Warning: The shader chosen for this guide looks best on a 1440p monitor. For other resolutions I recommend trying different presets or settings.

1. To use the Reshade shaders, you need to download the latest version of Reshade from the official website: https://reshade.me/

2. Keep in mind that the graphics API for Stardew is OpenGL. Open the Reshade setup and follow the instructions, after choosing the graphics API you can skip the remaining steps.

3. Download the latest zip file of "kyubus-shader" from Github, extract it's contents to the Stardew steam folder and overwrite files. (right click Stardew on steam > Manage > Browse local files)
https://github.com/frankschoeman/kyubus-shader/releases

4. Now we want to select the right preset from the collection of shaders. You have 2 options. Open the game, you should notice Reshade being loaded right away. Press the "Home" button on keyboard to display the Reshade interface and select kyubus-royale-1440p-HD preset. Press Home again to hide the interface.

Or, open the Reshade.ini file in a text editor, look for "PresetPath=" on line 24, and change it to "PresetPath=kyubus-royale-1440p-HD.ini"

That's it, enjoy the game with a nostalgic look.

No 1440p monitor? There are 1080p and 4k monitor presets to try from the kyubus-shader collection zip file (/kyubus-extras/) or try messing with the settings. If there is enough demand for it I'll work on presets for other resolutions, I haven't updated these in a while.

I'm the creator of the kyubus-shader collection, and I'm open to suggestions.
