how to mod pizza tower (spelling errors) (some missinformation) (OUTDATED I'LL MAKE A BETTER VERSION)

so you want to mod pizza tower but you don't know how? well, i got a solution for you! its easy to mod games that are in game-maker then in other applications like unity

how does modding work?

modding is basically changing texture or code to an existing project/game or making completely new code or scripts

downloading mods delta patch or pizza oven

the'res actually 2 ways to download pizza tower mods if im correct, one being easy and one being kinda risky, these 2 methods are PizzaOven and DeltaPatcher, they work differently, pizza oven being a 1click install mod and delta patcher making you do slightly more work

pizza oven method

pizza oven is one of the easy methods of modding pt.
ityou can download pizza oven by going into gamebanana
and searching up "pizza oven" in the search tab in the corner above scroll down until you see manual download because there's literally no possible way to download pizza oven with pizza oven, it will probably take a long time downloading depending on how good your pc is, once its done, go into the .zip file and extract all the files, and then open up PizzaOven.exe (make sure not the open it up twice cuz it'll say "pizza oven is already opened")
so heres where you are, you'll be met to the manage mods tab(where your mods you installed are)
you can download mods by going to the browse mods tab, this is where you'll be able to download thousands of mods created by people all around the world. its kinda simple, press download to download the mod you want, it'll take some time to load, and then go back to manage mods tab to see your mod you downloaded, whats that? you dunno how to open it up? well you just click on the mod you downloaded then your gonna go up and press launch, and then pizza tower will open up with the mod you downloaded, hold on a minute you said what? you cant find the mod you were looking for? well thats ok because
you can either press the left and right arrows at the bottom to go to different mods OR you can go to the category tabs. whats that? its simple and ill go into every one of them in another section

pizza oven categories

ok so ill go over all of pizza ovens category tabs like this

all - every single mod from every category

other/misc - either adds new mechanics, sprites, or even movesets

translations - for people who speake spanish or other languages other then english

taunts - adds custom taunts for peppino

ui - either adds a new hud, changes a new hud or brings an old hud back or fixes one

re-sprites - changes the sprites of characters, backgrounds, enemies and so on.

characters - adds a new character or brings an old one back, some might have their own movesets

extension - these mods in this tab might include lapping, animations, mechanics, levels, gimmiks,
collectables and so on.

rework - changes peppino or the levels or adds old objects

full game edit - edits the full games sprites, characters, enemies, ect

united - a mod that is multiplayer with a different variaty of levels, new characters, lapping for other mods, mechanics, a whole chat system, floors, and a whole bunch more

ranks - adds either 1-3 new ranks for the game having their own requirements

level edits - edits an existing level in pizza tower that either changes the layout or puts more objects in the level

cyop/afom - a mod that lets you able to create custom levels, sprites, enemies, and tilesets (afom is a mod for cyop that adds new keybinds, old objects that no longer crash when loded in a level, mechanics new variables and escape backgrounds)

beta/demo build - mods that come from older version of pizza tower including sage, april 2021, and more like early test build

save files - mods that changes your save file to have 101% or all the stamps of aproval

title card - changes the sprites or even the jingle of the title cards in pt

oven injector - theres only 1 mod here that adds game modes from other mods or even new one

delta patcher method

delta patcher requires you to do slightly more work them pizza oven.
first go into steam - pizza tower then hover your mouse over to manage, then press browse local files, and now your in the pizza tower folder, make sure you have umt installed or else it wont work, heres the link to delta patcher: https://www.romhacking.net/utilities/704/ and heres umt link: https://github.com/UnderminersTeam/UndertaleModTool/releases/tag/bleeding-edge make sure to get

so to apply a mod to pizza tower you have to open up deltapatcher.exe and then you'll be met with a tiny screen, drag your data.win file to the "original file tab" and then put the mod file of the mod you want and drag it to the "XdeltaPatch tab" then press "apply patch" and there you go! a mod!

how to revert it to normal

so your playing your favorite mod but you kinda wanna go back to the original pizza tower but dont know how? well LUCKY you because its EASY!!!

just go into steam and press the little options icon, then press properties then go to the installed files tab then click "verify integrity of game files" and then wait for the files to convert back to its original state, you'll no longer have any mods YAY!

BAD PART OF MODDING

ya know, modding is really good and cool but there are some downsides to it like
some mods might not patch to the version your looking for witch results in an a error screen witch is really bad if you really want to play that mod you were looking for

some mods may crash due to them being too old or having unset code into them, some even crash because too many old objects and it'll crash due to their code being in older versions of the game

and finally



SOME MODS MAKE YOU SOFTLOCK

make your own resprite

you can also make your own mods for pizza tower and this one is very easy to do because its just sprite changing

download asesprite or libresprite if you dont wan to spend money on ase

this is where you'll begain re spriteing but before you do, do this
go into the pizza tower folder then go to the export_sprites folder, whats export sprites folder at?
to get the sprites folder you have to go into umt(might that a long time loading the sprites before opening) and go into the scripts tab, i kinda forgot what scripts tab it was but keep looking at you'll find something that says exportgraphics.cxs click on that, it'll make a message pop up asking you something, just press no, then continue to wait for every frame of every sprite to load into the pizza tower folder

ok back to re spriteing

you can go into ase or lib and press open file, then, your gonna wunna go to the pizza tower adress location where the sprites folder is at, click on one of peppinos animation frames and a pop up will come up asking you if you want to import every frame of that animation in lib or ase you can either press yes or no but i reccomend pressing yes, then after that, click the three black dots, this will help you for the animation turn red/blue tint on and current layer only on) turn the opacity down and then create a new layer on top the peppino layer (this'll also help you) and then in the second layer get creative and draw on top of peppino layer when your done you can delete peppino layer leaving only your animation, then you can export it ass frames , (inside the pizza tower folder make a new on to put your animations in) then go into data.win and go to import graphics and select the folder with your sprites and done!

I tried this and most of the mods didn't work. It's probably because most of the mods are from earlier versions of the game and my version is 1.1.271
