Foal Care DLC Guide
By sophanator
This is just everything I know about the foal care DLC since I saw some people complaining about not being able to find the new resources for it, and I don't think any of the guides that have been here have been updated yet.

Resources
I don't have exact locations for every single place you can get these resources yet, and I probably won't end up adding them because I'm expecting someone else to add this info to their guide,,, and I don’t really have the time + I’d only do it if people REALLY want it
Vegetable Fat

Any tree that looks like this should have vegetable fat in it. You have to dismount to harvest it, just like an apple tree. You won't need to harvest a whole lot of trees since you should get about 5 vegetable fat each harvest.
There is:
  • at least one tree in the harbor
  • about 3-4 trees on Cherry Tree Lane/On the way to the Estate
Like I said, I probably won't be finding every resource location so these are the basics.
Grain Protein Powder

Grain protein powder is really easy to find. It is 90% of the time in just about any wheat/grain field you can find, however if you get it from Windswept Fields, you can get about 30, more or less, at once.
  • Windswept Fields
  • Any wheat/grain field
Algae Vitamin Paste

Algae vitamin paste is also really easy to find. I have found it at almost every single beach I visit. You can get a few pieces when you see the algae/leaves/vines/whatever it is, next to the water.
I know for certain you can find it at:
  • Shipwreck Shore
  • Crab Beach
  • Coral Lagoon
Caring for Your Foal

As far as I am concerned, you only need to complete each foal care option once: groom, pet, nurse, feed. Once you complete all of them once it'll give you the stat bonus (even though the game doesn't show you if you got the bonus or not...) when the foal is grown up the next day.
It will not cross out any of the options and will prompt you to keep feeding your foal formula, but I think if you do that it does absolutely nothing.
When you craft your formula, it will use up all of the resources you have collected and create as many formulas as possible--so, if you want to build an olive garden for the vegetable fat, I'd suggest doing it before you craft the formula.

That's all I have! I may end up taking this guide down if any other guides add the foal care info, but for now I just wanted to put some basic stuff out there for anyone who is confused, like I was. :)
