Slow Motion Fix

This guide will try to help you fix the slow motion issue in MGS2.

DETAILS ABOUT THE ISSUE

Game speed is tied to the framerate

The game runs at it's normal speed only at constant 60 FPS.
If the player has a lower framerate, the game will run in slow motion (0.5 speed for 30 FPS).
And, if the player has higher framerate, the game will run at double speed (2x speed for 120 FPS)
In a previous Patch, the double speed was "fixed" by limiting the framerate to 60. But it doesn't fix the slow motion if the player has less that 60 frames.

Download & Installation

To get rid of the slow motion problem, install this mod (by cipherxof): https://github.com/cipherxof/MGSFPSUnlock/files/14327292/Release.zip

• Extract the files to your MGS2 folder (i.e C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\MGS2)
  
• Edit MGSFPSUnlock.ini and choose your target framerate. (Stick between 30 and 60. Any higher value can cause issues in MGS2's case)
  
• Install MGSHDFix [github.com] and enable Borderless Windowed mode
