Introduction
Hello there, traveler.

I've been playing Palia for a while pre-steam release, I love the game. However I am a heavy steam user, and any game that uses a launcher that I can get on steam, I will. I was pretty happy knowing Palia was coming to steam and when it finally did, I promptly uninstalled the standalone launcher.

While, I was happy to delete an icon from my desktop and have more of my games on steam, the steam launch was... Less than stellar. There are a few major issues that I did not have on the standalone launcher version of the game. So I'm going to get into those and see if I can help some of you playing Palia for the first time out.
My Computer Specs for Context
Resolution: 1440p165+HDR (2560x1440 @ 165hz refresh)
CPU: Ryzen 7 7800X3D
GPU: RTX 2080
RAM: 2 x 16GB, 6000MHz 30CL
(INCREASE FPS) Steam Launch Command - DirectX11
Palia performs much better in DX11. Which is in an option in-game but for whatever reason, the setting does not save. You can click on the drop down and then get told to restart your game,

Hey Singularity, you also made a typo spelling "recommended"

You're welcome. :)

Well then the config files don't actually have a value for changing DirectX so nothing happens.

Follow these steps; (It's easy)
1. Right-Click "Palia" in your steam library & select "Properties"
2. Under "Launch Options" type -dx11 (Include the dash -)

That's it, no save button. Just click play. Your game will now open in DirectX11 with a significant performance increase.

Here is a small example of DX12 vs DX11, in the same spot.

This is DX12 @ 83FPS
This is DX11 @ 143FPS (Note: The lighting difference is the 'Time of Day' in-game changing)
Issues I found so far.
SINGULARITY FIX THESE NOW
Unable to move after opening a guild shop from an NPC and pressing 'ESC' to close it. Like completely unable to move.
You have to ALT+F4 and log back in. Which is quick, but a major inconvenience and annoying.

Thank you, I don't seem to be experiencing this issue anymore.

(Use the Guild Shop Cash Registers instead of talking to the NPC. Talking to the NPC causes the inability to move.)
(You can also access Guild Shops from NPCs if you press "G", but you have to close the shop by manually clicking the 'X' at the top right. using 'esc' will cause a freeze.)
(Also if the NPC walks away. Yeah.. That'll do it too. You have to manually click on the 'X')

@LajuNatangNi Go into the settings, under graphics. Change the first setting called "Quality Preset" to "High" Or "Epic", then restart your game. You should be able to see rocks.
