your reward.

Additional Tips:

Explore Thoroughly – Tasks may lead to hidden areas and loot.

2. Side Quest Achievements 2:

• Trilingual

Learn the languages of Muspelheim and Niflheim.
To unlock the "Trilingual" achievement, you need to find and decode all language ciphers for Muspelheim and Niflheim. These ciphers are found in special chests scattered throughout the game.

Steps to Complete the Achievement:

• 1. Muspelheim Language Ciphers:

• Muspelheim Cipher Pieces:

There are four pieces of the Muspelheim cipher you need to find. These are located in special Nornir chests (large chests with runic seals) throughout Midgard.

• Locations:

1: The River Pass: Progress through the main story until you reach the Witch’s Cave. A cipher chest is located here.
2: The Cliffs of the Raven: Near the Lake of Nine, this area contains another cipher chest.
3: Forgotten Caverns: Explore this area near the Lake of Nine for another cipher chest.
4: Veithurgard: This area is accessible after you lower the water level in the Lake of Nine. Look for the cipher chest near the dragon encounter.
Unlocking Muspelheim: Once you have all four pieces, you will be able to read Muspelheim runes and access the realm of Muspelheim through the realm travel room.

• 2. Niflheim Language Ciphers:

Niflheim Cipher Pieces: Similar to the Muspelheim ciphers, you need to find four pieces of the Niflheim cipher. These are also located in Nornir chests.

• Locations:

1: Tyr’s Temple: As you progress through the story, you will find a cipher chest in Tyr’s Temple.
2: The Mountain: As you climb the mountain, you will come across another cipher chest.
3: Alfheim: When you travel to Alfheim as part of the main quest, there are cipher chests you can find in this realm.
4: Ruins of the Ancient: This area near the Lake of Nine also contains a Niflheim cipher chest.
Unlocking Niflheim: Once you have all four pieces, you will be able to read Niflheim runes and access the realm of Niflheim through the realm travel room.

• 3. Standard Norse Runes:

Reading Norse Runes: Throughout your journey, Atreus will automatically learn to read standard Norse runes as part of the main storyline. Ensure you interact with all lore markers and rune walls you encounter to fully develop his language skills.

Tips:

Explore Thoroughly: Always be on the lookout for Nornir chests while exploring. They are usually off the main path or behind puzzles.
Return Later: If you can’t access a chest on your first visit, make a note of its location and return later when you have the necessary abilities or items.
Use Map and Compass: Your map and compass can help you navigate to areas where you might find hidden chests.

• Achievement Unlock:

Once you have collected all eight cipher pieces (four for Muspelheim and four for Niflheim) and fully learned the Norse runes through the story progression, the "Trilingual" achievement will unlock.

2. Side Quest Achievements 3:

• Dwarven Ingenuity

Description: Upgrade a piece of armor.


1. Obtain Armor:

• Purchase or Find Armor:

Obtain a piece of armor you wish to upgrade. Armor can be purchased from Brok and Sindri, the dwarven blacksmiths, or found in chests and as rewards throughout the game.

• Types of Armor:

Focus on a single piece of armor—either chest, wrist, or waist armor.

2. Gather Resources:

• Hacksilver:

The main currency used for upgrades. Collect Hacksilver by exploring, opening chests, selling artifacts, and defeating enemies.

• Crafting Materials:

Different upgrades require various crafting materials. Common materials include:
Soft Svartalfheim Steel: Found in the early game, particularly in Midgard.
Hardened Svartalfheim Steel: Found later in the game and in more challenging areas.
Asgardian Steel, Aegir’s Gold, Pristine Dust, Pristine Ore, etc.: These are rare materials typically found in specific locations or by completing particular challenges and side quests.

3. Upgrade Armor:

• Visit Brok or Sindri:

Head to the nearest shop run by Brok or Sindri to upgrade your armor.

• Select Armor to Upgrade:

Choose the piece of armor you want to focus on and use the available resources to upgrade it.

• Repeat Upgrades:

Continue upgrading the same piece of armor. Each level requires more Hacksilver and rarer materials.

4. Find Specific Materials:

• Explore Thoroughly:

Fully explore each area, as materials are often hidden in chests or dropped by defeated enemies.

• Complete Side Quests and Challenges:

Engage in side quests, explore optional areas, and complete challenges (such as those found in Muspelheim and Niflheim) to acquire rare materials.

5. Maximize One Piece:

• Concentrate Resources:

Focus your resources on upgrading one piece of armor to its maximum level rather than spreading them across multiple pieces.

Tips:

• Resource Management:

Efficiently manage your resources. Prioritize the piece of armor you want to upgrade fully.

• Revisit Areas:

Some materials might only be accessible later in the game or after specific events, so revisiting areas can be beneficial.

• Use Atreus:

Don’t forget to upgrade Atreus’ equipment as well, as this can help you gather resources more effectively.

Achievement Unlock:
Once you fully upgrade one piece of armor to its maximum level, the "Dwarven Ingenuity" achievement will unlock.

3. Combat Achievements 1:

• The Best Moves

Fully upgrade a Runic Attack.
How to Unlock:

1. Acquire a Runic Attack:

• Find Runic Attacks:

Runic attacks can be found in legendary chests, as rewards from boss fights, or purchased from Brok and Sindri.

• Types of Runic Attacks:

There are Light Runic Attacks and Heavy Runic Attacks for both the Leviathan Axe and the Blades of Chaos. Choose one that suits your combat style.

2. Equip the Runic Attack:

• Access Menu:

Open the main menu, go to the Weapons tab, and select either the Leviathan Axe or the Blades of Chaos.

• Slot the Attack:

Slot your chosen runic attack into either the Light Runic Attack or Heavy Runic Attack slot.

3. Gather Resources:

• Experience Points (XP):

Earn XP by completing main quests, side quests (Favors), and defeating enemies. XP is required to upgrade runic attacks.

• Hacksilver:

Collect Hacksilver by exploring, opening chests, selling artifacts, and defeating enemies. It’s useful for buying runic attacks and other upgrades.

4. Upgrade the Runic Attack:

• Open the Weapons Menu:

Go back to the Weapons tab in the main menu.

• Select the Runic Attack:

Highlight the runic attack you want to upgrade.

• Upgrade Using XP:

Spend the required amount of XP to upgrade the runic attack. Each runic attack can be upgraded several times, with increasing XP costs at each level.

5. Max Out the Runic Attack:

• Upgrade to Maximum Level:

Continue upgrading the chosen runic attack until it reaches its maximum level. This typically requires several thousand XP.

• Monitor Progress:

You can check the level of your runic attack in the Weapons menu to ensure it has reached its highest level.

Tips:

• Prioritize XP:

Focus on earning and saving XP to upgrade your runic attack. Complete as many side activities as possible to maximize your XP gains.

• Choose Wisely:

Select a runic attack that you frequently use and find effective in combat. This ensures you get the most benefit from upgrading it.

• Balance Resources:

While focusing on upgrading your runic attack, remember to balance your resources to keep your overall equipment and skills upgraded.

Achievement Unlock:
Once you have fully upgraded one runic attack to its maximum level, "The Best Moves" achievement will unlock.

• Worthy

Fully upgrade the Leviathan Axe.
How to Unlock:
1. Acquire Frozen Flames:

• Frozen Flames:

These are rare items used to upgrade the Leviathan Axe. You will receive Frozen Flames as rewards for defeating specific bosses and completing key parts of the main storyline.

• Chilling Mist of Niflheim:

If you miss any Frozen Flames or need additional ones, you can obtain the Chilling Mist of Niflheim from the Niflheim realm, which can be traded for a Frozen Flame at Brok or Sindri's shop.
2. Upgrade at Dwarven Shops:

• Visit Brok or Sindri:

Go to any of the shops run by the dwarf brothers, Brok and Sindri, to upgrade your Leviathan Axe.

• Upgrade the Axe:

Use the Frozen Flames to upgrade the Leviathan Axe. Each upgrade increases the weapon's power and unlocks additional abilities.
3. Gather Resources:

• Hacksilver:

Collect Hacksilver by exploring, opening chests, selling artifacts, and defeating enemies. This currency is necessary for many upgrades and purchases.

• Experience Points (XP):

Earn XP by completing quests, side activities, and defeating enemies. XP is used to upgrade abilities and skills for Kratos and Atreus.
4. Fully Upgrade the Axe:

• Upgrade Steps:

There are several levels to upgrade the Leviathan Axe. Each level requires one Frozen Flame and a certain amount of Hacksilver.

• Check Progress:

You can check your weapon's current level and upgrade status in the Weapons tab of the main menu.
Tips:

• Progress through the Main Story:

Most of the Frozen Flames are obtained by progressing through the main story. Ensure you complete key story missions and defeat major bosses.

• Explore Thoroughly:

Exploring the world and completing side quests will help you find additional resources and Hacksilver needed for upgrades.

• Niflheim Exploration:

Spend time in the Niflheim realm to gather Mist Echoes and obtain the Chilling Mist of Niflheim if you need an additional Frozen Flame.
Achievement Unlock:
Once you have fully upgraded the Leviathan Axe to its maximum level, the "Worthy" achievement will unlock.

• Why Fight It?

Fully upgrade the Blades of Chaos.
How to Unlock: Free all three dragons: Fafnir, Otr, and Reginn.

1. Fafnir:

• Location:

Northri Stronghold.

• Task:

Destroy three shrines around Fafnir's area. Each shrine is guarded by enemies.

2. Otr:

• Location:

Veithurgard.

• Task:

Find and destroy three shrines around the dragon. Solve puzzles and defeat enemies to access them.

3. Reginn:

• Location:

Konunsgard.

• Task:

Destroy three shrines around Reginn. This area is unlocked later in the game, and completing the "Hail to the King" Favor is necessary.
General Tips:

• Explore Thoroughly:

Look for hidden paths and solve environmental puzzles to find all shrines.

• Upgrade Gear:

Make sure Kratos and Atreus are well-equipped to handle the enemies guarding each shrine.
Achievement Unlock:
Freeing all three dragons will unlock the "Why Fight It?" achievement.

3. Combat Achievements 2:

• Path of the Zealot

Obtain Traveler armor set.

1. Defeat Travelers:

• Encounter Travelers:

Travelers are heavily armored enemies encountered throughout Midgard and other realms. They are significantly tougher than regular enemies and require strategic combat to defeat.

• Collect Traveler's Armor Shards:

Upon defeating a Traveler, collect the Traveler’s Armor Shards and other materials they drop.
2. Collect Materials:

• Traveler’s Grisly Trophy:

This is a key crafting material dropped by Travelers.

• Hacksilver and Other Resources:

Gather sufficient Hacksilver and other necessary resources by exploring, opening chests, completing quests, and defeating enemies.
3. Craft Traveler Armor:

• Visit Brok or Sindri:

Head to one of the shops run by the dwarf brothers, Brok or Sindri.

• Craft Armor:

Use the Traveler’s Armor Shards, Grisly Trophy, Hacksilver, and other resources to craft a piece of the Traveler armor set. The set includes chest, wrist, and waist armor.
4. Upgrade the Armor:

• Gather Additional Materials:

Continue defeating Travelers and collecting more materials to upgrade the armor piece.

• Upgrade Steps:

Each piece of armor can be upgraded multiple times. Return to Brok or Sindri to use the materials and Hacksilver for upgrades.

• Maximize Armor Level:

Fully upgrade at least one piece of the Traveler armor set to its highest level.

Once you have fully upgraded one piece of Traveler armor to its maximum level, the "Path of the Zealot" achievement will unlock.

• Primordial

Obtain Ancient armor set.

1. Defeat Ancients:

• Encounter Ancients:

Ancients are large, rock-like enemies that you’ll encounter throughout the game. They are significantly tougher than regular enemies and have specific weak points.

• Collect Materials:

Upon defeating an Ancient, collect materials such as Ancient's Heart and Ancient's Rubble. These are essential for crafting and upgrading the Ancient armor set.
2. Collect Additional Materials:

• Hacksilver and Other Resources:

Gather sufficient Hacksilver and other necessary resources by exploring, opening chests, completing quests, and defeating other enemies.
3. Craft Ancient Armor:

• Visit Brok or Sindri:

Head to one of the shops run by the dwarf brothers, Brok or Sindri.

• Craft Armor:

Use the materials obtained from Ancients to craft a piece of the Ancient armor set. The set includes chest, wrist, and waist armor.
4. Upgrade the Armor:

• Gather Additional Materials:

Continue defeating Ancients and collecting more materials to upgrade the armor piece. You may also need resources like Solid Svartalfheim Steel, Hardened Svartalfheim Steel, or other crafting materials.

• Upgrade Steps:

Each piece of armor can be upgraded multiple times. Return to Brok or Sindri to use the materials and Hacksilver for upgrades.

• Maximize Armor Level:

Fully upgrade at least one piece of the Ancient armor set to its highest level.
General Tips:

• Combat Strategy:

Use effective strategies to defeat Ancients. Aim for their weak points, which are usually glowing spots on their bodies. Use Atreus’ arrows to help stun them.

• Explore Thoroughly:

Ancients can be found in various locations, so explore all areas and complete side quests to find and defeat them.

• Efficient Resource Management:

Prioritize gathering materials needed specifically for the Ancient armor upgrades.
Achievement Unlock:
Once you have fully upgraded one piece of Ancient armor to its maximum level, the "Primordial" achievement will unlock.

• All Will Fall

Kill 1,000 enemies.

This will come naturally through playing the game and completing side content.

3. Combat Achievements 3:

• Allfather Blinded

Kill all of Odin's Ravens.

Midgard Odin's Ravens:

1. Wildwoods (2 Ravens):

• After the first fight with enemies, near the house where you find your first chest.

• Near the house where you found the first chest, look up and to the left.

2. The River Pass (4 Ravens):

• After meeting Brok for the first time, climb the ledge near his shop and look across the bridge.
  
• Near the entrance to the Witch's Cave, near the hidden chamber.

• After unlocking the Witch's house, near the broken bridge.

• Near the location where you fight a group of enemies and a troll, near the entrance to the Mountain.

3. The Lake of Nine (7 Ravens):

• Near the Lookout Tower on the west side of the island.

• Near the Isle of Death, by the raven statue.

• Near the Stone Falls, behind the big waterfall.

• From Stone Falls dock, look at the huge structure in the middle.

• Near the Witch's Cave, above the big gate where you first dock.

• Near the Iron Cove, on the cliffs to the left.

• From the Lookout Tower, above the tower to the left.

4. The Witch's Cave (2 Ravens):

• After unlocking the door with the blue crystal, look up and to the left.

• After the water recedes, on the way to the Witch's house, look to the right from the broken bridge.

5. Alfheim Tower (3 Ravens):

• While climbing the tower to reach the Light Elf outpost, look up and to the left.

• At the top of the tower, look to the right of the sand bowl.

• In the tower summit, after meeting Sindri, fly to the left.

6. The Mountain (5 Ravens):

• After returning to the mountain, find the Hidden Chamber of Odin and look to the right of the entrance.

• At the Lookout Tower summit, fly up and to the right.

• Near the Shores of Nine, at the top of the tower to the right.

• Inside the mountain, in the room with the spinning blades, fly up.

• After finding Mimir's eye, on the way back, fly up and to the left.

Alfheim Odin's Ravens:
1. Lake of Light (2 Ravens):

• After freeing the Light of Alfheim, look to the right of the water wheel.

• Inside the ringed temple, above the entrance.

Helheim Odin's Ravens:
1. Helheim Landing Beach (1 Raven):

• After docking in Helheim, turn around and look up.

The Lake of Nine Odin's Ravens:
1. Cliffs of the Raven (1 Raven):

• After defeating the dragon, look to the left.

2. Isle of Death (1 Raven):

• On the island with the Nornir chest, look up and to the left.

3. Forgotten Caverns (1 Raven):

• After raising the water level, dock at the Forgotten Caverns and look to the left.

Foothills Odin's Ravens:
1. Stone Falls (1 Raven):

• Near the Realm Tear encounter, look up and to the right.

The Mountain Odin's Ravens:
1. Lookout Tower (1 Raven):

• After unlocking the path with the chisel, head up the elevator and look to the left.

Council of Valkyries Odin's Ravens:
1. Hidden Chamber of Odin (2 Ravens):

• In the central chamber, look to the left.

• After defeating the Valkyrie, look to the right.

Muspelheim Odin's Ravens:
1. Muspelheim Tower (1 Raven):

• After the first battle, turn around and look up.

Niflheim Odin's Ravens:

Achievement Unlock:
Once you've successfully located and destroyed all 51 of Odin's Ravens scattered throughout the realms, the "Allfather Blinded" trophy will unlock, acknowledging your mastery of uncovering these hidden secrets in "God of War."

• Like Oil and Water

Complete all of Brok and Sindri’s favors.

Fafnir's Hoard:

• Speak with Sindri at his shop in the Lake of Nine to start this quest. Follow the markers to find and deal with Fafnir.

Unfinished Business:

• Speak with Sindri at his shop in the Lake of Nine. Follow the markers to retrieve the whetstone.

Second Hand Soul:

• Speak with Brok at his shop in the Lake of Nine. Follow the markers to find and free the spirit.

Hammer Fall:

• Speak with Brok at his shop in the Lake of Nine. Follow the markers to find and deliver the hammer.

Deus Ex Malachite:

• Speak with Brok at his shop in the Lake of Nine. Follow the markers to find and collect the malachite.

Dead Freight:

• Speak with Brok at his shop in the Lake of Nine. Follow the markers to find and deal with the cargo.

The Anatomy of Hope:

• Speak with the spirit at the Light Elf Sanctuary in Alfheim. Follow the markers to find and retrieve the bones.

Locations of Dragons:
Fáfnir:

• Fáfnir can be found in Veithurgard, located in the northwest corner of the Lake of Nine. To free Fáfnir, you need to complete the favor "The Anatomy of Hope" given by the spirit near the Light Elf Sanctuary in Alfheim. Once you've completed the favor, return to Veithurgard and interact with Fáfnir to free him.

Otr:

• Otr is located in Konunsgard, an area accessible after you've progressed through the main story. To free Otr, you need to complete the favor "The Imprisonment of Otr" given by Sindri at his shop in Stone Falls. Once you've completed the favor, return to Konunsgard and interact with Otr to free him.

Rægnar:

• Rægnar is located in Midgard, specifically in the area known as the Mason's Channel, east of the Lake of Nine. Witch's Cave:

• In the area where you obtain the Blue Revenant Stone, look for a hidden chamber beneath the platform. Inside, you'll find the seventh Iðunn's Apple.

Lookout Tower:

• While exploring the tower, you'll find the eighth Iðunn's Apple on a ledge near the sand bowl.

Council of Valkyries:

River Pass:

• After you meet Brok for the first time, continue down the path until you reach a spiked gate. The Horn of Blood Mead is located to the right of the gate.

Foothills:

• After completing the "Path to the Mountain" mission, go back to where you fought the Soul Eater. The Horn of Blood Mead is on a ledge near the dragon shrine.

The Mountain:

• After obtaining the Light of Alfheim, return to the area where you lowered the chain to climb the mountain. The Horn of Blood Mead is in a small cave on the right side.

The Summit:

• After you complete the puzzle with the light crystals, climb to the top of the area. You'll find the Horn of Blood Mead behind the Nornir chest.

Lookout Tower:
