I: There Is So Much World to See (Beginning)
Aloha! Infinite Wealth has come and hoo boy, I put nearly 150 hours into this game. I have spent entire days playing this game, and let me tell you, there's so much to do! So much to see! And you should take the backstreets, seeing how there's some good loot in those backstreets.

And there's a lot of ground to cover. This has taken a long time to write. I want to cover all of the jobs, all of the great skills that come with the jobs, understand what makes the job tick, all of it! Heck, I even considered going through ALL of the skills!

But let us start at the beginning! In Infinite Wealth, because Hello Work has fired Ichiban, you no longer use it to swap jobs out. Instead, Alo-Happy in Hawaii will give you the new jobs...provided Ichiban has the money and the proper Personality Stats to get them. Once you do, you can swap jobs at Alo-Happy Booth located in the world. And unlike last time, there's more than one place!

(HAWAII)
+ Aloha-Happy Main Office (Worldwide Market Village)
+ Hawaii Underground
+ In front of Anaconda Mall

(YOKOHAMA)
+ Hello Work
+ Yokohama Underground (Inside)
+ Yokohama Station

(KAMUROCHO)
+ Theater Square

And the booths don't just allow you to swap Jobs, they also allow you to equip skills. I'll talk more about that in the next section.

I do need to discuss the more important element of the parties. This game has you working with two parties. This would be a spoiler, but with the game being a few months old and a free DLC giving you a T-shirt that outright shows the party composition, it's not really a spoiler anymore.

In Hawaii you will have Ichiban, Tomizawa, Chitose, Adachi and Joongi.

In Japan you will have Kiryu, Nanaba, Seonhee, Saeko and Zhao.

Premium Adventure will be the only time the parties will merge into one, so you got to go through a lot to get there. When controlling one party, you can only control the equipment of the other party. Stat and Job Boosting Items can only be applied to the current party. So it's important that I tell you WHEN you take control of the parties. CHAPTER 8 is the first time with Kiryu's Party. You'll go back to Ichiban's in the next chapter, so you'll spend time with Kiryu in Even Chapters, and Ichiban's in Odd Chapters.

There are 14 Chapters, but the finale has you working your parties separately one last time. You'll start with Ichiban and do his whole finale before you go back to Kiryu's Party for the real finale. This means that if you want/need anything exclusive to the Japan stuff (The base ultimate weapons from Crown Enemies, getting rewards in the Yokohama Underground) you'll have to do it in Chapter 12.

One thing I should talk about is the Job Exclusive Equipment. Last game, you could find Accessories that would grant more EXP for the Job. These are still in this game, but they're kinda placed all over the world. I will not be covering them, because there's a good chance that you will end up finding them on our own. (Some are even given out by progressing through the story)

We got a lot of ground to cover, and man, this guide is basically a novel. Get some popcorn folks, this is a long 'un.
II: Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On (Battle System Changes Since Last Game)
Let's start with the most important part. All of the major changes that has happened to the game since the last one!

+ BASICALLY BETTER: The Normal Attack in the last game was just that. A Normal Attack. Like in any RPGs before it, you stop using Normal Attacks by the halfway point; replacing them with Skills/Magic and only using it against low-level enemies and when you're prevented from using your specials. But this time? They were given so much more to work with!
  • They now all restore MP, a feature exclusive to magical-focused jobs in the previous game.
  • Certain Normal Attacks can throw enemies into other enemies.
  • The Normal Attacks can be enhanced in a few ways. Attacking up close to an enemy does more damage (Proximity Attack) and attacking from behind will ignore guard and guarantee a Critical Hit (Back Attack).
  • In the last game, Ichiban had the ability to pick up objects off the ground and use them in lieu of his Normal Attacks. This time around? EVERYONE can do it! Even the girls. Weapon Attacks are triggered by being near a weapon on the ground. These will use the stats of the Weapon you pick up though.
  • Once you improve Bonds with your teammates, you'll unlock a Combo Attack. These are triggered when you move a character near a teammate. These will restore MP for both characters, good for restoring MP! But worthless against Guarding enemies; they'll stop the combo from happening.

+ STAT REROLL: Two stats from last time, Dexterity and Healing, are gone. Dexterity used to gauge Critical Hit Chance and Dodge Chance, but now these are (I believe) now just percentages. In place of them is Willpower, which effects damage taken from magical attacks. The amount of HP you get back from skills are dependent on the skill and Magic I believe.

+ BUFF IT UP, DEBUFF IT DOWN: Buff & debuffs have received a rework. Last time, what you got was dependent on the skill you used. Sexy Pose would lower an enemy's defense by two levels. Reusing the skill would just refresh the duration. This time, buffs and debuffs don't go that high on initial use. Most skills raise/lower by one level. Reusing the skill would both refresh the duration and build the buff/debuff to the next level, level three being the highest.

+ TWO LINES, LOTS OF WAITING: Status Effects have also been given a weird rework. This time, you can only apply one Damaging and One Restrictive effect at a time. If you apply a different one, it will replace the old one. (EXAMPLE: If an Enemy is suffering Bleed, inflicting Burn will replace Bleed)
  • Damage: Burn, Cold, Poison, Bleed
  • Restricting: Stun, Paralysis, Fear, Sleep, Charm, Drunk, Rage, Blind, Silence
  • Other: Curse
+ TAKE WHAT YOU WANT: Stealing was featured in the last games, but it wasn't so useful. There were a ton of different items, and it was way easier to buy the materials you specifically needed. And if you stole money off the enemy, the enemy won't drop the money after battle. That would prevent the incredibly high money multipliers you could stack from giving you more money...
...but this time? You can STEAL and get money/items on the victory screen this time! Stack it high!

+ WEAPONIZE: Several skills in this game now have the flavor text of: 'Uses weapon attributes and skills'. This means that the skill will use whatever your currently equipped weapon has. EXAMPLE: I have weapon that's Fire Elemental and has the chance of inflicting Burn. This means that any skill with the Weaponize trait will do Fire Damage and has a chance of Inflicting Burn.

+ MAD SKILLS TO PAY THE BILLS: There were two types of skills last time. Job Skills, that were tied down to the Job itself, and Character Skills, that are on the character permanently. This time, ALL SKILLS CAN BECOME CHARACTER SKILLS! Every character can use their Skill Inheritance slots to take up to 5 Skills and One Kiwami skills with them between any job they want, provided that you have built up their bonds; Ichiban has to reach Lvl.5 in his personality to unlock slots. If you swap to a job that you have an Inherited Skill In (Such as selecting Burning Arrow and then going to Samurai), it will unequip the skill.

+ BOND WITH ME KIRYU: Bonding has changed quite a big. Instead of just 5 levels, it's 100! You build bond faster and there are more opportunities to earn it. Everyone save for Ichiban earns it. This unlocks new jobs, skill inheritance slots and the Drink Links. And this time the Drink Links don't lock you from gaining Bond! Doing the Drink Links will unlock follow-up attacks, combo attacks, increased likelihood of those triggering, and getting the Character's Ultimate Weapon!

+ IT'S GOTTEN SCARY: Yakuza: Like a Dragon is considered to be an easy game. Enemies in that game were easily dealt with, and the bosses being HP Sponges. The Ryu Ga Gotoku Team took that to heart and upped the ante. Enemies deal more damage (With most enemies mid-game dealing upwards of 100 damage), have access to AOE, and rely more on buffs and debuffs. It's not hard per say, but you got to be careful. Even more so when you go down into the dungeons...

+ TO BE BLUNT: There are three Attack Types (Blunt, Blade, and Bullet) and three Elements (Fire, Ice, and Lightning). In the last game, all six types could be resisted. Blunt got hit by this the hardest; being the most common and being the most resisted. Now it's been made into a Neutral Element. Only two enemies that I have seen resist Blunt and those two resist ALL types.

+ CLOTHES MAKE THE HERO: There were a few pieces of Gear that were meant for only Girls in the last game. This time, it doesn't matter. Yes, you can make Nanba wear some Gothic Lolita heels. There's also Unique Armor in this game. Every Job has an Unique Armor, save for the Character Exclusive Jobs. That's because each Character have their own Unique Armor, which they can use in any Job.
III: Money Honey (Money and Crafting)
This might be called Infinite Wealth, but you need a lot of money. Even more so than last time! You'll be running low early game, and be somewhat flush late. Money is about medium-level difficulty to get and very easy to spend.

So let's go over the money making methods!

1. Selling Random Stuff

This game just loves spawning in a ton of briefcases all over the world. A lot of these will contain weapons, and after the halfway point, they'll spawn in better weapons. You can make some money off these.

2. Sujimon League

You get some money from fighting Trainers, but it's not much. This screen shot is from the highest rank Trainer. Great if you go for this early-on, but weak mid-game. And Sujimon battles take a long time to get through, even with overpowered teams. But still, it is a early-game grind if you wanna.

3. Gambling

Thank god for save scumming! You'll unlock some casinos through the story and this time, the once mighty Platinum Plate has been beaten out by the Swiss Watch. If you like reloading your save or rage-quitting out of Koi-Koi when the CPU gets Rainy Four Lights on the second turn, this the path to take.

4. Battle Enemies

Last time, fighting enemies was the slowest and least useful way of getting money. And it is a bit better this time around, but not by much. Having way more enemies to fight does help, along with the ability to steal from them being more profitable in the long run. While you can fight everyone in sight (And Smackdown doesn't diminish the money you get), the real money doesn't come from fighting random guys on the street.

5. Fighting Crown Enemies

The real money comes fighting the Crown Enemies, which are Mini-Bosses, referred to as the Keepers of the City. They're all over the place and do respawn if you go through a loading screen. (Use a Taxi). They pose more of a threat to your party and have a lot more HP than you expect. But they drop more money, EXP, and they can drop special equipment, including the base form of the Ultimate Weapons!

6. Dondoko Island

What is meant to be the main measure of earning money is only a slightly decent way of dong it. If you like Animal Crossing, yay, you'll get a ton of value out of this! But let me put to you like this. The money you get from Dondoko Island is 10% based around their Budget. S Rank Guests start at 100k Dokobucks. That means if they're at Max Happiness, you'll get $10k USD. That's a good amount of money, and with a max of 25 Guests (The only way you're going to get nothing but S Rank Guests is to have the Sujimon & Resort DLC) you can get close to $200k USD! (If you do have the DLC and have the Guests maxed out, I believe the most you can earn is $375k)

But it takes SO LONG to do so. And because Guests cannot be brought back to the island until you do another tour with a different set, you won't be earning the same amount each time. You will be spending a lot more time doing this when instead you could:

7. Dungeons

The real money earner is the dungeons. As you go deeper, you'll find a ton of enemies that casually drop tens of thousands of dollars, and then you fight against the mini-bosses. Those guys drop even more. Make sure you got a girl in the active party with Money Sucker and you'll walk away with enough money to buy your own condo.

Now, to crafting. You can no longer make Gear, just weapons. But now the process is a lot more streamlined. You need a base weapon to make new weapons. All of the base weapons are just Stat Sticks, weapons that lack anything other than stats. They do not have elements and do not have any special abilities. You can find these weapons in specialty stores in both regions. Looking at the stores on the map will reveal what weapons they sell.

The materials needed for them have been reduced down to a few, but you need way more. In both Hawaii and Yokohama is a dealer that will sell you the materials...the first tier. If you want the higher tier, you have to craft them. 10 for 1. There's Fragments, Geodes, and Crystals. That means to get One Crystal, you need to buy 100 Fragments. The vendors are in Hamakita Park in the top right corner (The same vendor from last game that sold you crafting materials) and in the waters at Aloha Beach. If you got money to burn, you can buy all you need here.

But the main way of earning materials is also the best place to earn money. Dungeons! The lower floors will have better materials and if you get a lot of discs, you can buy the materials straight from the Dungeon Master. But you should save Dungeon currency for the special materials needed to make the ultimate weapons. Empty Cough Drop Tins and Squid Tentacles are sold in Yokohama, and Shark Fins in Hawaii. Empty Cough Drop Tins can be found in Hawaii from an enemy squad found at the Nirvana Hotel or around the Docks from what I have heard. The two Aquatic items can be found via fishing or if you want to, you can do the Recycling Center stuff at Aloha Beach.

The second feature of crafting is Enhancement. Last game, you could only enhance certain weapons. This time, ALL OF THE WEAPONS CAN BE ENHANCED! With special materials, you can not only boost the attack stats of the weapon, but also unlock the new feature: the Brands. You'll unlock Brand slots at levels 10, 30, and the max of 50. These can be used to improve the weapon in a few different ways!

And familiar to Fate: Grand Order, the lower rank weapons might have lower stats, but they make up for it by being cheaper and easier to enhance. Each weapon tier has their own specific EXP, and that never goes up with higher levels. (EXAMPLE: It costs 12 points to enhance the Wave Paddle, regardless if it at Lvl.1 or Lvl.49.) This means that a lower rank weapon will have access to more Brands earlier and have greater stats than some higher ranked weapons.

Keep in mind that the higher ranked weapons will have better stats over-all, but you can still build up to it with the lower ranked weapons. If you find a lower ranked weapon that has traits you like, keep it. The higher ranked weapons cost a LOT to make. It's up to you on how you play.

Now we covered that ground, let's get to the jobs!
IV: Barefoot Ballad/Freelancer (Ichiban Exclusive)

Our boy is back in town!

WEAPONS: N/a
UNIQUE ARMOR: True Hero's Armor (Buff all stats at Low HP)
(Complete the 3rd Hawaiian Dungeon)

Ichiban is back, and he brought Freelancer back with him! Yay. Considered to be one of the weaker jobs in the last game; it was Ichiban's starting job and the one he would swap to automatically during two points in the story. Low damage, access to only Blunt damage, only single-target, the only job in the game to NOT use any weapons, and the only reason to level it is to get the buff skill and to make sure you can get through New Game Plus.

It didn't get THAT better this time around..

PROS:
  • High Attack Power

CONS:
  • ALL of the problems from last time are still present.

This job didn't change much. About the only thing that did change was the Attack Stat. When this job ranks up, it gives Ichiban a ton of Attack. Not enough to compete with Kiryu though. There's really not much to talk about. You actually never use this job that much. You get Hero in the first chapter, and NEVER have to go back to being Freelancer. The game never forces you to go back to it.

Guess you could use some of the Shared Skills with it. But eh.

RECOMMENDED SKILLS:

+ Hyper Swagger (Self-use, increases Attack and Evasion): Still useful.

+ Release German Supplex (Damage an enemy with a chance to Instant KO): Hey, wait. These two are the Character Skills from last time!

V: We Call on Him/Hero (Ichiban Exclusive)

Surprised they didn't try to squeeze in the first Dragon Quest. I would have put even more hours into this game.

WEAPONS: Bats
BEST WEAPON: True Legendary Hero's Bat (Strikes enemy with a bolt of lightning upon knockdown)
(Starts with Ichiban upon getting the Hero job)
UNIQUE ARMOR: True Hero's Armor (Buff all stats at Low HP)
(Complete the 3rd Hawaiian Dungeon)

Through the power of being utterly delusional and this baseball bat that he found IN the street, Ichiban returns in his real class. Unlike how Freelancer remained unchanged, Hero has changed up quite a bit from last time! It actually might be a bit better!

PROS:
  • Well-balanced stats
  • Can buff a variety of stats
  • Great healing options
  • Great Damage

CONS:
  • Only Blunt, no Elements
  • A bit reliant on building Ichiban's Personality

Ichiban would suck if he was placed in the old style of Like a Dragon games. (Yes, I know of the mod that makes 7 into a beat-em-up. I mean OFFICIALLY) But with him seeing the world as a RPG, he brings one of the best Jobs around. The 'Assault-Rifle-in-Generic-2000s-FPS' Job. That does lead to its big weakness, the fact that it can solve most problems on its own.

Let me put it to you like this. I include a list of skills that are really good to transfer, and I cannot do that for Hero, because EVERY SKILL IS GOOD. Any of the skills with the Hero's in front of it is a skill that can fit into any Job. While the physical attacks skills are replaceable by better versions, they're still great to have in the early game.

About the only major weakness is that if you want to improve the skills, you need to focus on improving Kasuga's Personality. Do exams, make Alo-Links, do whatever, and you'll have the skills maxed out in no time. Plus, it will also unlock the Shared Skills Slots!

RECOMMENDED BRANDS:

+ Seal of Forces/EX: It only has Blunt. Get more Blunt Damage

+ Seal of Vitality/Siphon/EX: Basic Attacks is pretty good, so making it do more damage and get more MP back will help out in the long run.

NOTES:

+ There is actually a SECOND ultimate weapon. The Ultima Egesta, made out of a Metal Bat and 100 Etheral Egesta, which can be farmed from any toilet, Sewer Rats, or by buying from a cart vendor in Chinatown. It can Poison and Blind, but seeing how it costs the same to make and also requires max Crafting Rank, it might not be worth it. Your opinion might vary.
VI: One Broken Heart for Sale/Sujimancer (Ichiban Exclusive)

Mario Kart in the first game, and now Pokemon and Animal Crossing in this one. Oh, please, include a Zelda mini-game in the next one!

WEAPONS: N/a
UNIQUE ARMOR: True Hero's Armor (Buff all Stats at Low HP)
(Complete the 3rd Hawaiian Dungeon)

I have had a long experience with the Pokemon franchise. I remember getting Pokemon cards after Sunday School, watching the show religiously, getting all of the games and updated versions, getting really sad when I lost my Gyarados card, spending time hunting down the first edition Charizard card, and sadly losing my interest in the franchise at the late DS era...

...oh, you want me to talk about Sujimancer? Okay.

What's there to talk about?

PROS:
  • High Magical Damage, gains higher Magic per level up.
  • Covers all 3 Elements
  • Can be more powerful earlier on if one progresses through the Sujimon League storyline.

CONS:
  • No weapons to equip, so no brands or enhancements.
  • Cannot transfer any skills.
  • Dependent on progress through the Sujimon League storyline.
  • Dependent on getting good Sujimon.

Sujimancer has quickly earned the moniker of worse job in Infinite Wealth, which you can see from the Cons. You'll unlock this job after beating the first Gym Leader, which you can do as soon as you unlock the Sujimon League in Chapter 4. In fact, you can go through the entire League in Chapter 4 if you so want to.

There's only two battles in the normal RPG engine: one fight has 3 Lvl.11 enemies and the last one has 3 Lvl.30 enemies. And the thing is, these two fights are almost back-to-back. The first happens after the 4th Leader and the second one happens after the 5th Leader. Beating the 4th Leader unlocks the last Level Cap and growth items for your Sujimon, allowing you to raise your Sujimon to their max potential.

What I mean is that Sujimancer 'equips' your Sujimon from the Equipment menu, one for each of the five elements (Red/Blaze, Blue/Frost, Green/Nature, Yellow/Light, and Purple/Shadow). Each one of the elements has two skills tied to it, and the Sujimon equipped improve those skills. (I believe that Ichiban's Magic stat does play a role in the attack skills) The better and higher leveled the Sujimon, the better the skills become.

There's two types of Legendary Sujimon. Ones that have a prefix of 'Suji' and then there's the 'Kiwamis'. The Sujis can be obtained from Ticket draws, while Kiwamis have to be obtained from the highest level Raids...and then obtained from Ticket draws. The Kiwamis provide the best stats, but they are out of your league in Chapter 4. At least some Sujis (Like Suji Bear) can do the job just as well as the Kiwamis.

And yet, it's all mediocre. The damage is good, but the skills are lacking. The Fire, Ice, and Lightning Skills are the same, just one is single-targeted and the other is a linear attack. The Green skills focus on Recovery; but you got much better options. And the Dark ones are the worse; one inflicts Sleep (And no damage) and the other Poisons. (With some damage) Sujimancer just exists as straight magical damage, and that's good, but other classes can do the same if not better.

Keep this mind! Each equipped Sujimon is tied down to two skills. So if you got a good Red one, great, your Fire Skills are improved. But if you got a bad Yellow one, then oof. Bad Elec skills. My go-to Sujimon for the entire story was Suji Bear; as he has one of the highest attacks available. But he's a Green, which means he only improves the two Recovery skills.

The lack of weapons hinders this class. While you get a lot more Magic when leveling up, it really doesn't help that much. Every weapon in this game has some Magic to them, even for jobs that aren't geared towards Magic. And because those weapons can be enhanced for greater stats, this means that some jobs can have greater Magic than Sujimancer.

Not to mention, no weapons? No brands. And that includes Seal of Miracles, a brand that allows Magical Attacks to Crit Hit. This means that Sujimancer has the lowest magical damage potential out of any class because of this. Desperado is better at Magic because of this. (It's ultimate weapon grants higher Crit Rate per aliment on the enemy. Given the Seal of Miracles and the fact that two magical skills the Desperado learn also have a good chance of activating status effects, then yes. Desperado is better at Magic than Sujimancer)

AND. In case there isn't ENOUGH evidence, this is the only class whose skills cannot be transferred. That means outside of the stat boosts you get, this is the only optional class that cannot help out with other classes. Sujimancer needs Magic boosting skills and Wonder Cocktail to really be great. What a b$&#h; doesn't want to share but expects others to share with them.

The worst part? Completing the Sujimon League storyline earns you a weapon...for the Hero class. Not the ultimate weapon, but a really good one. Even more so if you do it early on. This could have been the ONE weapon that Sujimancer could have gotten and it would be fine...but no.

So here's a funny little screenshot to make up for this lackluster class.

VII: Amazing Grace/Dragon of Dojima (Kiryu Exclusive)

From the bottom of the Empty Lot to the top of the Millennium Tower. The Dragon returns one last time.

WEAPONS: N/a
UNIQUE ARMOR: True Dragon's Suit (Increase Damage Reduction and Window for Perfect Guard)
(Complete the 3rd Yokohama Dungeon)

in 2005, a little game came out on the PS2. While popular in Japan, it was more of a sleeper hit in the West. While the latter games did come out stateside, it never achieved the same level of success as it did back home. It got to the point were USA stopped receiving new titles following the low sales of the zombie game Dead Souls.

But due to high fan demand, Sega did eventually release the 5th title, but only on download. A download that required twice as much space as it said it needed. But that did sell well, and Sega allowed for a physical release of Yakuza 0...and the rest is history. What was once a niche series became a household name.

Betting a lot of you got into the series because of 0. I got into this series due to some grainy videos on Youtube showing the final bosses of 4. And I thought it looked awesome, so I went down to my local Gamestop and they had a copy. I've been playing the series for a long time...and remembered when 6 came out. That was Kiryu's first finale.

Now, hopefully this time he can rest easy. But he has lot to do before he can. Let's get into the Dragon of Dojima's last hurrah.

PROS:
  • Insane Physical damage.
  • Going through Awakenings will buff this class even more
  • Essence of the Dragon God is one of the best skills in the game
  • Unique stance system allows for more tactical advantage

CONS:
  • Low MP, high MP cost for skills
  • Loads of skills that you probably won't end up using
  • Lack of Elemental coverage

Speaking of 0! Brawler, Rush and Beast returns one last time! Well, somewhat Brawler, Brawler borrows more from Kiryu's more tried-and-true Legend/Dragon of Dojima style. You can swap to these styles during Kiryu's turn but you always start in Brawler.

Let me remind you what I said in a previous section. Kiryu might join in Hawaii, but once you return to Japan, he becomes the Party Leader and eventually unlocks his own personal challenge list: the Bucket List. By completing challenges and other events, you'll improve Body, Tech, And Soul. Ah, one last time for those! Missing Essence, but to be fair, Essence and Soul were eventually mixed together.

And now a brief overview of the styles:

+ BRAWLER: Well-rounded. Can perform Heat Actions in certain situations (Such as Kiryu at Low HP, near a wall). Improving Soul will unlock resistance to Blind and Fire, unlock new Heat Actions and a counter with Perfect Guard.

+ RUSH: Kiryu can perform Basic Attack twice per turn with an increased movement radius. Improving Body unlock Poison and Electric resistance, pick up heavier objects (Like motorcycles) improves Weapon Attacks, and gain a physical attack buff after guarding.

+ BEAST: Decreases movement radius, but increased Attack and Defense. Basic Attacks now count as a Grapple. Improving Tech will unlock resistance to Silence and Ice, chance to stun enemies with Basic Attacks, and higher Evasion and Critical Hit rate.

Now, despite not having weapons, Kiryu will be hitting much harder than everyone else. And that's all from his basic attacks! A lot of his skills have high MP cost and with him having the lowest MP out of everyone (To put it into perspective? It is the ONLY CLASS TO HAVE A 1 RATING IN MP) so make sure to give him MP raising equipment...or just ignore his skills until you get his final skill.

RECOMMENDED SKILLS:

+ Essence of the Komaki Master (Grapple one enemy and then damage enemies around him. Can cause Rage, and Crits if you time the Action Prompt): Decent AOE! Damage is on the lower end though.

+ Essence of the Dragon God (Attacks ALL enemies, regardless of position. Does Fire Damage): Kiryu's version of the Satellite Laser. Costs less than Satellite Laser but DoD's low MP means you might get less use. But put him in a class with more MP and watch the fireworks. And it's cheaper to buy a Taurnier than it was to use this in the last game.
VIII: Walk a Mile in My Shoes/Homeless Guy (Nanba Exclusive)

He's not homeless anymore. Then again, he was kinda pretending last time too...

WEAPONS: Canes/Umbrellas
BEST WEAPON: Specter of Oblivion (Boost magical damage when fighting more enemies, chance of Fire Resistance Debuff on hit)
(Complete Nanaba Drink Link)
UNIQUE ARMOR: Street Soul Jacket (Survive death with 1 HP)
(Find in Millennium Tower in Finale)

Nanba is no longer homeless, and yet he's still the homeless guy. Go figure. Anyway, Homeless Guy was a pretty good Mage job in the last game. I consider it to be second to Host, mostly due to Host having access to better Fire skills, along with covering Ice. I feel like that it didn't change much this time around. But Homeless Guy has changed quite a bit!

PROS:
  • High magical damage
  • Good debuffs

CONS:
  • Low Physical Defense
  • Focuses on only Fire
  • Only has one healing skill

Homeless Guy has ditched all of the Baritsu moves from last game, focusing only on doing magical damage. That's all good, but it lacks all of Nanba's healing moves from last time save for Power Slumber. He has replaced all of his healing skills with just one; Stashed Bottle, an AOE heal. All well and good, seeing how he's focused on doing magical damage now.

The Pigeon abilities from last game return as well, now buffed by being Weaponized. Yes, much like Bloodwing in the first Borderlands game, you can infuse your birdies with elemental effects.

RECOMMENDED SKILLS:

+ Stashed Bottle (Heal allies in a radius, makes them Drunk): Not really the best, seeing how you can pick up Aquanaut skills for Nanba that can replace this one, without getting the party drunk. Then again, there is that Action Star skill that improves with the characters getting drunk...

+ Malodorous Stench (Lower all enemies Attack and Defense in radius): The Character Skill from last time, and it's still amazing this time.

+ Umbrella Barrier (Self buff Defense and Willpower) Given that Nanba is pretty fragile, this is an amazing tool to have.

RECOMMENDED BRANDS:

+ Seal of Flames/EX: It focuses on Fire damage, so focus on Fire damage!

+ Seal of Debility/Debility EX: Makes Nanba's stinky breath even more stinky. And effective too.

+ Seal of Miracles: Magic damage needs to crit.

+ Seal of Siphon/EX/Transfiguration: Homeless Guy has no Attack value. Get Transfiguration to make the stat redudant.
IX: Jailhouse Rock/Detective (Adachi Exclusive)

I miss Enforcer.

WEAPONS: Clubs
BEST WEAPON: Beacon of Maitreya (Damage enemy upon Perfect Guard)
(Complete Adachi's Drink Link)
UNIQUE ARMOR: Veteran Detective's Jacket (Recover MP upon taking damage)
(Find in District Five in Chapter 13)

Detective was considered to be pretty underwhelming last game too. It focused on tanking, and tanking wasn't that great. He had a counter skill that was useful only during one chapter. And this time...it can be considered to be one of the worst jobs for one good reason.

HE'S SO SLOW

PROS:
  • Arrest can work against mini-bosses
  • Pretty sturdy

CONS:
  • Slowest class in the game.
  • No skills really stand out as being useful
  • Has a random Magical skill that will see no use
  • SLOW, SO SLOW, SO SLOW THAT I HAD TO COUNT IT TWICE

Poor Adachi. While a great bro, the stat stick hit him hard in this game. Pretty much everyone considers him to be the worst character in the game, and all because of his criminally low speed. He will always go last, third if he gets the Agility boosting accessories. It makes him hard to work with. Zhao I believe is the second slowest party member (Going by his Default Class having a rating of 2) but Zhao?

Zhao has greater damage. While Adachi is still a hard hitting Physical fighter, his lack of speed hinders him. It doesn't help that he only has Blunt damage, save for his final skill...which is Magical Fire? He's not a magical guy by any means. Don't know why he has this. It can Stun, but he could just use Chef's Pressure Cooker Slam to take advantage of his better Attack stat. It also costs less MP!

...yeah, once again, Detective is a big fat meh. Please, for 9? Either put Adachi down (Because you just know that they will kill someone important in the next game) or make Detective better.

RECOMMENDED SKILLS:

+ Arrest (Chance of Instant-KO): It can one-shot Zealots. That's a good thing

+ Breaking Top (Grapple one enemy, control direction of AOE) Decent. That's about it.

RECOMMENDED BRANDS:

+ Seal of Force/Force EX: Only Blunt. Get Blunted.
X: One-sided Love Affair/Barmaid (Saeko Exclusive)

Drinks are literally ON the next chump that attacks us.

WEAPONS: Bags
BEST WEAPON: Illuminati Bag (Increases MP cost of skills, while boosting skill damage)
(Complete Saeko's Drink Link)
UNIQUE ARMOR: Cabaret Queen Dress (Greatly decreases MP Cost)
(Find in the Millennium Tower in the Finale)

Barmaid was a pathetic job in the last game. It was a job that promoted Magic, but had ONE magical attack. It mostly focused on Physical attacks that had a chance of debuffing. You unlock the Job System in the same chapter that Saeko joined up in, so you would quickly ditch Barmaid and never look bakc.

This time...it's okay. Better than last time. Maybe?

PROS:
  • Tons of MP
  • Good Ice Skills

CONS:
  • Low durability
  • Mediocre stats
  • Low damage

Eh?! Branding Blow, the previously-mentioned ONE MAGICAL ATTACK, is now Physical? What the? I guess it makes so sense, seeing how she's using a physical item. But still! Anyway, Barmaid has absorbed Hostess and has taken upon its Ice skills. That does give Barmaid more of an advantage...and wait...

As it turns out, Barmaid has some average stats. It's actually not much of a magical class anymore. While having the Hostess kit helps out a bit, it's unfortnuately not really a job that has much staying power. Get the abilities and move on.

RECOMMENDED SKILLS:

+ Boundless Cheer (Boost self and allies in AOE Attack) This used to be single-targeted and with the changes towards the buffing system, this has gotten better.

+ Champagne Shower/Splashdown/Essence of Magnum Bottle (Magic Ice damage to enemy in AOE with a chance to inflict Cold): Good skill! Even if it is outpaced by Housekeeper. Still Magnum Bottle works well with Housekeeper.

RECOMMENDED BRANDS:

+ Seal of Snow/EX: Take advantage of the better ice skills this time time around.

+ Seal of Pestilence/Suffering: If you want to take advantage of inflicting Cold.
XI: A Little Less Conservation/Hitman (Joongi Exclusive)

Actually, Psuedotrash was easier to find than Joongi this time around.

WEAPON: Knuckledusters
BEST WEAPON: Annihilation Claws (Boost damage with more enemies suffering status effects)
(Complete Joongi's Drink Link)
UNIQUE ARMOR: Stellar Shadow Jacket (Boost Evasion at Max HP)
(Find in Nele Island in the Finale)

Oof. Joongi was an amazing party member last game. Speedy and amazing damage. But he joined at the halfway point, and this time...? Spoiler alert, HE JOINS IN THE GAME'S PENULTIMATE CHAPTER. Apparently, I heard a rumor that he wasn't going to return if not for the fact of how popular he is.

He should have joined in Chapter 11. Really should have.

PROS:
  • Speedy
  • Causes a ton of status effects
  • Covers all attack types

CONS:
  • Extremely low durability
  • Joins so late that depending on how you play the game, he will be underlevelled to everyone else
  • Only one Elemental attack
  • Lack of AOE

Apparently, Head Trauma was a really good skill from last time. I didn't even use it nor recognized it as apparently one of the best skills for Hitman in 7. It's gone here though. A lot of his old skills return, save for his buff and his disappearing act. They got rid of the filler and made this class all killer! Fitting, ain't it?

Pretty much all of his skills cause status effects. While status effects are not as powerful as the ones in Epic Battle Fantasy, these does mean he can take greater advantage of them and use to boost is already great damage all the more higher. And like last time, he's mostly focusing on single-target damage.

He lacks elemental damage and has some low durabilty, and that about makes up for his weaknesses. But hey, he's one of two characters to have skills that do additional damage to targets from behind. Boost his damage even higher, why not? Man is going to be slaying Gods next game.

RECOMMENDED SKILLS:

+ Rapid Shot (Bullet damage to one enemy, high DPS with good chance to Crit) While the Invested Vagabounds don't have the same Metal Slime resistance this time around, this is still handy to have, especially if you build Joongi's Crit Rate/Damage way up.

+ Poison Shot (Bullet damage to one enemy, chance of Poison): Does great damage and can increase that with Poison.

+ Crescent/Silencing/Professional Slash (Blade damage to one enemy, chance of Bleed/Silence/Fear. Guarantees a Crit when attacking from behind): Professional is the best option overall given it does more damage, but you can use the others ones to help out. Crescent can be good for Samurai.

RECOMMENDED BRANDS:

+ Seal of Suffering/Binding: Take full advantage of his kit with this.

+ Seal of Steel/Severance/EX: You can also get Force to improve his Blunt damage, but Steel and Severance serve him better. (His two Kiwami skills are Bullet and Blade respectively)

+ Seal of Vigor: He's got several attacks that can crit already. Boost the damage!

+ Seal of Anguish: Combine this with his ultimate weapon and he'll be murdering everything.
XII: Down in the Alley/Gangster (Zhao Exclusive)

More Chef than Chef.

WEAPON: Sabers
BEST WEAPON: Treasured Sword of Heaven and Earth (Attacks ignore resistances)
(Complete Zhao's Drink Link)
UNIQUE ARMOR: Head Honcho's Jacket (Boost Physical Damage at Max HP)
(Find in Tojo Clan Headquarters in Chapter 12)

Our friendly-neighborhood gangster and cook returns, and he's got more lines and more storyline importance! Yay! And Gangster (While I once again didn't use it that much) is actually way better than last time! All hail the real new face of the franchise!

I mean, hey, he popped up in Lost Judgement. That's one more game than Ichiban.

PROS:
  • High physical damage
  • Good coverage of Blunt and Blade
  • Has debuffs and buffs
  • A really good HP regen
CONS:
  • Somewhat slow
  • Pathetic against magic
  • Only one elemental attack

Gangster is a job that I don't really end up using in both games. Don't know why. Maybe I think Chef works better? Eh, whatever floats your boat. Gangster has ditched a few of the martial artist skills that Zhao had last time, and actually bring COOKING into battle. Fresh Dim Sum and it's improved form of Homecooked Dim Sum grants HP regen and status effect immunity! And he also brings in a giant wok for his first new Kiwami skill!

He's got a skill to lower Defense, one to lower Accuracy (Which is rare honestly), one skill to raise his Defense, and one skill to raise his Attack. All well and good, but it's just like Breaker? But with less speed and more attack power? A lot of his skills focus on a single target, so he works best when it comes down to bosses.

I feel like this job is great, but you could make him a Samurai or Chef. Again, up to you. Maybe you'll have more fun with Gangster than I did.

RECOMMENDED SKILLS:

+ Fresh/Homecooked Dim Sum (Provide HP Regen and Status Effect Immunity to Single/Multiple Allies) : Once you unlock Homecooked, you'res set. It's the Regen skill from the last game, but way better!

+ Essence of Ladder Acrobatics (Damage enemies in radius, chance of Instant KO to last enemy): Handy for Dungeon runs!

RECOMMENDED BRANDS:

+ Seal of Severance/Force/EX: Take his high damage even harder!

+ Seal of Concentration/EX: If he's going to be about damage, then give him the ability do even more damage!
XIII: Rubberneckin'/Cabbie (Tomizawa Exclusive)

Ratchet and the Engineer salute you, random cabbie dude.

WEAPON: Wrenches
BEST WEAPON: Full-Drive Custom Wrench (Chance of Paralyze and lowering Electric Resistance)
(Complete Tomizawa's Drink Link)
UNIQUE ARMOR: Star Ride Jacket (Boost damage to enemy's weaknesses)
(Find in District Five in Chapter 13)

The new kid in town makes a great first impression. Tomizawa might hold you up with a gun when you first met him, but he ended up staying in my party the entire playthrough. Effectively the Nanba of the Hawaiian party, Tomizawa is ready to go at any moment. You'll get used to him shouting: LET ME AT THEM whenever someone comments about the situation not being a show and calls you a ruder form of poopyhead.

PROS:
  • High MP
  • Covers all three Elements
  • Can lower resistance to elements
  • Plenty of AOE

CONS:
  • Subpar stats
  • Magical focus for a job with average Magic
  • Straight up built for damage, no defensive options.

Cabbie is really handy, despite having some low stats. Learns a magic spell for all three elements, and can lower resistance to Fire and Electricity. This means that if an enemy has a built-in resistance or is neutral towards the two, Cabbie can lower it to help boost damage. He's also one of the three party members that have access to Electricity in their default jobs.

The main downside for Cabbe is the lack of other options. While damaging opponents is always the best way to win, it doesn't have any buffs, debuffs (Save for lowering elemental resistances, first Kiwami skill that can lower Defense), healing or status effects to help deal in situations where damage isn't enough. What I'm saying is that if you're low-level or speedrunning, Cabbie's lack of options might make it come up short when other characters can outdamage him.

Still, in the end game, with Shared Skills, Cabbie shines. Get Wonder Cocktail and you're set!

RECOMMENDED SKILLS:

+ Scrubdown (Grapple one enemy to deal Ice Damage, lower Electricity Resistance): While you need a Electricity skill to take advantage of this, the Grapple and Ice effect is still amazing together!

+ Battery Storm (Electricity Damage in radius): It's the same as Aquanaut's Jellyfish juice, but I believe this has a bigger radius.

+ Oil and Toil (Magic damage in radius, lower Fire Resistance): Same as Scrubdown. But hey, there's more Fire skills than Electricity.

RECOMMENDED BRANDS:

+ Seal of Flames/Bolts/EX: Cabbies focus on Fire and Electricity. Easy peasy!

+ Seal of Force: Also Blunt. It has two Bullet attacks, but mostly Blunt

+ Seal of Miracles: Primarily magic skills? Get them to crit to help the average damage.
XIV: Long Black Limousine/Heiress (Chitose Exclusive)

No, you cannot pay your enemies to go away. She doesn't have...Infinite Wealth.

WEAPON: Chokers
BEST WEAPON: Royal Prima Choker (Boost damage against debuffed enemies)
(Complete Chitose's Drink Link)
UNIQUE ARMOR: Prima Ballerina Dress (Recover MP upon getting a buff)
(Find in Nele Island in the Finale)

I was worried that the game's release would result some forced discourse from a bunch of chuds regarding Chitose. A ethnic woman fighting in pants? The pathetic losers that plague the internet would come out in droves to call this game woke...oh wait, that did happen. In the Discussions page of Steam! That's become a big pile of trash.

(Oh, I'll be deleting any comments regarding that particular discussion. Go yell at a wall, it won't argue back and blindly agree with you)

Chitose is effectively akin to Eri, minus being trapped in the Business Dimension. Heiress is also last game's Barmaid...but better.

PROS:
  • Good variety of skills
  • Great speed
  • Can stall enemies

CONS:
  • Focus on Weaponize skills
  • Subpar damage
  • No elements

Well, not too much better. Heiress is good, but not outstandly amazing. It's effective, but not broken. It exists. That's the best I can say for it. The biggest issue is that a majority of the attack skills (4 out of 6) have the Weaponize trait about it. Her best weapon boosts damage against debuffed enemies, which isn't something that Weaponize doesn't apply as it is a passive effect. (CORRECT ME IF IM WRONG) While you can share these skills with other Jobs that might have interesting effects, these are all Blunt. They'll score less damage compared to skills that can hit weaknesses.

And for those debuffs? She does have three debuff skills, with two focusing on lowering Attack and one focusing on the rare Agility debuff. This does mean that she can turn down the difficulty for battles; enemies doing less damage less often? Good thing! She can also Charm/Fear enemies too, so she has a focus on keeping the enemies from bearing down on you.

It's okay, but Chitose has better options. She wants to wear it all, so let her wear it all.

RECOMMENDED SKILLS:

+ Palm Tree Pose (Self buff for Attack and Agility) Hyper Swagger for girls.

+ Spill The Tea/Aperitifs (Heal all allies in a radius/and remove debuffs): AOE Healing is always good. And the better skill removes debuffs? Nice!

+ Triple Corsage (Grapple one enemy to deal Blade damage, chance of lowering Attack): Grapple, Blade and Attack debuff? That's a keeper!

RECOMMENDED BRANDS:

+ Seal of Force/EX: It's all Blunt, save for that one Blade.

+ Seal of Debility/EX: If you got the ultimate weapon, then this will help boost the damage.

+ Seal of Enchantment/Terror: If you want to take advantage of stall tactics.
XV: How the Web Was Woven/Assassin (Seonhee Exclusive)

WEAPONS: Needles
BEST WEAPON: Valkyrie Needles (Chance of Charm and Cold on hit)
(Complete Seeonhee Drink Link)
UNIQUE ARMOR: Eternal Night Jacket (Chance of Agility Buff at start of turn)
(Find in Tojo Clan Headquarters in Chapter 12)

That's not a knife, that's a lot of knives.

After sitting on the sidelines last game (And getting manhandled by Adachi. How did the slowest member ambush one of the fastest ones?), Seonhee joins the party! I've been covering the characters in order of the two party leaders, followed up by the order of the party in the last game. Seonhee joins up in Chapter Eight (Joins before Saeko, Zhao, and Joongi) and she's a mainstay of my party, and maybe you'll see her as the same!

PROS:
  • Access to Electricity and Bullet skills
  • Some skills Crit upon attacking from behind
  • Speedy
  • Load of status effects

CONS:
  • Low Defense

I really couldn't think of any real cons to this job. This job rocks! And I spent so little time in this, spending more time with her as a Kunochi. Maybe I just have a bias towards default classes? Oh well. This one is amazing for a variety of reasons, most of which I just mentioned.

Want to rely on status effects? Seonhee has Blind, Poison, and Paralysis in her kit, and her ultimate weapon can inflict Cold and Charm. She's got a variety of ways of helping stack damage or stalling. Want damage? She has attacks that guarantee a Crit if attacked from behind. And she has Electricity in her kit, with Stentorian Whip being one of the best skills in the entire game. A staple of Seonhee in any job.

Guess she's kinda feeble? Mediocre defense with average HP and Willpower. That's about it.

RECOMMENDED SKILLS:

+ Voltaic/Stentorian Whip (Physical Electric AOE damage, chance of Paralysis): The girls last game didn't get a single Elec skill. Now Seonhee has a really good one!

+ Gatling Bowgun (AOE Bullet damage, guaranteed Crit on back attack): Ooh! This one is also a keeper!

+ Essence of Wicked Web (Magical Electric AOE damage, chance of Paralysis): If you can get it, it's well worth your time.

RECOMMENDED BRANDS:

+ Seal of Bolts/EX: Cannot stress how useful her Electricity skills are.

+ Seal of Blight/Pestilence/Torpor/Enchantment/Darkness/Suffering/Binding: For all of her status effects!

+ Seal of Vigor: She has several kills that guarantee she gets a Crit hit. Take advantage of that!
XVI: The Love Machine/Host (Male Exclusive)

Once again, the guy that eats random crap he finds on the road is the best Host.

WEAPONS: Bottles
BEST WEAPON: Prince of Star Night (Buffs Magic upon defeating enemy)
(Get weapon from Crown Enemy in Yokohama; Alley behind Kasuga's Apartment)
UNIQUE ARMOR: No. 1 Jacket (Reduce damage from Blunt, Blade and Bullet)
(Might be in Safe in Yokohama Dungeon)

THIS JOB IS UNLOCKED IN CHAPTER 8 AFTER ACCESSING ALO-HAPPY IN YOKOHAMA

The Black Mage returns, and returns even greater than before! And while a lot of the returning generic jobs have mostly the same skills, this one does change out one skill...and it turns Host into the best Mage job in the game!

PROS:
  • Best magical damage
  • Covers both Fire and Water elementals
  • Has the Double-Damage magic skill
  • Wide variety of buffs, debuffs, and status effects

CONS:
  • Low physical durability

Host was a really good Job last time, and it's really amazing job this time! Once again being the magical damage class works extremely well in Host's favor. Covering both Fire and Water like last time, the only downside is that the two Kiwami skills have lost their 'Hit-All-Enemies' perk, but make up for it with a big radius.

But the main claim to fame for Host is the Wonder Cocktail skill. This replaces the Secret Cocktail; a skill that would recover HP for self while getting you drunk. The drunk effect remains, but instead of recovering HP, you now double the damage for the next magical skill. This is amazing, even more so for Nanaba, Sujimancer Ichiban, Tomizawa, and Zhao.

Really, the only downside to this job is that it makes the game a little too easy. Don't pick if you want some challenge!

RECOMMEND SHARED SKILLS:

+ Rose Stinger (Magical Fire damage to one enemy. Chance of Burn and Charmed) The damage got better!

+ Ice Spreader (Magical Ice damage to line of enemies. Chance of Cold) Ice Spreader now has an Action Command! Nice!

+ Wonder Cocktail (Double the damage for the next magical attack. Get User drunk.). Give it to your magical guy. Real shame the girls cannot use this.

+ Golden Finger (Steal cash from one enemy) Need money?

+ Essence of Rose Typhoon (Magical Fire damage to multiple enemies. Chance of Burn and Charmed) You'll be spamming this. Why aren't you spamming this right now? Oh right, you need Max Bond. Get that Bond up!

+ Essence of Champagne (Magical Ice damage to multiple enemies. Chance of Cold.) Kill!

RECOMMENDED BRANDS:
+ Seal of Miracles: You can double damage and crit. That's a nuke

+ Seal of Transfiguration: If you're going to attack might as well take advantage of your higher magic stat

+ Seal of Flames/Snow/EX: Boost that insane damage even higher!

+ Seal of Suffering: Burn or Cold an enemy, your choice.

+ Seal of Enchantment/Binding: For Charm, if you're into that.

Before I move on, I have to show these weird screenshots. Leading into Chapter Eleven, I had Tomizawa as a Host previously but took his weapon to give to Nanaba. When I got back...

XVII: Don't/Breaker (Male Exclusive)

...wait, you're still here? Oh, you're a little better? Okay then.

WEAPONS: Anklets
BEST WEAPON: Master Soul Anklet (Recovers MP whenever you get a buff)
(Get weapon from Crown Enemy in Hawaii; Alley west of LiberTea)
UNIQUE ARMOR: Representin' Homies Top (Increase Buff Duration)
(Might find in Safe in Yokohama Dungeon)

THIS JOB IS UNLOCKED IN CHAPTER 8 AFTER ACCESSING ALO-HAPPY IN YOKOHAMA

Breaker returns from the last game, serving the same sort of role as it did last time. As a reminder, Breaker was seen very useful early-game; good damage, chance to buff your stats, very fast, and affordable in terms of MP cost and buying equipment. But by mid-to-late game, it falls down. The damage is lackluster, it's all Blunt damage in a game where a good amount of enemies start to gain Blunt resistance by that point, you have access to more guaranteed buffs that are stronger, and the AOE are bad. One is supposed to be AOE...but it never hits any more than one target.

And it returns...but the mechanics of this game work a bit more in its favor. Somewhat.

PROS:
  • Can buff all of the stats
  • Fastest Male Job
  • Can potentially never run out of MP

CONS:
  • Low damage
  • While Blunt is neutral, being only Blunt means it cannot score weakness without Shared Skills
  • Chance of getting a buff is not the same as getting a buff. You have skills that give you a buff.
  • Low defenses

Breaker is still mediocre, but a little better. This class really needs the Seal of Renewal/EX, but once you do get that, you got a class that stack buffs as high as you want. All well and good, but again. You have skills that give guaranteed buffs, ones that can affect the entire party. There's one skill that can buff the party's Critical Hit rate...but you got better options. Again, guaranteed.

This does lead to the problem; this job doesn't provide really good skills to the other classes. I didn't use any of the skills in any other classes. There's so many buffs available to the other classes, Breaker doesn't really compete. Well, at least the Kiwami skills are good.

It does get better if you get your hands on the best weapon. It restores MP upon getting a buff, and with the Seal of Renewal EX granting practically guaranteed buffs, you will literally not run out of MP! Which is good, given how little MP you have in this game. It doesn't really fix the main issue of low damage, but hey! It helps.

RECOMMENDED SHARED SKILLS:

+ Collapsing Chair/Double Hatchet (Chance of Attack/Magic buff): Might as well get some damage buffs going.

+ Hangman Twist (Grapple one enemy, chance of Critical Hit Rate buff to self and nearby teammates): Eh. It's a Grapple.

+ Essence of Rolling Mixer (Damage one enemy with Weaponize, clear debuffs): Might as well. Not like a cleanse is going to be useless.

+ Essence of Breakdance Delight (AOE Damage, may heal party): Good, but I'm still hoping that Breaker doesn't return for the next game.

RECOMMENDED BRANDS:

+ Seal of Force/Force EX: It only does Blunt.

+ Seal of Renewal/EX: Get the best weapon, and get this FIRST. It makes Breaker...useful.

+ Seal of Concentration/EX: If it helps, it helps!
XVIII: Ito Eats/Chef (Male Exclusive)

Needs more buttah.

WEAPON: Giant Utensils
BEST WEAPON: Chef de Cuisine's Spoon (Increases both Skill Damage and MP Cost)
(Beat Crown Enemy in Yokohama Chinatown, in the Pavilion)
UNIQUE ARMOR: Three-Star Chef Coat (Chance of Critical Hit Rate buff at start of turn)
(Might find in Chest in Yokohama Underground)

THIS JOB IS UNLOCKED IN CHAPTER 8 AFTER ACCESSING ALO-HAPPY IN YOKOHAMA

Chef returns, and it's a little bit lacking since last time. What was a Job that used both Physical and Magical well, is a job that's lacking compared to other classes. Still OP for Zhao.

PROS:
  • Good damage, with good stats for both Physical and Magic
  • Ways of buffing damage against enemies with status effects

CONS:
  • Weak Magical Attacks save for final one
  • Low defenses
  • Reliant on good stats and status effects

Chef is still good, but it pales in comparison to a few other Jobs. Bleed-based damage? Samurai does more. Status Effects? Desperado. Only really Zhao can take advantage of the stats to really do some damage. Again, makes sense given how he's focusing more on cooking this time around. Ichiban and maybe Tomizawa, but this job is practically built for Zhao.

Two skills has been nerfed from last time. Wound Opener has gone from Heavy to Medium, and now it removes Bleeding upon use. This makes it worse then Samurai, who has several skills that do bonus damage WITHOUT removing Bleeding. Although I will say that I had a better time getting Bleed to trigger with Chef than I did with Samurai. Probably because Chef has way more skills to inflict Bleeding, and they're stronger.

And then there's the fire skills. Probably because there's more in this game and all skills can be transferred, they nerfed Well Done. It used to do Heavy Damage. Now it does Light. And because you cannot have an enemy with both Burn and Bleed, it means that if you're going to use any magical attacks in this form, it's either from the final Kiwami skill or from Shared Skills.

It is a job that does become better with Shared Skills, and again, I cannot state how much Zhao gets raw benefits from this. Your results might vary.

RECOMMENDED SKILLS:

+ Peppermill Blow (Grapple one enemy, chance to Blind): The legend returns!

+ Cutlery Crash/Essence of Human Grafting (Blade damage to one enemy, high chance of Bleed) Samurais need this.

+ Pressure Cooker Slam (Damage all enemies in radius, chance of Stun): A decent AOE for guys that lack a good AOE.

RECOMMENDED BRANDS:

+ Seal of Severance/Force/EX: This job mixes both Blade and Blunt. Take advantage of this.

+ Seal of Bloodshed/Suffering: Gets guaranteed Bleeding.

+ Seal of Concentration/EX/Vigor/Anguish: This class does do well with Critical Hits, even more so that a good number of these skills hit multiple times and the unique armor increases your chance of critting.
XIX: Beyond the Reef/Aquanaut (Male Exclusive)

Don't hold out brah, dontcha want to be a hero?

WEAPON: Surfboards
BEST WEAPON: Ocean King's Board (Buffs Physical Damage at Max HP)
(Beat Crown Enemy at Aloha Beach, next to the Juicery)
UNIQUE ARMOR: Poseidon's Wetsuit (All attacks ignore resistances)
(May be in Chest in Hawaii Dungeon)

Diving Tour Activity, Need Kindness Lvl.1. Obtained as apart of Tutorial.

When all of us saw the reveal trailer, I think we all saw this coming a mile away. Their would be a job that's all about surfing and uses a surfboard. I think we got something that is legitmanitely useful than a lot of us thought!

And as a sidenote, while playing through this game, I ended up watching through Allison Pregler's Baywatching series at least twice, the episodes covering Baywatch Nights a third time. Absolutely lovely series. Can I get a 'MY SAVE!' in the comments, or your favorite quote from the show? (Mine is: "BACK DEMON! A CONTINUAL SWARM OF WOODPECKERS UPON THEE!")

PROS:
  • Very well-balanced in terms of stats
  • Great AOE Healing
  • Good variety of AOE skills

CONS:
  • Generally low damage
  • Really only Ice damage

This is effectively a Dragon QuestHero job for the Male Characters. Eh, somewhat. It is a job that has AOE Healing, an Electric Spell, and AOE Attack Skills. You can call it a stretch, but hey, that's one more Electric attack than Ichiban's own Hero class. It even has the same stat gains as Hero, just with one less point in HP and one more in MP.

The one downside is the low damage. It only does Blunt damage, so it cannot take advantage of enemies' weakness to Bullet or Blade. This job doesn't get a lot of high damage skills until later. If you don't work with this class early on, it's going to be less useful in the late game. Getting this class' better weapons should be a priority.

Another thing about it is that most of the skills are Ice. Five of them are Ice Elementals, four of their weapons are Ice, and those will make NINE skills do Ice Damage. One of those weapons are their Ultimate too! Not a bad thing, there's not a lot of enemies that resist Ice, but those who do are going to invalidate Aquanaut.

Really, the job is good but it doesn't really solve any real problems. Good job to have, but not one to really stick with.

RECOMMENDED SKILLS:

+ Beachside Bro-BQ/Beachside Bro-ffet (Recover HP for nearby allies) No brainer. You outright get the first one upon getting into Aquanaut for the first time. Upgrade it to the better one once you do.

+ Jellyfish Juice (Deal Elec Magic to enemies in a radius, chance of Paralysis.) It's the closest thing we got to Fulminating Forecast in this game. It's also the only Magical Electrical skill...that's worth using.

RECOMMENDED BRANDS:

+ Seal of Snow/EX: You only use Ice damage. Get it.

+ Seal of Force/EX: And Blunt damage.
XX: Crazy Arms/Action Star (Male Exclusive)

Matthew Yang King let out a long sigh as he looked at the script, muttering: "Liu Kang again?"

WEAPON: Nunchakus
BEST WEAPON: Nightstone Nunchaku (Boosts Physical Damage given, increased damage from enemies)
(On Aloha Bridge, south of Fancy Cookies)
UNIQUE ARMOR: Iconic Jumpsuit (Nulls Restrictive status effectS))
(Might be in Safe in Hawaii Dungeon)

Parasailing Experience, Need Charisma Lvl.4 and $200

So Breaker was a...big fat disappointment. All Blunt, and no bite. But now that we gone to America, it's time to go Hong-Kongnse? Hong-Kongers is apparently the term for them. Yes, a cursory search shows that Bruce Lee was born in USA.

Let out your best Kiai, swing some sticks around, this class is all about hitting enemies where it hurts: in the HP bar! Maybe. Also, who had the best Bruce Lee noises? Post your answer down in the comments.

PROS:
  • High physical damage
  • Has the Double Physical skill

CONS:
  • Average stat build
  • Blunt only (Save for one Bullet skill)
  • No elements
  • Primarily focus on single-target damage

There really isn't much to this class. This is basically the Heavy Weapons Guy of this game; a good beginner class that does good damage, but it's usually outclassed by other characters. Serviceable at worst and reliable at best.

That being said, it is really good at dealing damage, but if you want to use this class to the most you can, you do need some stuff from other jobs. Some Blade, a better Bullet skill, and some elements, and this job can be bit better. And some better AOE! There's less bosses in this game compared to the last one (Not counting Crown enemies, which are only mini-boss like enemies) and trust me, you want some good AOE.

But it's main claim to fame is Relentless Dragon's Dance. This skill doubles the damage of the next physical attack you deal. (This used to be used by follow-up attacks, but I think a patch fixed it so it wouldn't get wasted) This skill should belong in all of your physical damage dealers, so they can take their damage to some insane levels!

RECOMMENDED SKILLS:

+ Relentless Dragon's Dance (Doubles the damage of the next Physical attack): God-tier. Not using it means you could be stupid, bad at this game, or wanting some degree of challenge.

+ Tiger's Palm Strike (Damage to one enemy, damage and hits dependent on action commands): This does some stupid-high damage. Combine with his brother and this will murder most things.

RECOMMENDED BRANDS:

+ Seal of Force/EX: All Blunt. All power.

+ Seal of Concentration/EX/Vigor: It's about damage, so give it even MOAR.
XXI: I Washed My Hands in Muddy Water/Samurai (Male Exclusive)

And while the Bodyguard was busy sucking, the Samurai was studying the blade!

WEAPONS: Katanas
BEST WEAPON: Enchanted Demon Slayer (Increase duration of status effects on enemies)
(Defeat Crown Enemy on the skybridge near Hamakita Park in Yokohama)
UNIQUE ARMOR: Armor of an Unified Nation (Buff Agility against more enemies)

Trolley Tour, Need Confidence LVL.5 and $1600.

Last time around, the katana wielding class Bodyguard sucked, and could easily be considered to be the worst job in the game. Real shame about the katana. But this time? This time? Oh, hoho! They made it SO much better! Top 5 in the game! You're going to love this job.

PROS:

  • High Physical Damage, increases with Bleeding enemies
  • Access to both Blade and Bullet skills
  • Both AOE and Single-Target Skills
  • One of the best Shared Skills in the game

CONS:
  • Really slow
  • Kinda dependent on Shared Skills

Samurai is so worth the investment. It's high damage is only rivaled by Host, Dragon of Dojima, and Action Star. And Action Star is completely trumped by this class! Relentless Dragon's Dance makes Samurai even more busted.

Helping matters is one of the game's best skills. Burning Arrow. This is this game's version of Fulminating Forecast. Somewhat. That skill was Electric Magic that targeted one enemy and two random ones with a chance of Paralyzing. Burning Arrow combines Fire and Bullet damage with a wide AOE and some HEAVY damage.

There really isn't much of a weakness to Samurai, besides having one of the lower speed scores. But I do think it does need some of the Shared Skills to be useful. The previously mentioned RDD, as well as some better abilities to inflict Bleed, such as the ones from Chef.

RECOMMENDED SKILLS:

+ Burning Arrow (Bullet Fire damage to AOE): One of the best if not the best skill. Only lacking status effects.

+ Glory Awaits (Boost Attack and Critical Chance to allies in AOE): Wait, I can do EVEN more damage? Ah, like getting a extra donut in the box.

+ Shadow Dance (Blade damage to one enemy, increased damage to Bleeding opponents): Great damage, completely trumps Wounder Opener.

+ Essence of Sengoku (Blade damage to AOE, boost Critical Hit Chance): Bodyguard, why didn't YOU have this?

RECOMMENDED BRANDS:

+ Seal of Bloodshed/Seal of Suffering: You need Bleed to really amp up the damage.

+ Seal of Severance/EX: You're doing only Blade damage. Get it.

+ Seal of Steel/EX: If you're planning on doing more with your Bullet skills.

+ Seal of Concentration/EX/Vigor/Anguish: Inflict Bleeding and use the other skills to really take the damage to stupid high levels. Imagine Erik from Dragon Quest 11 levels of damage. Oh yeah.

NOTES:

+ I think the actual ultimate weapon for Samurai is not the Enchanted Demon Slayer, but the second strongest one, Moonflower. Enchanted Demon Slayer only extends Status Effects on enemies, which might help with the Bleeding, but really? Moonflower's random buffs work out in the long run. Attack, Defense, Willpower and Agility all benefit Samurai.
XXII: Ghost Riders in the Sky/Desperado (Male Exclusive)

Fallout New Vegas Launch Party still going.

WEAPON: Revolvers
BEST WEAPON: Seventh Wolf (Boost Crit Hit Chance by 30% per status effects on enemies)
(Beat Crown Enemy on the east side of the ABC Store in Little Japan)
UNIQUE ARMOR: Wilderness Django Leathers (Increased status effect duration on enemies)
(May find in Safe in Hawaii Dungeon)

Water Gun Shootout. Must have Style Lvl.5 and $1600

Get your guns on! Last time, Bullet skills were a rarity. Girls needed the DLC to access any gun skills. And now? We're in America, guns are more common than Mr. Pibb, and we get a Cowboy class! As an Texan myself, I was worried about this class' performance. I'm not overly fond of using status effects in RPGs due to the problem of them not doing much for me and always failing when I do need them.

But yippie-kayie! This class quenched my thirst more than a large glass of ice-cold lemonade in the middle of a Texan summer!

PROS:
  • Loads of Bullet skills
  • Has Fire and Ice Magic
  • Loads of MP
  • Loads of status effects

CONS:
  • Low defenses
  • Okay damage
  • Lackluster AOE

Bang, bang! Desperado brings the good stuff to the dinner table. There's a good amount of good skills in this class. And yet? I don't think it's a late-game class. It's okay in the late game, better in the early game. It's like Breaker...but better. Way better. Like, I would love to have this class in the next game! It's fun!

It's main gimmick is status effects. Most of the skills can inflict status effects on enemies. It can inflict Silence, Sleep, Paralyze, Poison, Cold, and Burn! This would be an overpowered class in the last game, where you could stack status effects like this. But with the system only allowing for one of each type, it means that you got to pick and choose. Silence is the most common here.

Bullet damage all day long with this class. But they tend to focus on Weaponize, but that can be to your benefit. The second best weapon, Roaring Lightning, can instantly KO. Coupled that it also does Electric damage, the other element that this class brings, it might make for a better choice than the Seventh Wolf.

It's best benefit is the MP you get, and a really good Ice skill! Like, I really want to gush how about useful Poisoned Cloudburst is. This skill carries. This skills makes the game easier! This skill makes love.

RECOMMENDED SKILLS:

+ Sedative Shot (Bullet damage to one enemy, Weaponize, chance of Sleep): What, a Weaponize skill that has a side-effect built in? Can...can they do that?

+ Firing Squad (Bullet damage AOE line with Weaponize): A gift? For me? Ah, Joongi, you shouldn't have!

+ Poisoned Cloudburst (Ice Magic AOE with chance to Poison): Get it. Get it. Why are you reading this? Get it. It does damage. It does so much damage! I love this skill. This ain't no moonshine, indeed!

+ Campfire Cook (Recover self HP and cleanses status effects): Decent, better for the Hawaiian team due to the lack of Zhao

+ Dynamite Fever (Fire Magic AOE with chance to Burn): Megaton Throw returns!

RECOMMENDED BRANDS:

+ Seal of Steel/EX: Get more gun out of your guns!

+ Seal of Suffering/Binding: Look fella. This here? A practical problem. Apply some practical solutions to it.

+ Seal of Anguish/Vigor: Anguish is just built for Desperado, even more so with Seventh Wolf. It's okay damage output becomes greater!
XXIII: Burning Love/Pyrodancer (Male Exclusive)

This axe is meant for dancing, killing and making pineapple smoothies.

WEAPON: Axes
BEST WEAPON: Dead Souls Axe (Buffs Attack after defeating an enemy)
(Beat Crown Enemy in Chinatown, Southeast of the House of Wushu)
UNIQUE ARMOR: Heavenly Garments (Survive death with 1 HP, buff Critical Chance at lower HP)
(May find in Safe in Hawaiian Dungeon)

Fire Dancing Exhibition. Must have Passion Lvl.3 and $200

So last game, I considered Bodyguard to be the worst job. While objectively a bit better than Barmaid and Freelancer, those two are character-specific while Bodyguard is available to all male characters. It didn't do much; it was a class that would trade HP for greater damage, but the greater damage wasn't a lot compared to classes that could do the damage without needing to be at low HP to be good. Coupled with one of the worst buff skills in the game, Bodyguard was just a job you got for the permanent stat increases and maybe the Blade skill (And if you have the DLC, you get a better Blade skill)

But Pyrodancer is a bit better. I say Breaker, Sujimancer and Night Queen are worse though.

PROS:
  • High Offense stats
  • Provides plenty of useful buffs
  • Better version of Bodyguard from last game.
  • Provides some Fire attacks

CONS:
  • Dies quickly
  • Damage isn't the best
  • It's still Bodyguard

I can easily say that I spent little time with this job. Maybe I didn't feel like with the enemies in this game being a lot more dangerous than last time (Even more so in the dungeons!) that a job that has pathetic defenses and generally okay damage output didn't feel like a good idea. I never stuck with it and now that I have finished the game, I do wonder if I should have stuck with it?

It does have a good deal of great buffs! War Cry is a much better version of Bodyguard's Berserker's Spirit. For starters, IT LAST MORE THAN ONE TURN. That immediately jumps it way higher. War Drum is good to have, you get a Regen skill, and Ancient Panacea is decent but outclassed.

Now, when I keep referring Pyrodancer to Bodyguard, it's not really the same. For starters, there's only one self-damage skill, and it's the LAST one you get. That being said, it does have a nice syngery with the first Kiwami skill. That one does more damage with less HP, and the second Kiwami does more damage at higher HP while lowering it. But the big advantage of Pyrodancer are the vampire skills. Soul Capture and Soul Predation allow you to regain HP!

It's kinda of an awkward job. Even the basic attack looks weird. I'll leave it to you if you think this job works out for you. Don't use Mask of Punishment though. It's the Diet, Zero, Flat Knock-off Brand of Fulminating Forecast. (Why does the job description mention high magical damage? It only knows 2 Magic attacks and they both deal Light damage!)

RECOMMENDED SKILLS:

+ Soul Capture/Predation (Blade damage with Weaponize to single target/AOE. Steal HP): Hey, vampire skills are always useful.

+ Mask of Fertility (Grant HP Regen to allies in AOE): Endless Love! Oh wait, that's the last game.

+ Heart Drum (Buff Defense to allies in AOE): Handy!

+ Wary Cry (Buff Attack for Self): Berserker's Spirit's older and more successful brother.

RECOMMENDED BRANDS:

+ Seal of Flames/Severance/Force/EX: Boost the damage!
XXIV: A Big Hunk o' Love/Idol (Female Exclusive)

Don't call it a comeback. It's really not.

WEAPONS: Microphones
BEST WEAPON: Photon Symphony Microphone (Chance of Magic buff at start of turn)
(Crown Enemy West of Theater Alley Taxi, in front of where Mach Bowl used to be)
UNIQUE ARMOR: Shiny Dream Dress (Boosts HP recovery from skills)

Make no mistake, Idol was one of the best classes last time. The only real healing class; capable of healing, cleanses, reviving, and one of the best debuffing skills. It is considered to be Saeko's best job in that game, better than Barmaid. But this time...things are different. And the changes really didn't benefit Idol in any way...

THIS JOB IS UNLOCKED IN CHAPTER 8 AFTER ACCESSING ALO-HAPPY IN YOKOHAMA

PROS:
  • Best healing and cleanse in the game
  • Provides some amazing skills for Sharing

CONS:
  • No magical attacks for magical class
  • Low damage
  • Outpaced in stats by other jobs

Real shame. Idol was a job that Saeko could use all game, last-game. This time, all of its skills are best used in other classes. One big thing about Idol last game was that it was the only job really dedicated to healing. Nanba had some natural healing skills that could target other people than the self and were available on him the entire time, but he was built more for doing damage than for healing. Ichiban did have some great healing skills, but they were tied to Hero. Meaning that if he wanted to use him in a different job, you lose access to those skills.

But now? Nanba has lost all of his main healing skills (Save for his best self-target skill and a new AOE skill), but now? So many other classes have healing skills and they all can be shared. Aquanuat, Breaker, Geodancer, Hero, Heiress and Homeless Guy have AOE healing. Geodancer, Pyrodancer and Sujimancer have AOE Regen. Desperado and Linebacker have self-targeting healing skills that add additional effects.

Have you seen SkyminSlash's video on Medic vs Mercy? This is just like that. Idol in 7 is like Medic; it's the only real option for healing. And in 8, it's become Mercy. You got other options and they have their greater strengths. While enemies are much more dangerous, you have so many more options for healing besides Idol. Heck, you can make AOE healing items. In a lot of different locations too! (Unlike how, last game, you needed to go back to Survive to make the Bento Boxes)

Really, Idol's lack of magical attacks means it exists in a bad place between Housekeeper and Geodancer. Housekeeper can actually do magical damage and Geodancer has the better stats...and it has magical attacks!

Idol exists. That's about it. You have better options. Good for getting the skills, but not worth using. I don't have the Master Vacation Bundle, so I don't have access to New Game Plus. Perhaps on a higher difficulty Idol will be more useful? Maybe one day I'll get that. OR I'll wait to see if Sega makes it available for free. Could or could not happen.

RECOMMENDED SKILLS:

+ Magical Voice (Heal one ally) There's only two skills that just heal one person in this game. This is one of them.

+ Magical Song (Heal all allies in the radius) AOE Healing is always good.

+ Lovedrunk Typhoon (Lower Defense and chance to Charm all enemies in radius) Hey, the greater Sexy Pose is now available for use for all classes! Sweet deal!

+ Miraculous Voice (Remove status effects from all allies) In a game with most skills having a set range, a skill that just targets everyone regardless of where they are is always going to be good. And it removes status effects too.

+ Magical Concert (Heals all allies back to full HP in radius) Last game, Magical Song really could replace this skill if your Healing was high enough. This time? Magical Concert is well worth the use.

RECOMMENDED BRANDS:

+ Seal of Transfiguration: Might as well take SOME advantage of your higher magic stat.

+ Seal of Siphon/EX: More MP is good.

+ Seal of Enchantment/Binding: Charm stacking is good. It does improve Glowstick Fury, if you want to use that.

+ Seal of Debility/EX: Make sure those Defense debuffs work!
XXV: The Meanest Girl in Town/Night Queen (Female Exclusive)

Hit hard, play harder.

WEAPON: Whips
BEST WEAPON: Ulysses Butterfly Whip (High chance of Instant KO on lower HP enemies, buffs Critical Hit chance upon defeating an enemy)
(Beat Crown Enemy in Yokohama, the back alley southeast of Welcome Pharmacy)
UNIQUE ARMOR: Super Lady Bondage (Recover MP upon defeating enemies)
(May find in Safe in Yokohama Dungeon)

Uh, hi. You're back? You were...okay in the last game. That's probably due to the fact that Saeko isn't built for Physical damage and Eri had a better option in her default job of Clerk. Being primarily Blunt too didn't help matters as any number of enemies could resist Blunt. Now with two more girls in the party that can deal more damage and Blunt being made a Neutral element...

It's okay. At the end of the day, it's okay.

THIS JOB IS UNLOCKED IN CHAPTER 8 AFTER ACCESSING ALO-HAPPY IN YOKOHAMA

PROS:
  • Good damage
  • Has some debuffs

CONS:
  • Only focuses on Blunt
  • Really low Willpower
  • Not so good AOE

Ugh, Night Queen is the ladies' equivalent to the guy's Breaker. I really don't have much to add or say about this.

It's got a variety of different debuffs/status effects. It can primarily Charm. It's got some Grapples.

I do feel burned out, but really? This job doesn't really appeal to me. It might hit harder than Heiress, but Heiress has more debuffs and better AOE. It is not as fast as Kunochi, nor as potentially as powerful as it. I guess the ultimate weapon is good. That's about it. You might find more use than I did.

But man, both of the returning girl's jobs are so meh. They could have brought back Dealer, but no. If you got anything else to add, please tell me. Because I'm so bored of this job.

RECOMMENDED SKILLS:

+ Luscious Guillotine (Grapple one enemy. If KO, boost Attack): Decent if for the fact it's a Grapple.

+ Vital Vibration (Grapple one enemy with Electricity, chance of lowering Defense): Okay. Chitose and Saeko could use this, but Seonhee has a much better Electricity skill.

+ Essence of Titillating Claws (Heal one ally other self back to full, boosting Attack): Wait, they made this skill actually useful.

RECOMMENDED BRANDS:

+ Seal of Force/EX: It's only Blunt, save for that one random Magic Fire skill.

+ Seal of Enchantment: For Charming!
XXVI: Sweet Leilani/Geodancer (Female Exclusive)

Dance, earth, dance!

WEAPON: Maracas
BEST WEAPONS: Paradise Maracas (Chance of Magic buff at start of turn, Recover HP when getting buffed)
(Beat Crown Enemy East of Hip Hop Shrimp on Aloha Street)
UNIQUE ARMOR: Paradise Bikini (Boost magical damage at Max HP)
(May find in Safe in Hawaiian Dungeon)

Hula Exhibition. Must have Passion Lvl.1 and $200

So while Pyrodancer was generally mediocre, Geodancer is a bit better! While it's a little lackluster compared to Housekeeper, Geodancers brings a lot to the field and I wish I spent more time with this.

PROS:
  • High magical damage
  • Amazing support skills
  • Best Willpower debuffer

CONS:
  • Fragile
  • No elements OR attack types

Geodancer has some amazing skills. Geez, I could fill the entire section with all of the skills you could assign to the girls. This job does so much for magic damage. In fact, it completely lacks ANY physical attack skills outside of the Basic Attack. It heals, it buffs, it debuffs! Wait, shouldn't this be in the Housekeeper section?

As mentioned, it doesn't have any elements. It's basically Blunt, but minus the Blunt. And no elements, outside of the two Weaponize skills you get. That is if you want to use the elemental weapons. It also has some low HP, Defense and Willpower? Huh. Guess low Willpower is a trait that defines Geodancer.

But hey! You can assign Housekeeper skills to Geodancer to make up for the lack of elements! The only downside is that the girls don't get Wonder Cocktail. Shame.

RECOMMENDED SKILLS:

+ Harmonious Hula (Boosts Magic of self and all allies in AOE): Good, great when you get Host!

+ Coconut Shower (Recover HP of self and all allies in AOE): Getting Geodancer and Aquanuat early on and unlocking their HP recover skills is a smart idea.

+ Ukulele Strum (Boost Willpower and Evasion of self and all allies in AOE): Handy!

+ Breath of Life (Revive fallen ally with 1/2 HP): Why not?

+ Kuma Hula Corkscrew (Grapple one enemy, deal magic damage, and chance to lower Willpower): Oh-ho! This is amazing!

+ Blossoming 'Uli'uli (Deal magic damage with Weaponize): Real high damage!

+ Essence of Natural Healing (Restore all HP to all allies, remove status effects): Hey, Megaten Salvation is here!

RECOMMENDED BRANDS:

+ Seal of Debility/EX: If you lower the enemies' Willpower, then you'll do more damage.

+ Seal of Miracles: Hey, look, the ONE downside is that being all magic is that you lack Critical...oh, hey, it's been fixed.

+ Seal of Transfiguration: And now you have no Physical attacks.
XXVII: Clean Up Your Own Backyard/Housekeeper (Female Exclusive)

May I kick your ass, sir?

WEAPONS: Mops/Staffs
BEST WEAPON: Mop of Madonna (Boost damage to enemy weaknesses)
(Crown Enemy West of Theater Alley Taxi, in front of where Mach Bowl used to be)
UNIQUE ARMOR: Home Mistress Dress (Chance of Magic buff at start of turn)
(May find in Chest in Yokohama Dungeon)

So last time, the girls didn't really get a good magical class. Hostess didn't really match 1-to-1 to the Host, not helping them is the fact that while the boys got two Kiwami skills that hit all enemies, the girls got two Kiwami skills that only target one enemy and one of them is an insta-kill. Saeko was also the only one (Out of the two girls, one of them being optional) to really use this class, but she had the much more preferred Idol class for her to use.

However! Housekeeper? Much better!

Duty-Free Shopping. Must have Kindness Lvl.4 and $200

PROS:
  • High magical damage
  • Covers Fire and Water elements
  • Can remove buffs
  • Can steal money from multiple enemies

CONS:
  • Redundant skills
  • No debuffs, minimal status effects

I cannot deny how good this job can be, and how stupid I am for not using this job. Probably because how little I used Hostess in the last game. Housekeeper is fantastic for doing damage, and it's really more like what Hostess should have been. Fire and Ice, and some good AOE!

What I mean by redundant skills is that a lot of the skills you pick up have better versions. Bubble Breach is outpaced by Bubble Bale. Iron Maiden is outpaced by Iron Matriarch. Leave No Streaks is outpaced by Scouring Sweep. There's just a lot of skills that easily replaceable.

But hey! It's a magical job that doesn't have a single physical attack! Besides the basic one. That makes it better than Idol because it actually do damage. One big advantage of Housekeeper is that has two skills that can remove buffs from enemies. Handy for dealing with bosses and the enemies that love to turtle behind defense buffs.

But the best skill? Money Sucker! It can rob all enemies, provided they're in front of you. Use it against Crown Enemies and you'll truly have Infinite Wealth!

RECOMMENDED SKILLS:

+ Bubble Breach/Bubble Bale (Deal Ice Magic to enemies in a radius): Really handy, seeing how most enemies are weak to Ice and it's got a great range. Even more so for Bale.

+ Money Sucker (Steal money from enemies. Can control the direction): Mr. Krabs would buy this. He would buy this with his one millionth dollar. It's that good!

+ Scrum Scraper (Grapple one enemy, deal Ice Magic, and remove buffs) Breaks guard, does magical damage AND remove buffs? Yes please!

RECOMMENDED BRANDS:

+ Seal of Flames/Snow/EX: Boost the damage of your two elements.

+ Miracles: Crit hits? On a class that has a lot of multi-hits? YES.

+ Transfiguration: And just like that, the ONE attack that uses Attack is gone.
XXVIII: Dark Moon/Kunoichi (Female Exclusive)

Say you want about the Yakuza series and how it handles female characters. Definitely miles above the Naruto series.

WEAPON: Knife
BEST WEAPON: Cursed Dagger of Glorious Death (Greatly buffs Agility when defeating an enemy)
(Beat Crown Enemy in Yokohama, on top of the Parking Garage above Can Quest)
UNIQUE ARMOR: Jonin Vest of the Iga-Ryu (Increase duration of buffs and debuffs caused by user)
(May find in Safe in Yokohama Dungeon)

Being the grand prize winner, it was fairly obvious that Eri wouldn't be coming back. It's a real shame, seeing how busted Eri is. High physical damage and speedy to boot! Clerk was really the Ninja class. (Not to mention that she could be around during a time in which you're supposed to be down to 3 members). Hopefully she can make a return in some way. Maybe a Poundmate in the next game?

Anyway, she might be gone, but her class has remained!

Yoga on the Shore. Need Intellect Lvl.5 and $1600.

PROS:
  • Good, reliable damage
  • Fastest class in the game, can go even faster
  • One of the best shared skill in the game

CONS:
  • Fragile
  • Kinda pointless Magic skills

Dang, we are blessed to have this! Despite not having the highest attack stats, this class can output some real damage! Not at first though. The biggest draw of this class is the numerous ways you can boost your Agility, and this on a class that outright ZIPS to its targets. Like, it just runs. This is awesome!

Now, all of these Agility buffs do come with an interesting skill. Shadow Clone Jutsu. This skill consumes one stack of your Agility buffs to do more damage, with higher damage with higher Agility. It can actually give you an Agility debuff if used with no Agility buffs...and take it even lower if you already have a debuff!

It's got some magic skills, and they're okay. I'll call them pointless because Geodancer has better options for neutral magic damage, and those lower Willpower to amp up damage. These cause status effects, which is okay, but I refer to them as pointless mostly because Kunoichi doesn't really focus on status effects.

And then there's the main claim to fame. Substitution Jutsu. This literally replaces the user's turn with a selected ally. This effectively grants another ally a second turn! This is one of the best Shared Skills in the game. Chitose and Saeko can make great use of this, if you spec them into support roles. Don't need healing/buffing/debuffing? Give it to your damage dealer! Need more healing/buffing/debuffing? Give it to them!

Amazing class! I spent a lot of time with this.

RECOMMENDED SKILLS:

+ Winged Kunai (Bullet damage to one enemy, number of hits increase with successful action prompt. May increase Agility); Nice, nice!

+ Deluge of Stars (Bullet damage in a wave, may increase Agility): It's not Thumbstack Scatter, but it will do.

+ Substitution Jutsu (Give user's turn over to an ally of choice): Doesn't matter what you're doing. Use this well (Even more so with combined with RDD and MC)

+ Scattering of Flowers (Magic Fire damage to AOE, may increase Agility): Really useful! Does a bit more damage than you expect!

+ Shadow Clone Jutsu (Damage random enemies, with more hits with higher Agility buffs. Debuffs Agility after use): I put this here mostly because it's a real boss killer. It will be a bit harder to work with in other jobs, but Seonhee and Chitose do have Agility buffs that could use this.

RECOMMENDED BRANDS:

+ Seal of Severance/EX: It's mostly Blade, so take full advantage of that.

+ Seal of Renewal/EX: Want to use Shadow Clone Jutsu more often? Get this to make sure you have plenty of Agility buffs

NOTES:

+ Seonhee is a great fit for Kunoichi for one good reason: her special armor. It can provide an Agility buff at the start of her turn, which means she can go more often and use Shadow Clone Jutsu more effectively.

+ Much like Samurai, I believe the best weapon for the class is actually the second one. While Cursed Dagger can give an Agility buff, Karasuma's Secret's ability to add debuffs complements it a bit better.
XXIX: You Better Run/Linebacker (Male Exclusive, DLC)

Hut one! Hut two! Dallas Cowboys suck the root, hike!

WEAPONS: Wristbands
BEST WEAPON: Fumble Force Band (Damages enemy upon Perfect Guard)
(Buy the base weapon at the Hawaii Dungeon)
UNIQUE ARMOR: Kaleidoscopic Padding (Reduce damage based around the amount of enemies)
(Buy at Anaconda Sports Shop for $140,000)

In my last guide, I didn't really go into detail over the DLC jobs. I didn't get the DLC for the PC version, just the PS4. And because the DLC jobs had the highest requirements to unlock, I didn't feel like it would make a difference to the guide. Those DLC jobs were pretty busted though.

But this time, because I preordered it on my PC, I will be covering the DLC jobs! Starting with Linebacker!...and I would have prefered a job based around baseball, but Ichiban already uses bats and American Football isn't that popular in Japan, so...yeah! Better game than any of the recent Madden titles, huh?

NOTE: The DLC jobs have to be unlocked in the same measure as the other Alo-Happy jobs. Additionally, their unique armor and Job-EXP boosting accessories have to be bought at the Anaconda Mall.

Coconut Tasting. Need Confidence Lvl.5 and $1600.

PROS:
  • Incredibly tanky, capable of activating Rage to draw fire.
  • Plenty of grapple skills
  • Speedy

CONS:
  • Tanking doesn't do that much in the long run.
  • Generally okay damage
  • Skills are either great or meh

It's been talked about to death, but Linebacker is a good job in a game that doesn't really need it. While enemies do more damage from the last game, Linebacker doesn't really benefit you too much. A big thing is that most major enemies now have AOE attacks, and Linebacker doesn't cover that. It's even worse in the dungeons, with the smaller rooms practically guaranteeing more than one person is going to get hit.

Without tanking, Linebacker is really okay. It is tanky and it is fast. Rare to find a tank so fast, but hey! Linebacker does work well with Adachi, who needs it. He really needs it. The biggest benefit to Linebacker is the good number of grapples, so it can take out the turtling enemies.

It's biggest issue is that the damage isn't really the greatest. It also has a pretty bad skill in the form of the Hail Mary Bomb, which is a delayed fire skill. Never been a fan of skills that take additional turns to activate outside of Pokemon. Plus, it's a Magic skill on a class with the lowest Magical rating.

Still, I encourage you to try the class out for yourself if you got the DLC. You might find different results.

RECOMMENDED SKILLS:

+ Cooler Shower (Heal self and buff Defense): Really good! Really good!

+ Conservation Attempt (Bullet damage to one enemy, chance of attacking other enemies): It's a bit random if it does hit other enemies, but it's good if it does. Does a lot more damage than you think too!

+ Essence of Showboating (Deal damage to AOE, increase defense of all allies): This one replaces War Drum.

RECOMMENDED BRANDS:

+ Seal of Force/EX: Primarily Blunt, so get Blunt.

+ Seal of Wrath/Binding: If you're going to tank, tank it well!
XXX: Long Legged Girl (with the Short Dress On)/Tennis Ace (Female Exclusive, DLC)

Use your tennis balls to hurt your enemies in the balls. Testicles.

WEAPON: Tennis Rackets
BEST WEAPON: Indomitable Venus (Buffs Critical Hit chance with more enemies)
(Buy from Yokohama Dungeon Shop)
UNIQUE ARMOR: Superslam Suit (Chance of Attack buff at start of turn)
(Buy from Anaconda Sport Store for $130,000)

Continuing from the other DLC job, the girls got a sports job as well. And it's a really good one! It completely replaces Night Queen as a damage-dealer. It's also the kinda-equivalent of Desperado, being a job that has a Bullet-focus.

In Super Smash Bros, from the 4th game onwards, has included DLC characters that have been seen as overpowered compared to the launch cast. More so and infamously Cloud and Bayonetta in the 4th game. And Tennis Ace I consider to be even equivalent to that.

Resort Salon & Spa. Need Charisma Lvl.5 and $1600.

PROS:
  • Loads of Bullet skills
  • Combination of Fire and Electricity skills
  • Great overall stats
  • Great damage

CONS:
  • Worse Magic stat

First off, the damage! Literally only one Light damage skill. While the girls lack the Double-Damage skills the boys have, this job would be broken with those skills. It covers so many fields. AOE, single-target, it's got Fire and Electricity, and it's got some debuffs! It can ignore guards, making up for the lack of Grapples it has.

I really do think this is a great job for most of the girls, save for Saeko, due to her lacking some Attack. Chitose is a really good fit for this, with Seonhee coming in close second, if not for her being a better fit for Kunoichi.

Really, the only problem is the low Magic score. Which would be a problem...if not for the fact that this class learns no magic skills. So, yeah, it's one downside is completely negatable. Just don't give your Tennis Ace any magic skills and you'll be fine!

RECOMMENDED SKILLS:

+ Noisy Racket (Lower Attack and Magic of enemies in AOE): I love Chitose's little "Yay!".

+ Court Maintenance (Blunt Melee Line AOE, removes buffs): A good physical variant of the Housekeeper's skill.

+ Frenzied Forehead/Essence of Hurricane Smash (Fire Damage to AOE): A great damage AOE. Both of them!

RECOMMENDED BRANDS:

+ Seal of Steel/EX: It's primarily Bullet, more than Desperado actually!

+ Seal of Flames/Bolts/EX: Fire and Electricity damage? Then yes.

+ Seal of Concentration/EX/Vigor: It's a damage dealer, but without any real Critical Hit modifiers. Fix that. (The best weapon helps with the chance)
XXXI: True Love Travels on a Gravel Road (Recommended Party Setup)
Due to the fact that you have to work with two different parties, you don't have to keep everyone in a seperate job. You can have Kiryu AND Ichiban as both Samurai as you wish. In Premium Adventure, you will have the two parties together and then you should consider having them in separate jobs. I mean, unless you want to work on farming materials to make those ultimate weapons a second time. Your choice!

Like last time, these are the jobs that helped me the most and made the finale easier. You can freely ignore this.

+ Ichiban/HERO: Once again, Hero is designed to be a great Job, even more so once you build up Ichiban's Personality. He's the only one who can use this too, so might as well! Give him some Elemental, Bullet, and Blade skills to cover his lack of variety, as well as Relentless Dragon's Dance to amplify his damage.

+ Kiryu/DRAGON OF DOJIMA/ACTION STAR: He does so much physical damage with basic attacks once you max out his Awakening that's a bit ridiculous. Action Star comes in a close second, due to it having slightly more MP and the ability to use weapons. Then again, Kiryu does have nunchunku training.

+ Nanaba/HOST/HOMELESS GUY: The more things change, the more they stay the same, huh? Homeless Guy is a lot better than last time, to the point where it's main difference between it and Host is that Homeless Guy has less Attack, and Host has less Defense. Your choice mate.

+ Adachi/LINEBACKER/AQUANAUT: Realistically his best option. Tanking might not be the most useful around, but at least it's got more useful stuff than Detective. If you don't have the DLC, go Aqaunaut. Better than nothing.

+ Saeko/HOUSEMAID/GEODANCER: Need some damage? Go Housekeeper. Need some healing/debuffing? Go Geodancer. Go with what has the better weapons at the time.

+ Joongi/SAMURAI: Surprisingly a good fit for him. His higher agility does mean he can act a bit more, and his great attack works wonders with Samurai. Give him the Moonflower and all of the possible buffs will help out massively. It does take some time to unlock this given how far in he joins up, but trust me!

+ Zhao/CHEF/AQUANAUT: Second verse, same as the first! (Get him both Double Damage skills) Alternatively, if you get his unique armor, it pairs well with the ultimate Aquanaut weapon. Keep him at Full HP to really take advantage of his monster damage output.

+ Tomizawa/CABBIE: So much useful stuff. Practically the perfect sandwich.

+ Chitose/TENNIS ACE/KUNOICHI: Got the DLC? Tennis Ace. It literally has better stats (Save for Magic) over Heiress and comes with free Fire Resistance. No DLC? Kunoichi.

+ Seonhee/ASSASSIN/KUNOICHI: Assassin has the best Electrical-Physical attack and has so many useful things to boot. Being the strongest female fighter means she can work with Kunoichi's lower Attack and just do so much. Plus, her unique armor can give her an Agility buff and provides a more useful benefit than the ultimate armor of the Kunoichi class.
XXXII: End of the Road (Final Thoughts)
HOI!

That took forever! This has been several months of work and a lot of writing to do. Heck, if there's any Steam Archivists out there, can you tell me if this qualifies as one of the longest guides ever writen? Also, for the moderators looking over this for approval, I do so apologize for making you sit through this MASSIVE guide. Could have made this a novel!

Enough complaining, time to thank several people who helped in the creation of this guide.
