Quickplay guide for getting librarian specific endings
Por Deaddropping
"Resolution and a plan are better than a sword, because a man whets his own edges on them." - Gene Wolfe

For those of you who choose the path of suffering, I will create a guide to condense all the info you need into one easy place to quickly get through and achieve a librarian-specific ending. For those who want maximum suffering, cease reading here. Before starting, I suggesting having one save where you have just a fully unlocked library for other achievements to hunt before starting this.

WARNING; EXTREMELY SPOILER HEAVY

Step 1; Librarian Selection
The first step is obviously starting the game and picking a librarian. These are the soul combinations to get the various librarians.

Step 2; Picking and Obtaining a Numen
This is going to be the most time consuming step, but knowing what to work towards helps with planning. While each librarian has two Numen they can work with, you only need to get one to achieve a librarian specific ending, which will save some time. Keep both books in mind and work towards each, as the language will be the biggest barrier to unlocking them. Once you have the language, you should be set by this point.

This table is ordered by how soon the book can be obtained, relatively speaking.

Step 3; Setting up your ending
Doing the basic math to achieve an ending; you need 25 of the aspect, and you can write in two determinations that give you a maximum of 2 bonus points in that aspect. So the minimum needed is 23. With 5 from the Numen and 7 from the Ink, that leaves a gap of 11 that needs filled by soul and skill.

Making a determination is much easier than making the full history, and an easy way to get closer to the 25 power you need. Here is a run down of what determination to make to boost a specific aspect.

You will also need to get your hands on the required Ink for your ending, possibly writing determinations, and one for creating a petition for numa. You may be able to get a useful shortcut here if a skill used for crafting the ink is useful for getting your ending as well.

Porphyrine (rose, knock, and moon)- Ichor Auroral needed, can be crafted with
  • Auroral Contemplations [Lantern]
  • Inks of Revelation [Rose]
  • Inks of Power [Rose]
  • Pearl and Tide [Rose]
  • Sand Stories [Rose]

Marakat (grail, knock, and nectar) - Leathy needed, can be crafted with
  • Insects & Nectars [Nectar]
  • Inks of Power [Nectar]
  • Tridesma Hiera [Nectar]

Nillycant (scale, winter, and edge) - Solomon's Preparation needed, can be crafted with
  • Inks of Containment [Winter]
  • Sights & Sensations [Winter]
  • Ragged Crossroads [Winter]

Orpiment Exultant (heart, sky, and forge) - Iotic Essence needed, can be crafted with
  • Transformations & Liberations [Forge]
  • Inks of Power [Forge]
  • Anbary & Lapidary [Forge]

Uzult (lantern, moth, sky) - Xanthotic Essence needed, can be crafted with
  • Inks of Revelation [Lantern]
  • Sacra Solis Invicti [Lantern]
  • Watchman's Paradoxes [Lantern]
  • Glaziery & Lightsmithing [Lantern]
  • Anbary & Lapidary [Lantern]
Step 4; Soul and Skill
So with 2 points from determinations, 5 from the numen, 7 from the ink, you still require 11 points to reach the required 25. You will need to level up an appropriate soul card and skill to get to that amount.

Consider this when planning your route; Heart, Knock, Rose, Grail, Moth, Forge, Lantern, and Winter are easier to obtain. Conversely, Moon, Edge, Nectar, and Sky are harder. Scale is the hardest. This is because each soul card has a major and minor aspect. Mettle, for example, will always have 1 more Forge than Edge, and thus require another level in either it or an edge skill to reach a value of 11. At the maximum level of the corresponding soul card, you can have a maximum....

of 5 - Heart, Knock, Rose, Grail, Moth, Forge, Lantern, Winter
of 4 - Moon, Edge, Nectar, Sky
of 3 - Scale

There is a useful soul evolution tool[docs.google.com] someone created, which will help you level up things quickly.

Then it comes down to picking a relevant skill to focus on leveling up. I suggest choosing either one related to crafting the ink or ink supplies, or one that has your selected aspect as its major power. Leveling up a skill further means you require a lower level soul card, and vice versa. Higher skills would also allow you to bypass the need for determinations.

Minimum value needed of 6 - Heart, Knock, Rose, Grail, Moth, Forge, Lantern, Winter
Minimum value needed of 7 - Moon, Edge, Nectar, Sky
Minimum value needed of 8 - Scale

With that, the final obstacle is obtaining more of the appropriate soul cards. This is a more complex thing than I can format here, so I will simply link[book-of-hours.fandom.com] to the wiki and its list of skills. That will tell you which skills can be slotted where to recieve what soul card.
Conclusion
With that, you now have a plan laid out; your librarian, the numen of use, and what you will need to write a history. Getting to that point will still take a while, but you know exactly what you need to do to get there. Feedback for additional steps or clarification would be appreciated. Happy reading, Librarians.

There are four determinations: origin, flower, hour and speech.
If you already wrote one determination, like lantern glorious origin, and write sky no where origin you replace the origin bonus.

Just Runika, you can write four I believe but you can only get a bonus to any specific principle from two of them. So the other two are not useful, which strikes me as a bit odd.

I don't know if this was added in an update, but I have managed to write in three determinations:
1 for origin, 1 for color of flower, 1 for who is the eldest Hour.
