Description
The Combine has killed your family and crippled your life following the Seven Hour War. Show them that you ain't going down without a fight and make them pay for such actions.*

WARNING: I am an amateur GModder, since I have only very basic knowledge of Hammer and no knowledge at all on how to use VSIF2VCD, which means that this campaign is by no means perfect and has flaws here and there. This would affect your overall experience with it, but it shouldn't stop you from completing it. Any feedback is appreciated.

WARNING #2: Speaking of the above, this mod utilizes custom voices for storytelling, which are broken in GMOD. I am sorry to say that I don't know how to fix them, but this issue should not affect gameplay.

NOTE: The first map, depot_02, is just an introductory sequence. If you want to skip that intro, you may directly load the second map (city), or the third map (sewer_02) if you just want to cut to the chase.

DISCLAIMER: This custom campaign has only been tested in sandbox singleplayer, with the only mods being tested with this map are MMOD effects, MMOD HL2 weapon replacements, MWB/TFA/TacRP SWEPs, Combine Soldier model replacements, VManip addons, and HUD addons. I'm sorry to say this, but I cannot guarantee the campaign's stability if you use more complex addons (such as the ones that alter NPC's AI) and/or play it in multiplayer.

ANOTHER DISCLAIMER: This custom HL2 campaign is not mine, as I laid out its original information in the lower part of this description. If the original author wants me to take it down, I'll do so.

REQUIREMENTS:
Half-Life 2
Half-Life 2: Episode 2

This campaign consists of 8 maps, which are located in the "Other" category, and they go in order as shown below:
depot_02 (FIRST, INTRODUCTORY SEQUENCE)
city (NO COMBAT)
sewer_02
sewer_03
wasteland
wasteland_01
wasteland_02 (LAST)
dreamsend (OUTTRODUCTORY CUTSCENE)

*SPOILER ALERT: You won't. This campaign ends abruptly before you get to do so, and unfortunately, the sequel has stalled in development and was ultimately cancelled.

ORIGINAL CAMPAIGN INFORMATION

Enter the mind of Filip Valkas, who lost his parents in the Seven Hour War, and take your revenge on your Combine captors in a new story centred on the Half-Life Universe. Pick up your own crowbar and force your way out of Citizen Containment Zone 19, and lead in the uprising against the alien agressors.

Yeah. In this campaign, he relies on custom voices, which are broken. Unfortunately, as a publisher, I am unable to fix this issue.

is gman supposed to talk?

@Keel!

It depends.

Some custom campaigns don't have the aforementioned "game_sounds_manifest" file. Honestly, it was my first time trying to debug code.

@alexthehunter554 Thank you so much for the fix, man! I assume the method is the same for other mods with custom voices?

@Kool_Aids To my end, wasteland_02 does not crash my GMOD and ran smoothly, aside from the broken custom voices I am unable to fix as a publisher. I only tested this campaign with MMOD effects, MMOD HL2 weapon replacements, MWB/TFA/TacRP SWEPs, Combine Soldier model replacements, VManip addons, HUD addons, custom playermodels, and no other addons. As for you, since one of your addons or your GMOD itself might be causing that map to crash, try verifying GMOD files and disable all of your addons except any of the addons I tested with, then try wasteland_02 again.

@jangwmpt7

I mean, that's why I kinda said that it's up to the player to fix it themselves.

I had a suspicion that the publisher (ie you) can't add that fix.

It's better to make the guide publicly known.

@alexthehunter554 I would use that method to fix the voices, but when I update this mod with the modified .txt file, the Workshop publisher would not let me include ANY “.txt” files (including that .txt file) in that addon, even when I try to bypass the whitelist.

I found a fix.

Go into the scripts folder and find "game_sounds_manifest".

Look for this line of code:
"precache_file" "scripts/game_sounds.txt"
"precache_file" "scripts/game_sounds_ui.txt"
"precache_file" "scripts/game_sounds_player.txt"

Add this line of code to it.
"precache_file" "scripts/sounds/lua.txt"
"precache_file" "scripts/sounds/phx.txt"

Boom. Problem solved.
