Introduction
This guide is intended to explain what each achievement is, and does not fully detail every step needed to get each achievement, as this would require extensive walkthroughs that can be found elsewhere.

However, basic steps, tips, and links to other useful guides will be provided where appropriate or useful. If anyone has an additional guide they think would be helpful, please let me know and I can edit the guide to include it.
JW Arkitektkontor Employee of the Month
This is the easiest achievement in the game, and you should just unlock it through normal gameplay rather quickly. This achievement is unlocked by collecting all of the maps of the Hotel. This can be done by opening the 5 document tubes, 1 per floor, by using the codes within the Architect's Sketches found in the cellar.
Herzmuller’s Computing Prize
Once again, most people should get this through normal gameplay, but it simply involves using every computer in the game. These can be identified through their icons on the maps (with the exception of 2), and there are a total of 9. These are located:
  1. Outside, in the guardhouse to the left of the gate (not on any map).
  2. 1st Floor, in the room with the phone to the left of the reception desk.
  3. 1st Floor, East Hallway, just outside of the Cafe.
  4. 1st Floor, Mirror Room, inside the room where you access the Quiz Club Maze.
  5. 2nd Floor, through the Gallery to the right of the door that leads to outside to the horse puzzle.
  6. 2nd Floor, the room immediately to the left of the room the elevator takes you, the same room as the diamond door.
  7. 3rd Floor, to the right of Room 2014.
  8. Loft, at the top of the stairs from the 2nd floor, just outside the door that leads to the bug report.
  9. Cellar?, take the Elevator to Floor -1 and head to the right, in the room before the Super Computer.
Entomologist of the Year
The last of the achievements that is essentially a guarantee in a normal playthrough. This requires you to replicate all 9 of the bugs detailed in the 3 bug reports found around the hotel. These are a core part of progression and one of the cooler puzzles in the game, so I won't go into any more detail here.
Simogo Consumer of the Year Award
All this achievement requires is $20 (for help finding dollar bills check the guide linked in The True American Award Achievement below). Then simply purchase the capsules from the toy machine in the cellar, just across from the bathroom. After collecting all 20 figures you will get the achievement.
Super Gamer of the Month
Similar to the previous achievement, this just requires money, $30 in total (Once again, check out The True American Award section for help). To get the achievement you need to purchase all three games for the Byte Seyes handheld over the phone. The phone number can be found on the "Super Tele Game advertisement" found in the Game Testing room in the cellar. There's a chance this number may be randomized, but in my playthrough it was 02 32 06. The three games you need to purchase are:
  1. ilomilo Shuffle
  2. Lorelei and the Laser Eyes
  3. SPL-T 2
The games are immediately delivered to the reception counter, and the achievement should activate once all three are picked up, but you may need to install them to the Byte Seyes system via the "Install Game" option on the handheld.
S.C. Bolt's Genius Award
This achievement is unlocked by unlocking all 20 of the shortcut doors around the hotel using the codes found in the book "S.C. Bolt's Number Puzzles Volume 1". The order of the puzzles in this book are randomized for each playthrough, but the solutions to the puzzles are not. Other guides exist online, but I recommend solving the puzzles for yourself.
Euterpe Prize of the Year
This achievement is earned by activating every phonograph (music player) around the map. These are marked on the floor maps by the music notes, and there are a total of 10.

The locations are:
  1. 1st Floor, Reception Room, on the far right by the bulletin board.
  2. 1st Floor, Library, about in the center of the room.
  3. 1st Floor, Dining Hall, in the far back of the room.
  4. 1st Floor, Cafe, immediately to the right of the entry door.
  5. 2nd Floor, Gallery, in the very front of the Puzzle Box room.
  6. 2nd Floor, Front West Hallway, the room in front of the Hearts Door.
  7. 3rd Floor, Elevator Hallway, the room immediately to the left of the elevator, to the right of the statue containing the eye key.
  8. 3rd Floor, Room 1847, on the right wall of the room.
  9. 3rd Floor, Room 1963, right wall. (This one should be on by default)
  10. Cellar, Basement, in the room to the right of the Game room, immediately to the left of the door to the Game Room.

Once all 10 phonographs are active the achievement will activate.
Strigiformes Award for Best Listener
This is the last achievement that requires money, with a total of $40 (Once again, more help in The True American Award section). To unlock this achievement you need to visit the theater accessed via the Caravan near your car. At each of the four corners of the theater there is a magician offering to show you a trick for $10. Seeing all 4 of these "tricks" will unlock the achievement.
Tropaeum Ex Fraternitate Oculi
This achievement is earned by reading every book in the Library Prototype in the Game Room on Floor 3. There are 8 books total and their locations can be easily found by pressing a button while in the prototype, clicking "Check level design", and navigating to the book icons on the map.
Tail Wagging Society Prize
This achievement is earned by petting Rudi (the dog) in the courtyard in front of the Hotel many times. I am not totally sure on the specific number, but it's probably around 25-30. Just spamming interact on the dog for a couple minutes will pop the achievement.
Miss Knowledgeable of the Year
This achievement is earned by correctly answering every question in the Quiz Club Maze. There are 26 total questions asked by the Brothers, and these are randomized for each playthrough. The knowledge required for these questions are scattered through documents throughout the game all the way up until the end.

The only tip I can give is that the Brothers are located in the doors between the 9 sections of the maze, so knowing the maze layout can help you track down any of the Brothers you may have missed.

Keep in mind that you can check the number of questions left by using the "Run statistics program" option on any computer.
The Black Arts Coffee Club Member of the Month
This achievement is earned by brewing a cup of espresso at all 5 of the espresso machines in the Hotel. Firstly, you need to get the coffee cup by visiting the Cafe in the north-east corner of the First Floor and the calling the phone number that The Man gives you, and subscribing to the Coffee Club for $10. The coffee machines can be seen on each floor's map, but the 5 locations are:
  1. 1st Floor, immediately in front of the elevator.
  2. 1st Floor, inside the Cafe behind the counter.
  3. 1st Floor, West back hallway, the room to the right of the Dining Hall before the stairs to the wine cellar.
  4. 2nd Floor, Front West Hallway, near the South West corner of the map.
  5. 3rd Floor, West Hallway, in front of Room 1963.

After all machines have brewed a cup of coffee, the achievement will activate.
Nobelle Prize in Anthropology or Sociology
This achievement is a little tough to say for sure what activates it, but I think it involves just calling all relevant phone numbers. That is, you don't need to call every number, but any number connected to the story in any way needs to be called. The numbers this involves are:
  • 19 63
  • 20 14
  • 18 47
  • 19 32
  • 19 38
  • 19 48
  • 19 53
  • 19 57
  • 19 60
  • 19 62
  • 19 73
  • 19 82
  • Elevator Repair Guy, found on the elevator panel (I think randomized each game).
  • Coffee Club, found in the Cafe (Possibly randomized but mine was 06 16 58).
  • Super Tele Game, found in the Game Room in the cellar (Possibly randomized but mine was 02 32 06).
  • Fortune Teller, found in the tent in the backyard (Probably not randomized each game but mine was 1798).
  • The number you call at the gas station in The Past disc 4 (This may not be needed. Probably randomized each game but mine was 47 85 15).

After each of these numbers have been called the achievement should pop.
Totte Ahla Sanningén Prize
This is achieved by reaching 100% truth revealed. This happened naturally for me, but I think the way to ensure you get this would be making sure every memory in "Photographic Memory" is filled in and every "Mental Note" in the menu is crossed off except Login to the supercomputer before starting the final sequence. This will require the 4 stories and 3 games mentioned in earlier achievements, so fineing most if not all of the money is recommended.
Coat Rack Connoisseur of the Year (Honorable Mention)
This achievement is obtained by hanging and picking up your overcoat from every coat rack in the hotel. There are a total of 4 of these, but they are easy to miss.

They are located:
  1. 1st Floor, Reception, immediately to the left after entering the Hotel.
  2. 1st Floor, West Wing, the room to the west of the phone. The coat rack is against the west wall next to shortcut door 20.
  3. 1st Floor, Cafe, against the east wall.
  4. 3rd Floor, 2014 Hallway, immediately to the left of the door to Room 2014.

The achievement should activate after using all 4 coat racks, but there may also be a number of use requirement. If it doesn't activate just spam interact on any coat rack a few times and it should work.
The True American Reward
This achievement requires you to get all the cash scattered throughout the game, something you will need to do if you plan to unlock the rest of the achievements anyways. There are a total of 100 dollar bills which is far too many to list in this guide.

However, user CreeperJoe created a very solid guide detailing the location of each bill. One thing to note is that this guide says the bill locations in The Past disc 2 are random, but they are actually located at Bankplatz and Finanzplatz which you can find by checking the map.

Keep in mind that you can check the number of bills left in each section of the game by using the "Run statistics program" option on any computer.
Augenwaldburg Race Winner
This achievement is the hardest in the game and the only one I do not have yet. Unfortunately, this is just a standard speedrun achievement. I do not have any direct confirmation, but I believe the requirement is rolling the credits in under 10 hours. This is pretty unlikely to happen on a first playthrough without a full walkthrough (which you absolutely should not do), but not impossible. Due to the random nature of many aspects of the game there really aren't any shortcuts or tips for this one, you just have to go back through the game quicker and only focusing on necessary information.

There is seemingly some sort of percentage requirement or at least checks for certain solves, as loading an early save and solving the final puzzle does not unlock the achievement. For the time being, you will likely need to do a full new play through to unlock it.
Ilona Zevon & Milton Foley Grand Prize
This achievement is earned by getting a score of 500 or more in the "ilomilo Shuffle" game for the Byte Seyes handheld console (see Super Gamer of the Month Achievement for details on how to get the game).

This will just require some practice at the game since it is random and reactionary. The biggest tip for this that isn't clearly communicated is that the best way to earn score is via the gourds (are they gourds? I'm going to call them gourds) that spawn every now and then. However, the next tier of gourd will only spawn if one of the lower tiers is already on the map. This means that you want to avoid picking up the White Gourd so that the next gourd to spawn is Grey. Then save the Grey Gourd to force a Black Gourd to spawn. Try to just collect the Black Gourd while saving the lower tiers to spawn as many Black Gourds as possible. After a few tries you should be able to get 500 no problem.
Cutter of the Week
This achievement requires you to get a score of 200 or more cuts in the "SPL-T 2" game for the Byte Seyes handheld console (see Super Gamer of the Month Achievement for details on how to get the game).

Fortunately, this game is the same every time and user tasselfoot created an in-depth guide along with a video of them achieving over 200 cuts. If you need tips or can't reach 200 cuts yourself, check out their guide.
Theseus Award
This achievement requires you to reach stage 9 of the "Lorelei and the Laser Eyes" game for the Byte Seyes handheld console (see Super Gamer of the Month Achievement for details on how to get the game).

This is a tricky achievement, but learning the mechanics of the minigame will help substantially. There are a total of 9 stages to this game, and stage 9 is very difficult. Thankfully, you only need to complete the first 8 stages, and the achievement will unlock upon reaching stage 9. Some tips that helped me get it done are:
  • There is always 1 eye in each of the 9 sections of the maze.
  • The speed and lifetime of the Maze Men spawned on eye pickup increases with each stage.
  • The door in the North East corner can be accessed from the bottom which lets you teleport to the South East corner. This is often very helpful and sometimes the only way to safely avoid the man with the gun.
  • The dog and man with the gun will respawn after a short time after killing them with the glasses pickup.
  • The absolute biggest priority is getting the flowers, which in turn spawns an extra life. You will lose lives in unfair ways due to the awkward shape of the maze and unlucky enemy spawns.

Overall, the biggest priority is to stay alive. Lives will get lost later on so stacking lives early is very important to reach the end. It may take a few tries, but it is mostly just a time commitment.

Thanks again for the guide, can also confirm soggytoost's theory regarding Augenwaldburg Race Winner: Going to the center of the quiz club is most likely the requirement.
-100%'d game on one save, but had a second save from the middle of that run
-Loaded that save at 4:17, 38%, entered final code & beat game, no achievement.
-Reloaded same save, made it to quiz club with minimum steps (elevator, crank, west key) and solved my way to center using memory/documents from the 100%'d save, visited 3 symbols room
-Punched in final code, beat game, let credits fully roll, achievement popped.

Thank you very much for the guide, ih8mondays57. It has been very useful for clearing achievements.
I tell my experience with the Augenwaldburg Race Winner achievement:
-1ºGame completed to 100% in approx 20h.
- I load a game at 50,4% and 7h of gameplay. Same puzzles.
- I quickly get to the centre of the quiz club by answering by memory.
- Complete the game and...ACHIEVEMENT RECEIVED

So Soggytoost is probably right.

By the way, ih8mondays57: questions answered in the quiz club count for 100% of the game. I can say that for sure.

Just got Augenwaldburg Race Winner using a previous save of my first 100% run. The save was at 24min and I competed nearly all puzzles to be safe (94%). All puzzle solutions were the same except for two. the male and female mannequin letters had different dates. So the moon journal and Astro clock needed different solutions . Finished in 5h 12min and the achievement popped after the credits finished and it shows the time.

I have a problem with "Tropaeum Ex Fraternitate Oculi", I read all books and the archivement doesn't appear :(
Can anyone help me?

For Augenwaldburg Race Winner I finished at 4.6 hrs and just played through the whole game (but fast obviously) so I'm sure its to prevent cheesing it (since some people skipped certain things and then logged in)

I was hoping that deleting saves from the computer over 10 hours would let me use an earlier save to get this. But it looks like it's still got the time recorded somewhere (or there's a completion requirement). I got to the centre of the quiz club, went through the mirror, and then logged into the super computer . But nothing when the credits ran.
thissucksballs515 Jul 22, 2024 @ 3:26am
I can confirm that soggytoost is absolutely correct about the requirement to get the speedrun achievement. I had an earlier save from my playthrough where I was sitting at only 25% and had done almost nothing significant puzzle-wise. I did only was was necessary to get me to the Mirror Room and center of the Quiz Club maze , and then I went straight to the end. All of the puzzle solutions were the same, so everything is seeded from the file start. The achievement popped after the credits finished. Hope this helps!
soggytoost Jul 12, 2024 @ 10:21pm
I'm fairly confident now that the trigger is getting to the centre of the quiz club.

Re: Augenwaldburg Race Winner

I can confirm that there is some kind of completion requirement, my route for the speedrun saved next to the supercomputer half way through the run so I could load and get back there quicker at the end. Did the whole run in 2 hours 15 minutes and didn't get the achievement.

Re: Augenwaldburg Race Winner

Often speedrunning achievements track total time spent on a seed. This is completely disconnected from the player-controlled system for saving the game state, and doesn't care how you jump around between save files or whether your progress gets saved at all.

Tracking time for the entire seed is just about the only reasonable way to add a speedrunning achievement to a game that's this reliant on knowledge checkpoints. So until there's data to the contrary, I would assume that's how they've implemented it.

This is consistent with your testing, and seems much more likely than a minimum completion requirement.
