Official (Ingame) Server's Rules Guide, I learned the hard way so you don't have to..

How to avoid getting banned/killedvialoophole/muted/ on officials servers, as there are many invisible rules that don't exist but they will strike you for them, and there are many things that are allowed that you would think aren't with the rule descriptions.

Introduction

Hello! Many of you may know me from my adventures in ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on official servers, and probably dealing with me. I have a couple thousand hours in the game and about two-thirds of that is on officials. I've grown tired of waiting for them to make their rules new player friendly, or more forgiving, or list them all, so I'm making this guide. I learned many of these things the hard way and have taken many strikes, but at the very least I can make sure you don't have to. (Yes, I'm the nerd who yaps too long in #feedback-and-ideas and runs the YT channel where ory death pits came from)

There are going to be three sections :
1 - Combat rules, spoken and unspoken
2 - Chat rules, spoken and unspoken
3 - A warning/suggestion
My goal is to prevent you from making the same mistakes I did, as strikes are permanent and forgiveness is rare. Tickets also take anywhere from weeks to months to get settled, so it wastes a ton of time trying to deal with any false strikes you do get.

After that we part and I'll make another one of these in the future for the discord server.

Combat Rules

The current combat rules, as stated in the discord, are :

2. No mixpacking:

- Do not interfere in a fight that is already happening (or directly after), even if you kill both sides it will still be counted as mixpacking.

- If a fight is occurring, you are not allowed to bring healing materials as any creature outside of the group possibilities. You may not “Airdrop” users into a fight either.
You are also not allowed to rescue someone from a fight using a flyer, Mosa or any animal that can pick up and carry people away.

- Using a Wiehenvenator's ability to see creature stats and then relaying that information to other species is considered mixpacking, and is not permitted. Further, you may not carry around a Wiehenvanator using a flying creature for use as a scout.

- This does not include interrupting duels, as they’re locked in a scenario where their health resets when interrupted. Therefore the mixpacking creature has no advantages.

- This also includes directly messaging other species where a potential hunt is / or to avoid. I.e Birds telling where a player is. This does include global location dropping

3. No teamkilling on purpose.

- This includes killing someone shortly after they are removed from group

4. Harassment is strictly forbidden on Official Beast of Bermuda servers.

Harassment is defined as acting out in a systematic way and continuing unwanted behaviours against a specific player or group.
This includes, but is not limited to, the following:
- Constant in-game harassment of players.

To clarify :
You may not interrupt a fight
You may not bring people to/away from a fight
You may not bring healing to a fight
You may not share information with other species in a fight
You may not location drop anyone, not anymore.
You may not team kill
Harrassment needs a ton of clarification. It, in my experience, actually means that
You may not return to attack the same person or group a third time. If you do, this is strikeable.


Here are things that are allowed, but are not stated as allowed :

You may intim bomb a fight (Standing near a fight as a larger creature in order to screw over the chances of a smaller one. If weihens are fighting a saichania and you walk by as four 2.0 coahs, you and your buddies are allowed to stand right next to the fight and force the weihens to leave, unless they want to die to microwave radiation. This actually happened to me)

You may interupt a fight on the side of your species/groupable. If paras and apas are fighting megaraptors, and you are a para/apa or megaraptor, you can join that respective side mid fight.

Harrassment counts (The coming back 3 times), are reset if the other party is aggressive towards you. If you come back to the same watering hole and stand next to the same group you JUST attacked, and they attack you to make you leave, the count is reset to 0, and you may return two times again to attack without it being a rulebreak.

You may interrupt a fight if a member from either side tries to eat from a gore that you "own". As in, if you are standing next to it first and they try to eat from it, you may attack and kill that player.


Here are things that are left vague so that moderation can be biased as they please moderation can work on a case by case basis depending on the actions of the users.

The timer for attacking after a fight is somewhere between 60 and 90 seconds. You may not follow, attack, etc either side of a fight for that time period.

A fight is considered over when neither side is actively chasing the other. The moment both sides sit, or one walks in one direction and the other does not IMMEDIATELY CHASE IT, the fight has ended.

A fight is considered begun when damage is dealt, or an ability is used that causes a status effect. E.G. acros roar.


Here are things that are not allowed, but are not stated as not allowed :

Nothing to my knowledge, at least not that I can recall. However, be careful and pay attention to the rules. They often silently change them and I've caught 2 strikes due to this, as well as lost a few dinos.

Chat Rules

The Chat rules, as stated in the discord, are as follows :
1. Do not provide or ask for other's personal information.

-This includes spreading false information about developers, staff, servers, and other players.

2. Keep chat civil and safe for work. Chat toxicity is not permitted.

- Toxicity includes, but is not limited to: racism, discrimination, and sexism.
- Discussion involving politics, religious ideals, or any other polarising topics are not permitted.

3. Do not be rude to, or argue with, members of staff. Please do not back-seat moderate.

- If you are having issues with a staff member, or need general assistance, please use official-support-ticket and we can assist you.
- Do not harass or attack users who speak other languages within Global chat, instead report it to a moderator.

4A. Treat people with the same respect and dignity as you’d like to be treated with.
If you’re being annoyed or harassed by another user we ask that your first plan of action is to use the ‘ANNOYINGDINOSAUR’ command or Mute option in the TAB menu.

4B. Harassment is strictly forbidden on Official Beast of Bermuda servers.

Harassment is defined as acting out in a systematic way and continuing unwanted behaviours against a specific player or group.
This includes, but is not limited to, the following:
- Sending rude/threatening messages to a user using the in-game messaging system
- Placing real world money bounties on players
- Using external platforms to prod at and bully a player (This includes following them across servers)
- Griefing them using features of the game not intended for griefing
- Stream Sniping content creators.

For clarification :
Do Not argue with staff.
Block annoying people please instead of making a ticket.
Don't harass anybody.
Be sfw.
Don't be overly toxic.
No politics
Don't ask for personal information.

What do these mean? :
Do not argue with staff - If a staff says something in global, and you disagree in any way, shape, or form, or send a single message after they want a conversation to stop, you will be muted. Even if it has nothing to do with moderation or any rulebreak.
One staff member (Not naming any names), demanded a completely acceptable conversation about the balance of the game be stopped immediately. After everyone shut up or was muted for not immediately stopping, he proceeded to have a lengthy, 20+ minute conversation in global with a good dozen people about their... "attractions." I'll leave it at that. The mods themselves claim that the server has chat rules due to the presence of children. I was muted due to this ordeal from the message or two that came after him making the server shut the ♥♥♥♥ up. When I made a ticket on his behavior, they brushed it off even though he blatantly broke their rules with an NSFW conversation.

Block annoying people instead of making a ticket. - If you annoy anyone you will be muted. This rule is ignored and irrelevant, everyone just makes a ticket instead and if its something you would annoyingdinosaur for its something they would mute for.

Be SFW - Be SFW, depending on how much the mods like you this will have a different limit. Saying "F*ck" might be NSFW, or "going into detail about your attractions" won't be. This includes slurs. Don't use them.

Don't be toxic - Don't be toxic to the wrong people. Depending on the mod this will change. Predatoria (The lead developer) will mute people for saying GG EZ after killing him depending on his mood. I was 7v1'd once, gg ezed by all 7 people, and they proceeded to talk ♥♥♥♥ for 30 minutes. I talked ♥♥♥♥ back. See the result - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SvxTyopI2Hk

Here are things that are found out through gameplay and taking permanent strikes for doing something you didn't know wasn't allowed.

Disallowed words (That aren't obvious like the N-word and F slur)-
Gay - You can use this one, but you cannot call people it as an insult or in a negative sense.
R "Slur" - The scientific word for slow/slowing, Fire extinguishers are flame (Slur)ant. Most people don't actually see this one as a slur, but the bob mods do.
Various words for genitals - You can call someone these as in a (male)head, or a (female) in terms of being a coward, but only on the actual game server. See my other guide (Coming eventually) for the changes in the discord. Do not use them in an NSFW context and you'll be fine.

Chat rule application - Chat rules only apply to LOCAL and GLOBAL. In pack chat with your buddies or in messages you may use whatever words you please and talk about politics and nsfw all you want.
Moderation, if you are disliked or are doing something illegal, such as grooming, will ignore this and get you for stuff in pack chat and messages anyways.

A Warning/Suggestion

These are discord moderators. They have been given power over your time and money. Expect discord moderators. Most of the actual mods make frequent mistakes and will ignore/reject your tickets. Ask for an admin if they have done so, and they are required to get one. If I had to rate the admins I'd say best case scenario is Nova, as I have never seen bias from him/her. Zunaria and KrymsonFeather are more personal. These two both show bias, but depending on YOU one will be better or worse. TMK you cannot go higher then the admins. You can ask for a different one, but you will usually be stuck with whatever the first one said. If you kiss the ring and bend the knee and lick the boot you can be revived when most wouldn't, and not be muted when most would. If you don't, or you are just programmed to be as big of a pain in the ass as possible due to the clans of old (Like me), then sucks to suck, your experiences with the moderation are going to be terrible.

If you are liked, tickets will take anywhere from a few hours to a few days.
If you are disliked, tickets taking a few hours will be very, very, very rare, and its more likely it takes anywhere from a few weeks to ~2 months.

The game itself is apolitical. They do not do "Pride month" or "Christmas" events, like ARK : SURVIVAL EVOLVED does, at least I have never seen it.

If you are a new player, I recommend playing nice with the mods. If you physically can't do that or you are an older player, welcome to the club.

STRIKES ARE PERMANENT. YOU WILL EVENTUALLY BE PERM-MUTED AND BANNED. IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME. Some wonderful members of the community, such as Krona, have been permanently muted due to these offenses building up over 3-4 YEARS. They were wiped once with Titania's release, two years ago. Will they ever wipe again or become non-permanent? I hope they do, as the game hemorrhages older players and never sees new ones.

Id like to state I have since been banned from the games discord and am on my last strike on the actual official servers due to attacking (as in, i killed his dinosaur with my dinosaur) a YouTuber the mod team likes. I since stopped playing official servers and thus I could not tell you wether or not this is still up to date. At the very least it should help lower the amount of "Finding out the hard way" yall have to do. GLHF on the game fellas.

A lot of official servers have clans mixpacking constant and nothing gets done until that community gets fed up and mixpacks back to wipe them out eventually. Happens all the time and nothing gets done.

and don't get me started on skin owners being rampantly harassed for having unique skins unobtainable by normal means, or just outright told to kill themselves for disagreeing with them in global chat, only to be told by a mod that there's no rule break.

I remember when I first started playing I got told I had to join a 3rd party software (discord) to see the rules for the official servers.. NAH that's a big no-no. You should never have to leave the damn game you're playing to see all the rules.
