A guide on character combinations to get S ranks for your HQ theatre plays and get decent, unique rewards.

Introduction

After you recruit Clarke, you can build the Theatre at your HQ. This unlocks a pretty unique mini-game, for lack of a better term, that you can do for some fun scenes and get decent, unique rewards but only if your shows get an S rating. I will put the combination of characters I used to get S rankings for the plays.

The Star-Cross'd Lovers

How to acquire: Buy from Ardinale General store for 5,000 Baqua (also used to recruit Clarke after the Seign chapter)

Narrator - Reyna

Reward: Masquerade Mask (Accessory - 100 HP 50 MP)

Red Riding Hood

How to acquire: Find in a chest in Leene's room in Kyshiri Village. Can be gotten very early on and probably the first play you will unlock.

Grandmother - Iris

Reward: Red Riding Hood (Clothing Cap - 5 Magic, 11 Defense, 16 Magic Defense)

Cinderella

How to acquire: Can appear in the Treefolk village general store for 30,000 Baqua (rare shop item so won't always appear)

Younger Stepsister - Perrielle
Faerie - Cassandra
Prince - Maxim

Reward: Glass Slipper (Accessory - 40 Luck, improved chance to execute defense skill)

How to obtain: Rare item from Yarnaan item shop for 15,000 Baqua

Reward: Wind Tower Shield (Shield - A-rank armour, 5 Strength, 3 Magic Defense)

Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising

How to obtain: Rare item from Eltisweisse item shop for 40.000 Baqua available after reclaiming Eltisweisse in the story

C.J. - Frida
Evil Sorcerer - Jorhan

Reward: Hunter's Suit (Clothing - 5 Strength, 15 Dexterity, 15 Speed, 23 Defense, 34 Magic Defense)

P.S. I definitely recommend casting the actual characters of Isha, Garoo and C.J. One as themselves and two more times swapping them around (the other roles for this don't matter). Each have very meta and unique lines.

Extra

Overall I know this game has been getting a lot of flack for localisation and even for voice acting but I really feel like the Theatre is where it shines best. Some really fun combinations can be made and you get to see and hear the characters in a very different way. Larla makes roles a lot more silly fun, especially as a narrator.

P.S.S I got a lot of A combinations but never got anything less. If anyone got lower I'd be curious what they got. Looking for the worst possible ♥♥♥♥ show that tainted the eyes and ears of the viewers.

The Eiyuden wiki has every value for every character in every role, B rank requires 99 or less points and is done with negative value characters, like the aforementioned Chandra and Aleior. You'll get boo'd at the end, Mandie's commentary is received poorly while it looks like Syd (explosive artist) is the worst actor overall.

For getting S ranks, it's guaranteed with any combination of the following characters (they'll meet the 2nd highest score for each role which adds to 400 points for S rank):
Maxim (the best actor overall except for Garoo), Seign (best Romeo/Juliet/Prince/Garoo), Iris, Marisa, Cassandra, Huang, Hakugin (best roles as any animal in the Forest Musicians), Marin, Clarke, Leon, Valentin, Jorhan, Momo, and Janquis.
Perielle is also good, she only can't play Cinderella in Cinderella well (90/120).

I managed to get a B by casting Aleior and Chandra into as the Huntsman and Wolf in Red Riding Hood. I think those two in most plays would get a B (as long as the other roles aren't top-tier actors).

Also, Mandie is one of the funniest narrators in the whole game
