Good for people wanting to learn the game or just go for easy achivements.

Introduction
Transliminal is a backrooms game with a strong focus on replay-ability and atmosphere. You assume the role of "Victor" who unfortunately finds himself in the backrooms after a skydiving incident. This guide will cover almost everything you can find/do in the backrooms.

Level 0
Level 0 :

This level is the one victor spends most of his time in. This is due in fact to the overworld like nature that serves as a gateway around Transliminal. It has the look of level 0 that is famous to the backrooms.

This level has closet rooms that can harbor multiple items these include -
A. Batteries (Once you find a flashlight they act as fuel for it).
B. Man Meat (They increase victors health).
C. Almond Water (Restores lost vitality).
D. Court Key (Unlocks the basketball courts in blacktops).
E. Electric Key (Lets you unlock the doors in pipes to the electrics area).
F. The Phase Emitter - This weapon you acquire later that lets you kill entities/remove walls.
G. Capacitors - These act as fuel for the phase emitter you get 4 shots per capacitor.

This level also features file cabinets and office desks that can hold items such as -
A. Coin (This is used in vending machines to buy almond waters/energy drinks).
B. Cassette Player/Tapes (The player is used to play audio tapes/music total 34).
C. Batteries
D. Flashlight
E. Doll Parts (this is used to assemble a creepy doll and is tied with mothers ending).
F. Compass (Used around transliminal like the electrics to find the heart).
G. Trinkets (They serve as the collectibles of the backrooms only the dream catcher cannot be collected here).
H. Ringing Phones (The office desks can have a ringing phone on top of them that can lead to the a-sync ending and also have other creepy stuff happen).
I. Notebook Pages (The office desks can have multiple notebook pages to collect on top of them).

Another important object you can find in level 0 is the refrigerator. Inside you can find one of two things so make sure to check the freezer as well -
A. Almond Water
B. Batteries
On rare occasions the refrigerator can unleash spores onto victor damaging him so be careful.

A rare spawn in level 0 includes the teleportation orb which can emit a sound when nearby so make sure to look for it if you hear it.

Level 0 can also spawn edible blue room shrooms. When consumed they can restore small amounts of health but they raise sanity meter so be cautious.

This level also has red spots on the carpet that can burn victor causing damage. You can notice these spots by dripping sounds/visual dripping.

Kitchen cabinets can spawn frequently in level 0 which holds the following items -
A. Cassette tapes/player
B. coins
C. Doll parts
D. Dreamcatchers
E. Trinkets

In level 0 to find is perhaps the most useful item in transliminal the backpack. You usually find this item hanging from a parachute when you father into the level so look out for it.

One of the most rare spawns is a couch with a person named bob sitting on it. In front of him is a tv. Interacting with the couch plays 1 of 2 dif sequences on the tv. After it concludes bob vanishes and leaves behind either a almond water or energy drink next to the couch.

Spores can also spawn frequently in level 0. They look like plants and will damage you with spores if you get close enough.

occasionally you may run into what looks like holes in walls. jump into them and crawl to the center if you have found enough tapes you will unlock a special area by chance that even has a very helpful weapon but more on that later.

Vending machines are common spawns and will offer usually 1 or 2 two things to buy -
A. Almond Water
B. Energy Drinks

The farther you travel into level 0 the more run down and creepy it gets. Thick smoke can damage you in certain areas here so tread carefully. There is also holes you can fall into.

Perhaps the rarest spawn of level 0 will have to be the colored walls/carpet variants they don't really change game play but are cool visual changes.

If you keep walking in one direction long enough you will start to notice the area gets cut off and replaced by the cogwell matrix level (metal walkways) That marks the end of level 0.











Pipes
Pipes :

Pipes is a level that's made up of long to short hallways of pipes and tunnels. Sometimes the pipes will leak hot air burning victor. Dead ends are often common here.

Sometimes rooms will spawn that contain -
A. Vending machines
B. Office desks
C. Phones
D. Refrigerators (not 100% sure on this one)

This level also has rooms that have 4 possible directions to go in.

You can exit this level a few ways -
A. Find an exit door
B. Find an elevator
C. Find the electrics entrance
D. Killed by a smiler/death moth/steam

Not much in the way of rare events here but finding a vending machine room is always cool.












Electrics
Electrics :

The Electrics is a maze of brick walls and rooms that can be unlocked with the maintenance key. Other rooms exist that do not need the key.

In the maintenance key rooms you can find the following -
A. Office desks
B. Phones
C. Telephones
D. Heart of electrics

After you unlock the heart of electrics (by collecting certain amount of tapes/getting the phase emitter gun) you can return here with the compass to help guide you to the heart area.

The heart of electrics is a device that allows you to travel anywhere you have been too already. It's a major plot device. You can anchor victor to this device and every time he "dies" you will be sent back here instead of level 0. The console lets you select levels and all you need to do is touch the orb to go to any level. (you will need to insert a phase emitter into the device first).




Cogwell Matrix
The cogwell matrix is a level focused on high walkways and cubby rooms as I like to call them. These rooms can have -

1. Phones
2. Refrigerators
3. Smilers
4. Vending machines
5. Exits to other levels (elevators etc).
6. Desks/cabinets with items similar to level 0.

You can also fall into the abyss down below to change level as well. This level is always found at the end of level 0.

Blacktops
The blacktops is a large open parking lot space with an eerie atmosphere. In this level you can find entities in the form of mist and also -

1. Entrance to the hotel (You cannot enter the hotel this way you must use an elevator from Level 0/pipes/cogwell matrix etc). You can however come to this level from the hotel using the lobby hotel key.

2. Basketball courts (you need the court key to unlock the gates to shoot hoops).

3. Bathrooms that serve as exits.

You can find the playgrounds at the edge of the blacktops if you want to visit there.

Keys
Around transliminal you can find multiple keys. These keys serve several purposes -

1. Court Key - this key lets you unlock the courts in blacktops to shoot basketball hoops. This key can be found in closets in level 1.

2. Hotel Lobby Key - This key lets you exit the bottom floor hotel to lead you to the blacktops. This key is always found in the reception desk room in hotel entrance.

3. Maintenance Key - This key lets you unlock doors in the electrics. This key is smaller than the other keys so can be hard to find but is always in Level 0 closets like court key.

4. Electrics Key - This key lets you enter the electrics area from pipes. It is always found in Level 0 closets.

RUN!
The hospital is a level you can only reach from elevators. The focus of this level is to high tail it to an exit before the army of smilers reaches you. The phase emitter is recommended for this area as it kills entities. Not much else to say about this level currently.
Hotel
Hotel is a level that can be reached from only an elevator. (You can hit button 5 on the elevator to automatically be taken to it). The hotel has a few points of interest -

1. Bob can spawn in the door hallways.

2. You can find items in the hotel room drawers (Almond water/coins etc)

3. You can find a notebook page on the front reception desk and a hotel lobby key inside the reception desk room.

4. You can leave the hotel through exits in the door hallways/Lobby exit doors on floor 1.

The Phase Emitter
The phase emitter is a weapon found in closets/cubbys of level 0 after collecting certain number of cassette tapes. You need a capacitor (found in the same room as the gun) to use it.

1. Each capacitor holds 4 shots.

2. Aim it and fire a shot at entities to phase them and kill them.

3. You can also phase certain walls in electrics/level 0 with this.

4, After you run out of ammo go to the heart of electrics and insert it into the machine. Once you do that you are allowed to find another phase emitter in closets/cubbys of level 0.
Poolrooms
The poolrooms is a classic backrooms level that can be found in transliminal a few ways -

1. Level 0 can spawn an entrance to the poolrooms.

2. The metal door exits in other levels can take you here as well.

3. You can find the respirator mask here alongside almond water in the lockers.

In this level you can find vending machines and also lockers.

Travelling further into the level spawns the "Darkrooms" a dark version of the poolroms. Sanity levels can also turn the water blood red in this level.
LSD
The LSD level is found at random in an elevator. This level is a simple maze with a trippy effect not much to talk about. But you can however exit the level by finding the maze exit and falling into the abyss.
Playgrounds
My personal favorite level, The playgrounds can be found several ways -

1. The slides in level 0 can either take you to poolrooms or the playgrounds.

2. Heart of electrics can take you there once you have unlocked it.

This level has an event where the sky will turn black like nighttime and the vibe changes. The sky will then at random turn red and mothers fingers will spawn. They will chase you and if they touch you it will transport you to mothers realm. Inside this realm will be an army of mothers dolls and sticking around will result in a bad ending for victor. However if you exit through a door/window you will escape the realm and end up back in level 0.

You can switch between night/daytime by playing tic tac toe at the jungle. Be warned this can result in the red effect. Dolls will spawn at random jungle gyms during daytime.

You can leave the level by locating a Truman show like cloud wall at the edges of the level then climb a staircase and exit out of a door.

You can also interact with various things in this level like sides/pirate ship wheels etc.
Entities
Transliminal has a variety of entities common to the lore of backrooms such as -

1. Smilers - Possibly the most common entity you will encounter, smilers will attack and "kill" victor if they catch you. If you see a smiler in the distance looking at you, simply turn around and turn back around again and it should be gone (sometimes you have to do this more than once to work).

2. Dolls - These slow moving entities patrol mothers realm and the playgrounds. They can easily be avoided but will damage victor if they touch him.

3. Mist entity - This entity often spawns at the blacktops and will damage victor by touching it.

4. Dullers - This entity is found in level 0 and will rush at victor usually from behind to steal a random item from him (Almond water/energy drink/flashlight etc). If you hear it in proxy to you simply time a jump and the duller will go under you and run away. They also like to spawn infront of victor beforehand as a warning.

5. Shadow entity - This entity often spawns in level 0 and will surround victor in darkness before jump scaring with a rather evil looking old lady picture. I'm not sure what causes these to spawn however.

6. Death moths - These will spawn in the cogwell matrix pipes etc if you shine a flashlight at them they will attack you. They can also do damage if they touch you.

7. Mothers fingers - This entity is immortal and will take chase towards you during the red event in playgrounds. If you get touched by the fingers you will be transported to mothers realm.

8. Spores - Found in level 0 on walls and inside things like refrigerators these entities will release a toxic spore field into the air damaging Victor the longer he breaths it in.

Sanity
The sanity mechanic in transliminal is very interesting in the fact it can alter the world around victor such as -

1. A high negative sanity can cause doors in level 0 to run away from victor in a triply sequence.

2. Pitfalls will spawn in level 0 with a negative sanity.

3. Victor can see bugs crawling on the walls if he has a negative sanity in level 0.

4. Holes will open up in level 0's floors with negative sanity levels.

5. In the poolrooms the water will turn blood red with negative sanity.

6. The camera will begin to move and sway with higher negative sanity levels (can be turned off in the settings menu,)

Tapes with a red icon found around transliminal will rapidly drain sanity while the green tapes rapidly restore sanity. You can also lose sanity by waiting around level 0 and other places and certain things will occur in level 0 if you go AFK. Sanity will also drain if you eat Carpet shrooms found in level 0 and other places.

Nearby entities will also drain sanity like mothers fingers. Generally speaking if you keep moving and avoid entities your sanity will stay at positive levels.

Sanity levels can also effect other things but if I had forgotten any effects/events cause by it let me know in the guide comment section.
Endings
Transliminal does in fact have endings. They are as followed be warned spoilers -

1. A-sync - You can get this ending by answering 7 phone calls found in level 0 from ringing phones. You can also find phones in other levels like cogwell matrix. Once you answer all 7 calls and have a 7 phone icon on the pause menu then you can simply find an exit and you will be taken to a more classical version of level 0 where you will find the ending. Follow the line on the floor and you will see a room with computer equipment. Take the paper from the nearby desk then activate the computer and a nearby door will be phased, enter the door and you will find the ending. Victor escapes the backrooms finally but all is not well as he ends up stuck in the future forever :(.

2. Mothers Ending - This ending occurs if you hang around mothers realm for long enough. Mother will make victor one of her "children" ending the game.

Menus
The menus in transliminal are valuable as they serve multiple purposes such as -

1. They show you the trinkets you have found.

2. If you have found the backpack item which increases inventory space for almond waters/lets you stock 1 energy drink.

3. Victors sanity level is shown as a spiral.

4. You can also select tapes from the cassette tape player.

5. Will show you if you have a compass/phase emitter in inventory.

6. You can adjust various visual settings/res settings/volume/exit game.

7. You can view notebook pages found throught transliminal.

- I'm still trying to find the key to room 113. Hoping that's not a red herring. Expecting to find it on a key board like all of the other keys (other than the lobby key) in the various closets on level 0.

- Haven't made it to the LSD or Cave levels. Hoping there's something that isn't RNG cursed to get to them.

- On Level 1. I was really hoping that the exit for that area was going to be on a consistent level ... (found on the top level the first time, second time, after searching for a longer than expected time, I ended up drinking poison to get out ) ... random placement & the size of those (10?) levels ... and having the circumference of all of those levels ... that's a huge amount of walking simulator time.

Thank you for what you've provided. Appreciated.

There are a number of missing elements I'd love to know more about:

- the 7(? not remembering the exact number) harnesses that you put the emitters into at the HOE ... I'm expecting there's an ending when you have all of them that relates back to what's been discussed by the researcher on the tapes. Kinda felt like this is probably the main line of the story ...

- I made it to the control room on the Kane Pixel's level 0. When I walk in, I get the same reaction that the "Peter" character got when he ended up there ( alarms ) But the exit is locked and I don't have anything useful for the computer (maybe I haven't found it). Exitting level 0 again after receiving the seven phone calls for the second time did not lead me back to the KP0. Definitely didn't encounter The Threshold.

So I have a question that I'm assuming no one will answer. So, when you get the phone calls, all of them, you get the "A new path opens" which leads to the A-Sync ending. But, what I want to know is what when I collect certain tapes, I get that same "a new path opens", same with with I found the first doll part. Is there an ending somehow related to the tapes? What new path opens?

Why don't batteries spawn much? I find some but like not until I run out. Also, I seem to have gotten stuck as I've found all 7 phone calls but am in an are where it's too dark to see anything going forward. What the hell am I supposed to do? if I had another battery it would be fine but I am fresh out. I feel like the game fucked me over greatly here.

i thought they was random (elevator button)
anyway if you find a certain place as mentioned in the guide you can switch levels...i don't get if you must be killed to end in the "hub" since when you (for example) fall in the void you go back in the level 0
also saving is another thing, like the game save the items you collect but the place should be the hotel (according to the dev) as a place where you spawn

I'm very curious what the different elevator buttons do. So far, everything seems totally random except for 5 taking you to the Hotel, the alert call button taking you to the Hospital, 0 taking you to the classic backrooms, and B/LL taking you to the pipes.
