Filtering out COD/Anime/P*rn mods from Workshop searches
By Witch
Tired of anime, generic call of duty weapons and models, and p*rn mods constantly appearing in your workshop searches? I can help partially fix that issue!

This solution is not fool proof, as it will not get rid of every single mod that you don't want to see, but it does help remove a bunch of them.

The workshop search bar has a limited amount of characters you can put into, so sadly you can only make a handful of filters before you run out of space, but it should still be helpful.
Introduction
One hidden feature that the workshop doesn't let you know of is that you can use Google's Boolean search, which means that you can filter out certain words and characters from your workshop searches, preventing results with those words from showing. I learned about it from this guide.

I'm simply going to show you a helpful query that you can base yours off of in order to filter out the most common anime/COD/p*rn mods, along with a little bonus.
The Query and the Bonus
ellis NOT Miku NOT R18 NOT Neptunia NOT "Genshin Impact"

Replace ellis with whatever you want to search with. You can even search with just the filters, if you just want to browse the workshop aimlessly.

Note: if you want to use names with multiple spaces, use quotes "" like I did with Genshin Impact above.

ellis NOT 的 NOT 一 NOT 是

This seems to filter out alot of chinese characters, so it could be helpful if alot of anime mods use the chinese language (thanks ECHO!)

This should get rid of some anime mods, if you want to get rid of COD mods (which are easier to minimize than anime mods), you can use these keywords that frequently appear in titles:

  • COD:MW
  • MW2019 (or any year past this really)
  • Black Ops
  • COD (using this alone is ideal to get rid of most, use COD:MW if you just want to get rid of modern warfare stuff)

P*rn mods are a bit more difficult to filter out since they have diverse titles, but these keywords could help:
  • R18
  • Nude
  • R34

BONUS

If whenever in the future, the character limit for the workshop search bar increases dramatically...

you can use this giant search query I made which filters out every single chinese letter (that translates to an english letter), effectively removing more chinese mods on the workshop, along with some other anime titles. (Thanks to senzawa for pointing out that the query below doesn't filter the whole chinese alphabet)

ellis NOT "Genshin Impact" NOT Miku NOT Neptunia NOT R18 NOT "Girls' Frontline" NOT 诶 NOT 必 NOT 比 NOT 西 NOT 弟 NOT 迪 NOT 衣 NOT 伊 NOT 艾付 NOT 艾弗 NOT 记 NOT 吉 NOT 爱耻 NOT 艾尺 NOT 挨 NOT 艾 NOT 宅 NOT 杰 NOT 开 NOT 饿罗 NOT 艾勒 NOT 饿母 NOT 艾玛 NOT 恩 NOT 艾娜 NOT 呕 NOT 哦 NOT 披 NOT 屁 NOT 酷 NOT 吉吾 NOT 耳 NOT 艾儿 NOT 艾斯 NOT 艾丝 NOT 踢 NOT 提 NOT 忧 NOT 伊吾 NOT 维 NOT 大波留 NOT 豆贝尔维 NOT 埃克斯 NOT 艾克斯 NOT 歪 NOT 吾艾 NOT 再得 NOT 贼德
That's all, folks!
I hope this guide helps you clean up your workshop from many undesired mods!

if only there was something like this when you want to search by tags
it's impossible to filter by the tag system because everyone just marks their addon with every tag possible anyway

@DRUG APPROVED✰!!! Anime mods aren't based when the Workshop is being flooded with them every day to the point that you have to search through a sea of them just to find something you might find interesting.
