LOGIN ERROR [SOLVED!!]

Quick and simple guide for the thousands of people who are infuriated that they can not play the game they purchased or received in the C&C bundle because of bugs that EA refuses to address.

How to bypass the EA bug to play C&C 4 Tiberian Twillight

Hey guys! It took me awhile to figure out how to get past all the broken EA login issues a lot of us are having, but alas I have successfully launched the game.

1) Right click the game in your library and select browse local files.

2) Find the application (.exe) file CNC4, right click and select properties. Under Compatibility, make sure that Run this program as administrator is checked, and apply.

3) Make sure that your EA.com password is 8 characters [it breaks after 8] and also that it has
NO SPECIAL CHARACTERS IN IT [!@#$%^&*]

Example of a bad password: Pass12% [special characters], Password12 [over 8 characters]

4) Voila! The game should work and you can see for yourself why so many people who have gotten it to work still hate it :D

Running game as administrator

Right click the game in properties and select browse local files.
Right Click the CNC4 application file and select properties.
Check "Run as administrator" and click apply.

i had the same issue with a general error message, but when logging into ea.com I had to accept the updates T&Cs. after that I could log into the game once again

OMG that is the exact opposite of what i learned in adminschool. WTF! is this run by al qaida? a password like that can be cracked in less than a second by brute force. i know twelve year-olds who could write the code for that...

Anyone else still getting an Unknown Error message when trying to login? I've checked settings and changed my password and the error persists

I had 10 characters pw. Changed to 8 and now it launches. Thanks

it sometimes works sometimes regardless my game always crashes after 5 minutes into game play

Got past the "invalid" password problem by running the CNC4.exe file from the game folder rather than starting from Steam library and my regular EA password worked. Game running fine. Created a desktop shortcut to use from there.

this the biggest bs i've ever read... i was sceptic about this "8character" password thing, because why on earth would that solve the issue, but then i gave it a try... yepp, didn't work. Go ahead, make another genius guide

Can confirm, running as administrator, making your password 8 characters or less, and having the EA app running in the background is the secret formula to get this game to run. Its BS but I've never been able to play this game yet. Wish me luck
