Intro
Morrowind does not have the same type of fast travel that Oblivion, Daggerfall and Skyrim have. You can’t just open the map, click on a location and go.

But, there is a system in-place in Morrowind that enables you to achieve the same objective of getting to your destination fast.

The easiest way to show you would be to view this video, but if you prefer to read (or just wanted a more in-depth look into fast travel), just continue down below.

(Please don't mind the fake german accent.)
Transport
There are several modes of transportation in Morrowind and here I’ll briefly describe them for you.

The creature above is the Silt Strider, a giant flea, which is used to connect the majority of inland cities to each-other.

As you can see, you can get from Molag Mar (which is fairly to the east) to the northern settlement of Khuul just by using the Sil Striders.

Of course, you won’t be able to go there directly, but utilizing the different connections you will be able to get there without walking.

Then, there are Boats. They connect the various seaside villages and towns.

This makes the Telvanni settlements as well as the far-north town of Dagon Fel accessible to you. Using a boat usually allows for direct access to the next boat-town clockwise and counter-clockwise.

Seyda Neen, notably, is not part of this system. In addition to that, some towns have both Silt Strider and Boat travel, such as Molag Mar.

(A boat is also the only way to Solsteim. You get there from Khuul, but using a different NPC.)

The next transportation option is the Guild Guide.

There is a Guild Guide in each Mages Guild Hall, usually the NPC that is farthest away from the entrance (except in Sadrith Mora).

There is a Mages Guild Hall in Balmora, Ald’ruhn, Sadrith Mora (the three House Capitols) as well as Vivec and Caldera. This is Caldera’s only mode of transport.

Spells
Then there are all the Teleport spells.

Almsivi Intervention – gets you to the nearest Tribunal Shrine. Those are usually in bigger towns.

Divine Intervention – gets you to the nearest Imperial Cult shrine. Those are usually Imperial Forts. Wolverine Hall in Sadrith Mora is probably the most useful of these as you can get close to a guild guide & a ship from most of the eastern half of Vvardenfell (unless you have the Tamriel Rebuilt mod which ♥♥♥♥♥ that up a bit.)

Mark – you set a Mark that you can teleport back to.

Recall – you teleport back to the Mark you’ve set. I use Melian’s Teleport mod that lets me set multiple marks, but even with just one it is very useful.

See the video below for how to get all Teleportation spells, Teleportation scrolls (1-time consumables) and Teleportation Amulets.

There are other, more specialized forms of Teleportation spells. Each Vampire Clan gives an amulet that teleports you back to their base. Vampire Quest Walkthroughs.

There is also Barilzar’s Mazed Band. You procure it during the Tribunal Main Quest and it becomes available to you when you beat the final boss. Tribunal Main Quest Walkthrough.
Propylon Chambers
The final mode of transportation is teleportation between Dunmer Strongholds using Propylon Indices.

There are a total of 11 Dunmer Strongholds. One of these is Kogoruhn, which is disconnected, but you can freely travel between the other 10.

For each Stronghold, there is a Propylon Index hidden somewhere in the world. You’ll need to find all 10 to freely travel between all of them and they are usually in obscure locations.

Normally, you can travel to the next and previous stronghold in the network directly.

You travel using the obelisks in Propylon Chambers, like the one in the picture just below.

Fortunately, despite the locations being obscure, there is a free official plugin called Master Index, which adds a quest that leads you to all the indices.

But it also adds the Master Index, which makes Caldera act as the stopping point (the hub) of travel between all the Strongholds.

Now, you can no longer use the Propylon Chamber to travel to the previous and next Stronghold in the network. Instead, using the chamber transports you to Caldera and you choose your new destination in dialogue.

This mode of transport is very useful for Vampires, even with the Master Index plugin, as your travel arrangements in Caldera are made in dialogue and not using the Transport service option.

Whether or not you will download Master Index, the Propylon Indices do not move. If you wish to find them all, view the video below.

Other methods
There are also some ways to travel that do not include any transport service.

You can jump to success.

And you can find the Boots of Blinding Speed to simply increase your movement speed.

(More german accent, but a bit better this time.)

Then, there is also water walking and levitation, which make travelling over water a bit more bearable and allow you to go above mountains.
Navigating Vivec
If you have trouble specifically with getting around Vivec, please see this video.

I fully stand behind the words in the thumbnail. Vivec really is easy, you all are just making it unnecessarily complicated in your heads.

Thank you for reading/watching my guide. I hope you found it helpful.

I have a few other guides here on Steam, please see them if you are interested.

I also have a Youtube channel. If you have trouble with a Morrowind quest or with finding a specific item, please search for it there.
