How to get past the disc

As a tip for the M. Disk shrine run you can, as others have said, use the whistle and Teleport Room. If you insist on running it the 32 Egg reward is the Top which distracts dogs without using the disk which prevents the ghost from speeding up when the disk is thrown.

The second instance of the cat/dog chase is simplified by teleporting with the animal flute, taking the shortcut with the top left bear head and then moving from there. The elevator that requires cranking can be charged up and left so that you can just jump instantly to progress while being chased.

I got stuck on a later sequence that involves using the Mock Disc again . I seriously doubt I solved it right and there was probably another solution. However, in case somebody else gets stuck getting the ghost's flame , this is what I did:

Get the animal flute (8 eggs). Know the teleport song taught by the fish in the room under the animal head room. Grab the Mock Disc from the ghost. Immediately, play the teleport song. Now head up and to the left and get in the bear statue's mouth. Wait there (don't go through yet). When the ghost enters the teleport room, go through the mouth. Now immediately go multiple screens to the right until you reach the screen with a ladder on the far right side. Head up the ladder then one more screen right and place the disc.

This was the only way I could figure out how to do it reasonably fast, but maybe I missed something obvious.

I and a few others have experienced a game-ending bug that involves the mock disc disappearing from inventory upon death. Then you are left with no Mock Disk in your inventory while the chest that orginally contained it is already opened. This means you never swap the disk. Hopefully this will get addressed soon as I really don't wanna start over after having 2 of the 4 flames and 4 hours invested.

to be fair I got the disc and completed the entire sequence *with* the giant ghost dog, and I thought it was really cool. However a later sequence where I needed that same mock disc somewhere else on the map nearly made me go insane due to the distance and the obstacles on the way.
