Die Hard Democratic Guide - Updated to 3.0.7

You want to democratize Sordland and you also want to stay RP, you can follow my advices.

Introduction

After many tests and attempts, I have finally finished my Suzerain’s social-democratic run. Here is a guide to the people who want a social-democrate Rayne with mixed economy policies in 3.0.

What this guide is for : To the people that want a democrat Rayne but not a full reformist, we don’t want to piss off the Sollist but we want a democratic Sordland. Also we are in favor of free-market, but we don’t want a full Capitalist Sordland. Our goal is to make Sordland the new Sweden. So a free-market economy with good welfare and the critical branches of the country stay in the hands of the State, with a democratic society, minority rights and equality between man and woman. Some decisions will be made in favor of RP for an uncorrupted Rayne and realist reform, Sordland has a Sollist legacy, we respect the Colonel but Sordland needs to change to survive.

What this guide is not for : To the people that want a perfect guide, we don’t align with the meta-game, some decisions will be RP-friendly, so it may not be the best choice. Also the devs do not favor politics, they made the game in a way that there are not “best choices” (for a few decisions, there is a best choice, but a very few of them). The best choice for the devs is to focus on your objectives, if you want to go Dictator, choose the best decisions for a dictator, do not enact democratic reform and break the Old Guard if you want to be a new Soll…

Remember to be polite, nice, be the Leader that everyone wants to have, you must push the people to greatness, not crush them for your pleasure. Also, everyone has his own political agenda, and you can count only on a few people to make decisions.

Goals

Politics : Transform Sordland into a social-democracy. Don’t piss off the Old Guards (but the Nationalists can go to hell). But remember the USP needs to survive, so don’t give credit to PFJP and the Communist, they're doing nothing here, it’s you and your team. Your primary goal is to be reelected.

Economy : Mixed economy in favor of free-market. For made that the State must conserve the control on some economics sectors like energy, health and education. Privatize yes, but the State must keep control to not open these sectors to greed and fluctuating prices. Also this guide will show you how to prevent Trade War and Debt Crisis.

Diplomacy : We want to be the new Sweden, so we promote a neutral stance but in favor of Arcasia. We don’t want war, but Rumburg is an imperialist country. We resolve the situation diplomatically without making a deal (don’t make the same mistake as Germany with Putin). Also we are in favor of international cooperation, human rights and beneficial entente.

Your government

You must know who is in the head of each ministry but also their beliefs and political compass. Most important, if they are trustworthy for this run.

Vice-President : Petr Vectern, your best friend, he trusts you and you can trust him but Petr has a problem with alcohol and women. Beware, Sordland has the traditional wisdom of society, divorce and sex scandals can destroy the presidency. However Petr it’s not smart on all subjects, and can’t be the best advisor.

Chief of Staff : Lucian Galade, he's one of your best advisors, but also secretly an ambitious man, he never tries to replace you but good work means good rewards. You can trust him, he never sabotages his work, but never pisses off Lucian, he knows all of your secrets.

Defense Minister : Iosef Lancea, the best General of Sordland. Pro-Sollist, but he never betrays you if you prove you are worthy to be the president. If you are a threat to the country he may coup you. If you are a treat for the Sollist but do good work for the country, he will not coup you but he is not the only guy that can coup you (beware of Valken). If you want a modern army and win the war with Rumburg, Iosef it’s your best man.

Economy Minister : Symon Holl, he's a good guy, a good economist but sometimes he focuses too much on free-market and capitalist policies. Follow the advice of Symon, he will never try to backstab you, he just wants to end the recession with the best manner, and the best manner for his free-market.

Agriculture & Rural development Minister : Gus Manger, i stay neutral on Gus, he’s a good minister but he’s also more capitalist than Symon. Also Gus it’s the guy that if you want something, he has it, keep it in mind. Gus always favors the capitalist way and favors the Oligarchs, when it favors the country or the people, you can trust Gus. But if you think that can only favor the Oligarchs or his business, don’t trust him.

Foreign Affairs & Trade Minister : Deivid Wisci, if Serge has a father, it must be Deivid. He’s your “Jiminy Cricket”, a democrat for the first time, and the wise elder of your government. You can trust Deivid, he’s at the end of his career and never let you down. Also his knowledge about diplomacy is unmatched. Listen to him, he’s here for Sordland, not his personal career.

Education Minister : Ciara Walda, some hate her, some like her, i admit that sometimes i just want to say “shut up Ciara”, but she knows the job. She’s an idealistic reformist, she want to De-Sollinize the Sordish society, and we begin that with school. Also she fight for the women’s right and never refrain to say his views about some subjects. As long you are in favor of a democratic society and women’s rights, you can trust Ciara.

Health Minister : Paskal Beniwoll, he’s a little Deivid, you can completely trust Paskal, his focus only on the welfare and a society that protects the workers. He’s a social-democrat, he can live with free-market but never at the detriment of the people. We want a social-democracy for Sordland so Paskal he’s our man.

Interior Minister : Lileas Graf, she’s a mix of Thatcher, you traditional grand-mother and the old lady that goes to church and says “it was better before”. If you are going to a democratic and equal society, never trust Lileas. There are rumors that say she’s the lover of Soll (or she was). Also her politics is more police to put more “thugs” in prison. Yes, she’s a Boomer. She’s competent and sometimes her advice is good, but remember she’s in favor of the Old Guard and Soll, Planned economy and a Strong State. She’s the perfect minister if you want to go Sollist, but we don’t do that here.

Justice Minister : Nia Morgna, she’s an idealistic lawyer and she will help to enact democratic reforms. She’s like Cira but understands that sometimes we can have all we want. Some rumors say that Nia and Ciara are lovers but I don't think so (it’s not because the two women are friends, they are lovers…). Nia it’s your best hope to pass the reforms constitution from the Supreme Court, so listen to his advice but remember that she wants to maximize the chance of democratic reforms, if she thinks that the reforms can fail, she warns you and advice how to make it pass. If you want to be a dictator, she will be your nemesis in your government, but it’s not the case here so you can completely trust her.

Countries

Your country is not alone, you can isolated yourself or making alliances with others, unity makes strenght after all. But remember, if you need something from another country, this one need something from you. Diplomacy is not charity.

Agnolia :

A little democracy between you and Rumburg. However Agnolia have two territorial contencious with Rumburg and Vlagsland. Rumburg attacked and annexed the territory of Dome in the 20s a bit later after Agnolia invade and annexed the Heljiland islands from Vlagsland. Also, many Agnolians emigrated in Sordland and make the Anglo-Sordish community.

Agnolia have a trade deal with Sordland but the trade advantage only Sordland. The country is very close to the democracy ideals and will be not happy with Sordland if you are a dictator/autocrat. Also, Agnolia have close ties with Arcasia and can join the ATO.

Whelen :

Whelen is like Syrie/Bielorussia/ *insertcountrywithacrazydictator* . Whelen have a little problem with his president : Wiktor Slomak. He's a funny guy but remember he does not hesitate to send hundred of people to jail or worse. Whelen is a big productor of oil but isolated from international scene. The only contry that help Whelen is United Contana only to suppress the influence from Arcasia in Whelen.

Whelen hate Rumburg and Rumburg arms the Bludish Freedom Front to distrupts Slomak's objectives. Whelen need Sordland, but Sordland doesn't need Whelen, remember that.

Vlagsland :

Aaaah Vlagsland, the Vlags are the Sordish cousins, their langage is close to the Sordish but they are commies. Vlagsland have a huge empire sometimes ago but lost everything with the socialist revolution. There are the vanguard of the CSP in Merkopa.

You can ally or make a trade deal with Vlagsland but remember that they hate Agnolia, Lespia and too much capitalism politics. Also they control the sea with their huge navy and can harass your ships.

Lespia :

Lespia is one of the biggest economy of Merkopa, but they are most capitalist than the capitalists. Lespia is also the first of Merkopa to join ATO and accept Arcasian troops on their soil.

You need Lespia but they doesn't need Sordland. They will refuse to trade with or propose a bad trade if you are too communist or attack the capitalism in Sordland with nationalization.

Arcasia :

The USA for the Suzerain Universe. Arcasia will fight for democracy and freedom, and if democracy is like oil, gold or another thing like that, then they will fight for democracy.

Arcasia is one of the two superpower of the Suzerain Universe, and the leader of ATO (Arcasia Treaty Organization, like NATO, subbtle isn't it). Arcasia is the ennemy of United Contana and they have a Cold War between them.

United Contana :

If Arcasia is the USA for Suzerain Universe, United Contana is the USSR. They are the champions of communism and protector of the workers. But don't be a fool, they only want to fight Arcasia by proxy war or influence. They're not as bad as some would have you believe, but they're not angels either.

United Contana is the leader of the CSP (Contanan Security Pact, the Warsaw Pact in Suzerain Universe).

Rumburg :

If i have one thing to say about Rumburg it's : ♥♥♥♥ you !

Rumburg will be your pain in the ass, they are your worst ennemy, try to destabilize Sordland and push you to declare war. Against them you will have to keep your cool, the temptation is strong to push their faces. But remeber, Rumburg is the third superpower in the world, they knew it and they want to compete againts Arcasia and United Contana by the building of nuclear weapons.

Rumburg is the leader of the GRACE, a alliance and economical organization with only monarchies. Rumburg want to put GRACE to the third way between ATO and the CSP.

People of Interest

- Tarquin Soll

Soll is the second president of Sordland, and also the man who put an end in the civil war. Soll was inspired by Franco, Mustafa Kemal and Charles de Gaulle.

The colonel Soll is a hero in Sordland, you respect the man and his legacy, but you must recognize he also hurts democracy and reduces the chance of change in the country. You will learn that Soll is an ambiguous man, he will help you in the shadows if you prove that your choices will help Sordland.

Soll is like a god for the nationalists but Soll doens't like fascists, he knows that he is an old man and the world will change without him. He just want to protect what he builds from many years.

But don't be foolish, he was a dictator but even Devid Wisci will recognize that without him, Sordland maybe doesn't exist and nobody can't be in his shoes.

- Gloria Tory

Tory is the Speaker of the Assembly, and also at the head of the conservatives of the USP, the first party of Sordland, founded by Soll, and also the player's party.

Tory is secretly for the woman's rights, but knows that change can only be slow and take many years. She want to protect the Soll's legacy but she can be persuaded if it good for the party.

- Albin Clavin

Clavin seem to be the good guy, he's the leader of the left part of the USP and want reforms.

But he's a ambitious and corrupt man. You can learn that he uses his position as member of the Assembly for nepotism.

- Frens Ricter

Also seem to be a good guy, he's the leader of the People's Freedom and Justice. His party is entirely dedicated to a reform of society and the constitution, as well as to workers' and human rights

Like Clavin (but less than him), Ricter can be corrupted, he's close with Arcasia and his president Walker. And tend to capitalism but with the respect of laws and worker's rights.

- Kesaro Kibener

Every democracy have a racist party leader, Kibener is that racist. He's the leader of the National Front Party, a nationalist and pro-fascism party. Kibener is in favor of Soll and also for a strong president with a strong country. Of course, Kibener is against communism, capitalism and minorities.

If you are democrat, just don't listen him. But he's probably the only political leader that don't hide his agenda, he knows he is racist and fascist and doesn't care what others think of him.

- Denis Stahler

Leader of the Communist Party of Sordland, Stahler will be against you because he hates USP, for him it's the party of Soll, so by extension you are like Soll. Stahler is also misogynist, even that he's a communist and normally in favor of women's rights.

- Mansoun Leke

One the few Bluds in the Assembly. Leke is de facto the leader of the Independants at the Assembly and one of the most influent member of the Workers Party of Bludia.

Leke will fight for the Bluds rights but he's not a fool and know that it will take some time to be accomplish. If you go democrat, Leke will agreed with you and you can trust him. He's your best ally for a reconciliation with the Bluds.

- Valken Kruger

Kruger is the old general that want to go to war everytime. He's the Chief of the Armed Forces and the highest ranking officer in the army. He's close to Soll, and obey to you because Soll say it. Valken can coup you so beware with him. Also, he's in favor of gold old wars like trench-warfare, not very modern and can provoke the defeat of Sordland against Rumburg.

- Orso Hawker

If Conservatism have a face, it will be him. Hawker is the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, you can't pass any reform without his approval. He wants to protect Soll's Constitution at all costs.

But his powers is not absolute on the Court than he believes, somebody maybe want his position.

- Karl Greiser

Greiser will change depending on your run, if you are anti-corruption, he will be the champions of the Anti-Police Corruption. But if you form a Secret Police, he will be your Lavrenti Beria.

You can trust Greiser, he's the guy that obey and not power.

- Walter Tusk

Tusk... Tusk... what to say about him, he's the leader of the Oligarchs, one the richest man in Sordland and chairman of the Bergia Steel. Tusk will always ask you for something but I've never given him anything, so don't worry. Tusk know that you are the president and you have the power to break him if you want.

- Marcel Koronti

Marcel is the nemesis of Tusk, he's the richest man of Sordland and have multiples shadows connections. Marcel is at the head of Hearts of Sordland, a conglomerat of multiples societies like Sordland Today. You can be an ennemy of Koronti, like Tusk he knows the president can break him.

- Ewald Alphonso

Your predecessor, the man who ♥♥♥♥ up Sordland. Even if he tries to democratize and liberalize the economy of the country, he's one of the worst manager i have seen. He has a higher opinion of him and blame his failures on the others.

Remember, he's just an other rich guy that want that everyone love him.

- Monica Rayne

The love of your life. Monica helped you since the begenning and she can have good advice. BUT Monica fight for the women's rights and sometimes it's not in adequation with your politics. Remember, she's a grown woman and can leave you alone forever.

- Franc & Deana Rayne

Your children. Deana is the perfect little girl that work hard in school and love his dad. Franc is... a little jerk, like all boy at his age. He smokes and don't take his studies seriously.

- Livia Suno

Your secretary, she's discret and comptent. Just... well you will discover in the game but if at one moment you ask the good question, the answer is always : yes, she is.

- Serge Wolkner

The last caracters and the best. Serge is your only and must be your only friend. If you help him and prove your are the best president of Sordland, he'll give you his own life.

Most importantly, Serge it’s the GIGA-CHAD-GOD EMPEROR OF SORDLAND, never, never, never pisses on Serge. Be friends with him, be grateful to him, he’s here to be your driver but he will protect you when the situation needs it and if he loves you, he will sacrifice his life for you. Serge is and must be your only friend, he never asks you something in return. You must be his president for now and forever. The anthem of Sordland must be a glorious song about Serge !

Foreign Leaders

- Maartin Van Hoorten

President of Agnolia, Van Hoorten only want a fair trade deal with Sordland and the recognition of the possession of the Helijland islands by others country. You need him to improve your economy but he also needs you for his objectives.

- Wiktor Smolak

I already say a bit about Smolak but remember, he's a dictator and you doesn't need him. But he can be a good ally againt the BFF.

- Emmerich Hegel

The chancelor of Vlagsland. Hegel lead his country into the arms of the CSP but he not a stupid man, he can oppose with United Contana on somes subjets. Hegel is more socialist than communist.

His goals are focused to contain ATO in Merkopa and reconquest the Helijland islands.

- Patricio Alvarez

President of Lespia. Alvarez has a little problem with alchool (a little one). If you are not a communist, you need him to improve the economy of Sordland and against Rumburg. Also have good relations with Lespia can open the doors of ATO if you desire.

Alvarez is an opportunistic man, he doens't care about people if it doens't help the economy of Lespia.

- Leon "Malenyev" Chavatangakwunua

You want Lenin, Suzerain give you Malenyev. The leader of United Contana is very charismatic, and very popular. He's one of the people that every can love or respect by his presence and natural autority. He's very smart man and want to stop Arcasian expansion in the World. But also he will blind an eye to guys like Smolak and can stop his beliefs if it's help the cause.

- Dwight Walker

If Malenyev is Lenin, Walker is Reagan/Nixon. The president of Arcasia promote the Arcasian Dream and is the nemesis of communis. He promotes ultra-capitalism and libertarians policies. His strategy to contain CSP and communism is to put military bases and also anti-missiles systems in the countries that agreed with Arcasia.

Walker is like he said "i always obtain what i want".

- Beatrice Livingston

It's like Queen Victoria lives during the Cold War or Elizabeth II want to rivalizes with USA and USSR.

The Queen of Rumburg and others titles is the hag, the ♥♥♥♥♥ or wathever you want. You can't trust her, never trust her, she want Sordland or dominate your country, and she's ready to plunge the world in a war for that.

The Queen want to protect the world and monarchies from democracy, capitalism and others aberations for her.

Newspaper

In the game, there are six newspapers, they are not for cosmetic purposes, they have a lot of information, read them carefully. But remember, like in real life, the newspapers have their political tendencies.

The Holsord Post : Pro-conservatives, neutral on Soll but never disrespect him. They are in favor or neutral with you except for “socialists” decisions (like Bluds rights or pro-communist laws).

Sordland Today : Neutral, but it’s changed after you meet Marcel Koronti the first time. If you make a deal, they write in your favor whatever you do. But if not, they criticize all your decisions.

Ekonomists : They focus on economic news, they are pro-Oligarchs and of course pro-free market. They will say good to you if you are a capitalist. They may be annoying but some articles are useful for your economics decisions.

Lachaven Times : Pro-democratic and neutral. They are maybe the most trustworthy newspapers in Suzerain, they stay neutral on your decisions, and admit if it’s a good choice or not. I prefer reading this newspaper for his unbiased articles.

The Radical : GOD I hate them, even if I'm a die hard democrat. You know, there are these guys whatever you do, even if it’s in their favor, because you are not in their group of friends, they will piss on your face. Sometimes you will make decisions in their ideological ways, but the continue to speak against you because you are from the USP and for them USP = Soll (go hang yourself !). Yeah I exaggerate my critics about them, but it’s not totally false. They are openly in favor of democracy, communism and Bluds rights and they only praise you if you judge Soll (Spoiler : we don’t do that here).

Geopolitico : The only newspapers that never judge you (except for bad political choices). They only speak about news from the world. They are not left, not right, not democratic, not autocratic, only facts. They are more for the lore of Suzerain and also they show the bad and good of ATO & CSP.

Prologue

Family

- Poor (1W - more popular with Bludish and in the Public opinion)
- Middle class (2W) (neutral, no bonus no malus)
- Wealthy (3W - less popular in the Public opinion, but improve relations with Capitalist)

Choose what you want, it doesn’t matter here, just keep 1W for Serge. Personally I choose Wealthy, we need money to run Sordland, I want to invest in Armadine and give to Serge some money.

Studies

- Economics (Better relations with Oligarchs and Capitalist)
- Law (Make the constitution reforms easier, convince Edmonds is less difficult)
- History (Made the diplomacy easier, especially with Agnolia)

Choose what you want, it doesn’t matter, for RP i choose Economics because the University is in Lachaven (and your birthplace is Lachaven).

Protests

- Stay your ground (more popular)
- Run away (less popular)

Stay your ground, don’t be a coward

Join groups in University

- Political debate club (yours speeches have better effect)
- Student Council (Your ED improve by +1, you have skills to manage economy)
- Human Rights group (improve diplomatic relations and can avoid international backlash for some decisions)

Choose what you want. I personally chose the Student Council, we will be president, and if we don’t know how to manage the economy, we will not be president for long.

Political organizations

- Red Youth (better relation with communist)
- Young Sords (better relation with nationalist)
- None

Choose none, there are the two sides of the same coin.

Refugees

- Let them pass (worse relations with army)
- Escort them back (improve relations with army)

It’s a tricky one, choose to escort them back, you are a young soldier after all, you obey the orders. You can attempt to let them pass, but Iosef will remember this moment and not on good terms.

Family

- Sacrifice family for work (improve your position in Assembly, worse family relations)
- Sacrifice work for family (worsen your position in Assembly, improve family relations)

Well, your family will always be the same, Franc is stupid young boy, Deana will always love his dad, and Monica will only go if you are a ♥♥♥♥ with here and don’t help with women's rights. I choose to sacrifice my family, you are going to help Monica so she never divorce.

Opposition against Soll

- Stay neutral (nothing)
- Support Soll (improve relations with Sollist, and in favor of planned economy)
- Support opposition (improve relations with Reformits and Capitalist in favor of free-market)

We are a democrat Rayne and anti-corruption, with all respect we have for Soll, democracy even in name doesn’t need a dictator nor corruption. So choose opposition, vote Alphonso, you can be worried with the departure of Soll or not, it doesn’t matter.

Campaign for Alphonso

- Did you best to help him (improve relations with Alphonso, worsen family relations)
- Do not help him (worsen relations with Alphonso, improve family relations)

Frankly, you join opposition, so continue, help Alphonso, also your family never change whatever you choose.

How to step down Alphonso

- Advice to step down (The discrete way, diplomatic and like a friend who advice you)
- Denouncing on TV (It’s the better way to present you as the alternative of Alphonso, some like it some not)
- Bribe his supporters (Backstabbing Alphonso perfectly, he will never forget that nor his supporters)

Personally I prefer advice to step down. Why ? We want to have good relations with Alphonso and the Reformists. Denouncing on TV doesn't not improve these relations and bribe his supporters. It's not in favor of our anti-corruption vision of Rayne. Also the advice presents Rayne like a diplomat and trustworthy partner.

We choose Health, it’s more popular for the public. The people are concerned by two things, their money and their health. If they can’t have free medecin and quality services it will worsen their situation. Bad health means less chance to find work. If they don’t have money but have access to good and free healthcare, it’s win-win, they can be poor but their health doesn’t lower their chance to work.

Also, better healthcare it’s more babies, more babies, more workers, more workers, more taxpayers, more taxpayers. It's more money and more money it’s more money (you understand).

Inauguration speech
Speak in favor of “change and hope”, you are president to change the country and give hope to people. For the rest, you are free to choose what you want, just be consistent with your path.

Briefing on the current political situation
Of course, go for democratic reforms and work with the Reformists.

Briefing on the current economy situation
Choose Free-Market, you promised that so go for it, but remember don’t do a full liberalization of Sordland, we must have a mixed economy.

Meeting on the Media Strategy
You are in favor of a democratic country, so the media must be independent even if it’s not to your advantage. The media can say whatever they want, you will change the country not them.

You have the chance to meet Marcel Koronti. I prefer to be a diplomat and accept the meeting. But don’t speak with him directly, he needs you and you don’t need him, you are better than that.

Campaign Finance Bill
Vetoed, it’s an undemocratic bill that will only favor your party. Remember you need the votes of the reformers and socialist, cut the money for them and they will not forgive that.

Invest in Mega-Structure
Yes, some people prefer to skip this one but we need it for two reasons : 1) it’s RP, how to reboot the economy without a big project 2) We focus on improving Agnland and Agnolia Trade, so we need a Mega-Structure.

Discussion on the potential Mega-Structure project
As we say before, go for the H-3 Highway, it will improve the economy of Agnland without other investments, and it will synergize with the Agnolia Trade. It’s win-win.

Invest in Arcasian Company Stocks
Do what you want, just keep 1PW for Serge (2 PW if you want the lucky charm). I personally invest 1PW (why not more, Gus will not show you others propositions because you piss off his partners, frankly i don’t care).

Reception at the Inauguration Ball
Don’t be a jerk, be nice to your wife and support women's rights. For the journalist, say you are willing to work with everybody and gladly accept the words of Ricter. The journalist will ask why you vetoed the Campaign Finance Bill, and answer that it is an undemocratic bill that favors only your party.

During the attack, shield your wife and kids and after respond whatever you want.

Emergency Meeting
Protect free speech, don’t blame the communist nor the nationalists (everyone is at fault here). Also you are in a civilized society, so political murder is unacceptable.

Don’t take a decision too fast, or take a side.

Security Briefing on the Threats against Sordland
The first part of the meeting is with Lileas Graf and Nia Morgna. Just blame the political violence, but don’t take a side between Young Sords and Red Youth. Remember that Lileas will say everything to blame the Communists and the BFF. You can declare your support to the Bludish population and say you want to revoke the Bergia Special Zone (Lileas for some reason is in favor of this).

Invest alone, why ? For two reasons : 1) You need to protect your energy sector (and invest with Rizia will see Rumburg take shares in Gasom) 2) Invest alone will please everyone, left and right, so it’s a win-win.

After that, you will have occasion to improve the condition of Gasom’s workers, ask Alphonso to fund the healthcare and housing for the works in Narbel. You can have the best outcome because you fully invest in Gasom. Don’t ask him to participate in local charities. Charity is good but never solves the problem. Education : Maintain, why ? I really want to increase education, but we need money, and the system is not ♥♥♥♥ up. The Sordish education is pretty good but in rural areas is horrible. Upgrade education is for the next term of Rayne.

Law enforcement & Justice : Increase, why ? We need to tackle corruption, and to form the Anti-Corruption Police to discover the little secrets of the Old Guard. Always form this police if you want to be a democrat, “corruption it’s the root of evil” like say Nia, and i can’t argue against that.

It’s a tough one, Governor Bron from the Bergia Special Zone by his attempts to destroy the BFF, is exacerbating the tensions in the Bludish communities. You have two options : Remove the Special Zone and make Bergia into a normal region of Sordland (Lileas plan) OR make Bergia a semi-autonomous region (Nia plan).

The Lileas’s plan is more popular among the nationalist, you centralize the country and force the Bluds to obey the same laws. Problem : Bluds don’t like it, they will hate that. Because it doesn’t solve the problem, the state stays racist against the Bluds.

Nia's plan is more popular among the reformists and Bluds. Have a semi-autonomous zone with their own police forces and government.

This decision is very difficult to make, i want to follow Nia’s plan BUT it’s not a good solution. If you read carefully the codex and demographics you are aware than Bergia does not have a majority of Bluds. Favor Bluds in Bergia is ignoring the other ethnicities in the region. Bluds by their organizations will dominate the region and after that they may become the new “oppressors”. Remember that is not because the political leaders say something, the people say the same thing. The Bluds want to have the same rights as the citizens of Sordland, give them privileges will create frustration among the others non-Sords ethnicities.

Also for a lore-wise choice, the nationalists would be furious, and even the moderates will not support you. The Sordish society is conservative and traditional, they will not see an autonomous Bergia the same way as you. Remember that the Bludish woman is more oppressed than the Sordish woman. Giving them an autonomy region will just create more problems than before.
