Introduction

To start, if you searching for this or interested in that guide you look somelike this man
(man of culture):

Firstly we talk about Items which probably will be very useful during Shadow of the Erdtree, further about weapons, incantations and sorceries, talismans, and farm.
Return to point of that guide, I deside make it to people, who want decide, how they would spend their time untill DLC release, and is it worth it?
For beginers and newcomers
  • Lore and History

Firstly, for those who interested in lore, history of Elden Ring DON'T GOOGLE LORE BEFORE YOU BEAT THE GAME! Yeah, I think that kinda important thing, because game developed so that you can build history of whole ER world by looking for small details, discovering some items, read their descriptions, considering foes and location where they were. It will make your playthrough better, so do it for yourself, it isn't hard as you thought.
Knowladge discovering is important for that game, just look on these guys:
Who are they? You will understand going the same way as them!

    • Attribute basics
Briefly, you have an eight attributes where is: 3 stats atributes
    • Vigor
    • Mind
    • Endurance
those are increase HP,FP, stamina and gives some bonuses like increasing resists to poison and other status effects or increase max equip load(that affects on your roles)
    4 damage attribures
    • Strenght
    • Dexterity
    • Faith
    • Intelligence
those increase your damage by scaling on your weapon\staff\sacred seal,
    • Arcane
which needs you to canst some spells, or use some weapons(mostly for bleed builds), it also incresed your discovery chanse

    • Damage Scaling
When you select your weapon you can see in Attribute Scaling symbols by E to S in order:
    • E, D, C, B, A, S,
or - which means that weapon don't scaling by that attribute. E - lowest affect by attribute, S - higher.
You also can see basic weapon damage at left, and + damage by your attributes at right
DLC leveling system and more

Leveling System
People who plays Shadow of the Erdtree expansion says a lot about new leveling system, But let’s take it step by step.
Character level on the test is 150, intermediate level when people mostly finish game, or starts NG +, so if your level near to that number you can don't worry about it much. More important thing here is new leveling system inside DLC called Scadutree Blessing, which scaling your stats up much higher than they would normally. You will increase Scadutree Blessing level by Scadutree Fragments which can be found on whole Realm of Shadow.

New weapons and more
Over 100 new weapons and 8 weapon types wait us in comming DLC.
New weapon types:
  • Thrusting Shields
  • Light Greatsword
  • Great Katanas
  • Beast Claws
  • Parfume Bottles
  • Reverse-hand Swords
  • Hand-to-hand Arts
  • Throwing Weapons
DLC

In Shadow of the Erdtree trailer we saw a lot new areas and foes, some bosses and mini-bosses, and see many hints and obvious stuff which lead us to speculate about what we might need in coming DLC.

Stimulating Boluses
We saw an AOE sleep incantation and sleepy swamp in trailer(screenshots below), so we can expect that in DLC will be more enemies and incantation with sleep effect, that make Stimulating Boluses really useful(likely).
Crafting materials:
Cave Moss x1
Slumbering Egg x1
Herba x1

Also: Nomadic Warrior's Cookbook [16]
Sleep stuff.

Clarifying Horn Charm +1
Clarifying Horn Charm raises Focus by 140(+1 version), improving resistance to Sleep and Madness.
So, we back to thing that I said before, we saw a lot sleep stuff, so prepairing tools to oposittion is that we need. Also toxic swamp and strange bloodborne dude can have a madness effect, from which this Talisman also protects.
How to get:Found on a corpse in the middle and at the lowest floor of a ruin in Nokron, Eternal City.
Dude and his swamp.

In trailer we saw new soldier type, Gravity solders, so mostly they would have few gravity spells against us(whic give us magical damage), so be better if we prepare to those tricks before meet them at fight.
Spelldrake Talisman +2
Spelldrake Talisman +2 reduces Magic Damage taken by 20%. (Effect reduced to 6% in PvP.)
Hot to get: Spelldrake Talisman +2: Found in the secret catacombs underneath the Hidden Path to the Haligtree by turning right just before the Stray Mimic Tear's boss door, following the corridor up and taking the lift. The talisman can be found on a corpse in an alcove at the top. See the location's page for details on how to get to the catacombs.

Reinforced and Actual in Shadow of the Erdtree

Here I will talk only stuff which was buffed by Shadow of the Erdtree patch, or which become more needed in Elden Ring. IPORTANT here I WONT talk about broken build and etc. just about stuff which now really can be used, or be pretty helpful during journey across Realm of Shadow.

Firstly, it Holy Damage as damage type, now and incantations and weapons with Holy Damage feels much stronger than other, that's cool. Golden Epitath give good buff, but also give more damage to new Shadow Birds, which is incredibly useful. That just one example, but really using Holy incantations now give you much more damage apportunities than before. espessially buffed Golden Order incantations, cuzz now they also can be buffed by new Dryleaf Seal which boosts Miquella's incantations by 15% and those that follow: Discus of Light ; [bT]riple Rings of Light [/b] ; Radagon's Rings of Light ; Multilayered Ring of Light.
That buff work together with Golden Order Seal, that gives us 25% damage increase totally. Also you will get some items, which allows you obtain even 45% damage increse, but this sould be spoiler to tell which item gives it.

So now using a holy incantations more accurate than were before, so if you had something from holy incantation\weapon list, now you can surely use them knowing, that right easier way to kill most foes in DLC. You will see best holy weapons and Incantations in "Incantatipot pt.1" and 'Interesting Weapons list' sections, also in 'Enhantion spells' you will find all ways to buff your Holy Damage if you need this, so you can look at your options.

Holy damage Improvement is good, but did they buff something else? Yeas. In Shadow of the Erdtree you will find Talismans which incresed your damage after critical damage, stacking Madness\Sleep on your foes.

Madness
Mostly FromSoft's buffs Frenzied Flame and Madness by adding new Pots and consumables, which stack Madness, no new weapon, just powerfull, but only one incantations, that's sad, but it still improvement.

Aged One's Exultation
Here interesting moment, that Aged One's Exultation increase your damage by 20%(12.5 in PVP) while any of your enemys have Madness on him, you don't need full stack of it.

Sleep
St. Trina's Smile one of the steps to improoving Sleep status effect and make him much better. St. Trina's Smile gives you 20% of damage increase during 30 second after giving Sleep to victinity. Also we have new Eternal Sleep, which gives us chance to repost enemy, or attack him whole duration without his intervention and sleep reset. New Eternal Sleep pots, St.Trina Sword and more, what quite good Sleep inprovement.

St. Trina's Smile

That's a little piece of all new talismans, weapons and consumables which open window to new builds and playstyle's, two-handed armament improvement, Magma improvement, backsteps and shield improvement, now you have MUCH more options to build your character FULL as you wish, by crit damage or shield, heavy armaments or arcane, stombs and storms, so I just can't count all the new possibilities.

Messmer build?
I tried to make a Messmer build before DLC release, and what I did

  • Slide Attack
To reproduce this attack I used Partisan spear with Flame of the Redmanes ash of war. Partisan spear have slide attack on her own, but with ash of war that looks much better, and more like real Messmer's moveset(I think so). But not only spear with slide attack we want to reproduse, also and his spells, so now I show you Sorceries and Incantation version, you can mix them if you want, but I don't like that gamestyle so I didn't it.
Armor Set
  • Drake Knight Helm(Altered)
  • Drake Knight Armor(Altered)
  • Zamor Bracelets(On screenshot you can see diferent one, but Zamor is final version.)
  • Black Knife Greaves

Sorceires version

So in Sorceries version of the build I used Roiling Magma as a bomb which I throw near foes and blow them up. Here I mostly use that spell and ash of war, to deal fire damage at melee range, also I used an Axe Talisman and Ritual Sword Talisman to increase default spear damage, cuz Partisan have a horizontal swing as a charge attack it can be useful in some cases. You can change your Talismans for your personal tastes, but I dont really advice you use a Fire Scorpion Charm because in magic version you doesn't have incantation buffs(likely) so you can't cover debuff by using incantations buffs, but if you wish Boiled Crab always available.
Incantation version
I like incantations much more that Sorceries, and to be honest, incantations have much more fire spells, so yeah, it's stronger(I think so).
You can see all spells down here, and briefly: Catch flame fast and strong spell with low FP cost, you can spam them and deal awesome damage ; Giantflame take thee Strong explosive incantation with huge radius ; Flame, fall upon them needs against group of enemies and bosses which very love to dodge your projectiles(Malenia, I about you) ; Burn, O flame for AOE damage around character, useful against large bosses, espessial when they near you, and Flame, Grant Me Strength with Flame, Protect Me need no explanation.

And here talismans, I like use Flock's Canvas Talisman to increase all incantation damage with Fire Scorpion Charm to maximize our damage potential, Radagon's Icon to cast faster and some damage negation talisman, cuz while I test that build against foes and bosses I find that here we take a lot of damage, yeah it easily fix by using buffs, but sometime you cant cast whem at fight, so I chose to take physical one for me. About spear, in Incantation Messmers verion I use spera only to hit foes when Catch flame can't, but also I don't far enough to cast long range projectiles.

Here you can see my Messmer's nuild showcase against Radagon and Malenia to it by your own eyes:

Usage: Because of many different damage types which incantations have, 8% buff to them all sound like a really good deal. If you use other talismans to buss your incantation damage or elemental damage(unphysical), when totally your Damage increase will be incredable.

Enhantion spells

IMPORTANT IFORMATION:
Incantation weapon buffs are Faith scaling, so best damage bonus will be by useng Faith based Sacred Seal, and best option will be Erdtree Seal. For example Order's Blade cast from Golden Order Seal 10+ at Int 99 and Faith 99 gives 194 Holy damage, when if its cast through Erdtree Seal +10 at 99 Faith it gives 275 Holy damage. This applies to all enhancement spells. Although some have lower faith scaling, resulting in reduced damage, the dependency on faith and faith-based Sacred Seal remains constant in all cases.

  • +100% damage to undead.
  • Great duration in 90 seconds.
Cons:
  • Can't be applied to added or innate elemental infusion, also that works to special weapons which cannot be buffed too.
Usage: That incantation buff perfectly work at early and mid game, because you can buy it from D after defeating first Tbia Marinor, and actually use that buff from game begining. Also as a bonus we have a huge number of Faith-buffing staff at early game as a Faith-knot Crystal Tear which gives +10 faith for 3 minutes, Sacred Scorpion Charm which gives incresing Holy damage by 12% and later in Liurnia we can get Holy-Shrouding Cracked Tear which also incresed Holy damage but on 20%, so here we have so many buffes near starting Area, Limgrave, Weeping Peninsula and Liurnia of the Lakes(I don't say about Caelid because you can defeat Anastasia, Tarnished-Eater don't go insade Caelid much, she pretty close to Limgrave so you even don't need go far for it. Also very important buff is +100% damage to Undead, beacause here you have many dungeons wish sceletons (For example Deathtouched Catacombs where you can find Uchigatana), Tibia Marinors, Deathbirds and in Limgrave and in Liurnia of the Lakes we have and Deathbirds and Tibia Marinors, so in early and mid game that binus really make your leveling and exploration easier

  • Can be applied to more weapons than Order's Blade
Cons:

Usage: You can get early, in 30-40 levels, but mostly by runnig, so eah, it mostly mid-game spell, but I get it really early(at 22 leven in my first playthrough) and I can say that this is really good weapon buff, on bosses like Godrick or Margitt/morgott, they don't have much resistance to poison, so you can quickly stack poison, and be sure that even if don't attack whem they anyways get damage, that's good. That give you more opportunities to play more passively for some time. With Kindred of Rot's Exultation you get damage increasing by 20% during 20 seconds after poising or rot your foes, and if you don't trying to speedrun to Leyndell, you get that talisman earlier than Lord of Blood's Exultation, which give you same buff but after bloodloss.

Pros:

  • Solid damage
  • Holy Damage really useful to cleaning catacombs and beating dead foes, have wonderfull damage to them(but usually foes have around 20-40% defence to Holy damage, it's easy to get around by buffes, talismans .
Cons:
  • Firstly, it's Holy damage, yeas, I put it here, because, I really love Holy incantations, Holy damage type, and people really overhated that damage type just because of that has few vulnerable foes or foes with zero defense, and partly it is right, and less main bosses have vulnerability to Holy Damage, and some of them have hight defence(Margitt/margitt(he have only Holy defence) Maliketh, Radagon\Elden Beast), and I can't help but point this out.
  • Charged cast powerful, but not always can be used against foes and invadors, default verion of Radagon's rings not such strong, but casts faster.
Usage:Wonderful AOE around you, great damage, good range, perfectly suitable to cast while enemies come closer to you, have charged and non charged verion(which quite better because of range, Radagon and Godfrey icon), which you can use as a pvp and as a pve incantation

Dragon Community incantations
So, here I would start from Dragon community incantations, you may see that I put only few of them, but why? Firstly – they all are very strong, you don't be wrong if you chose other one exept I described before, but these, for me personally, seems like best from the best, they all good, but these are a little better, so yes, if you like Ekzykes's Decay more instead Rotten Breath there is no problem.

Usage:Shard Spiral sorcery which great deall much damage to slow or "static" foes, I mean that against extra fast foes like Royal Revenant, Malenia, Radagon, that spell can be usen only in specific moment of the fight, but there we can have better options to deal damage, so Shard Spiral really great against most foes in game, but needs right usage from their owner.

Farm Items, Talismans, Weapons

Here I just describe which talismans, items, weapons, and spells will help you in farm, but plase and type of farming you choose by yourself.

  • Items and Talismans

Gold Scarab
Increases Rune acquisition by 20%.
The effect stacks with the Gold-Pickled Fowl Foot consumable item for a total of 56% increase.
  • Location:Dropped by the Cleanrot Knight (Sickle) & Cleanrot Knight (Spear) dual boss found in the Abandoned Cave. It can be accessed by going east from the Smoldering Wall Site of Grace, and walking across the canyon by using tree branches.

  • Usage:
You can take it talisman while you clean up dangeons and caves, or side locations, and yeas, increasing rune acquisition by 20% is really good bonus, you can feel it on any NG level.

Silver Scarab
Silver Scarab raises Item Discovery by 75.
  • Location: Found in a chest in Hidden Path to the Haligtree. In the large central room, there is a broken section of railing. There, you can drop down to an invisible platform, and walk to a small room. The chest is past an Illusory Wall.

  • Usage:
You often need some weapons, armor set for customisation or practical usage, or materials for items craft(an example of which you will see below) and would be better if these things farms esier.

Gold-Pickled Fowl Foot
When used, the foot boosts runes gained by 30% for 3 minutes.
The effect is not removed when resting at a site of grace. However, the effect is removed after fast-traveling to a site of grace.
Coockbook and craft materials:
Missionary's Cookbook [2]
Rowa Fruit x3
Four-Toed Fowl Foot x1
Gold Firefly x1

Usage:
That item really well increase your runes gained and combos well with Gold Scarab, so I think that it is really must-have thing for any farm in game.

Silver-Pickled Fowl Foot
When used, the foot increases Discovery by 50 for 3 minutes.
The effect is not removed when resting at a site of grace, however the effect will be removed upon dying or using fast travel.

@Coolsleeper, I know about that, but thanks for note. I don't think that for most people at few early playthrough Freanzied Flame seal would fit good. In PVP yes, in PVE FFS will be great after few NG+ when most of your stats could be equally high. About Soreseals, I put them because they're great at first playthrough, and possible at second one if some of your stats really low, but you want try some weapon or spells, but yes after a certain moment using them have no sense. Sorry for taking so long to answer.

Just a note, when you're at a level like 120+ the radagon starts doing more bad than good. The vigor given does not counteract the damage increase so, if you're confused as to why you're taking so much damage its probably because of the soreseal. However, for the Markia soreseal it depends on your stats. If you have 90 in int or faith there isn't a big reason to use the soreseal because the int and faith softcaps are at that level (softcaps are the point where any more points in that stat have diminishing returns). Another note about faith specifically, if you have a diverse stat distribution with a good amount in other combat stats then you might want to consider the frenzied flame seal because the frenzied flame seal scales off all combat stats. Use eip.gg build planner to see if it's worth for your build.
