Introduction
Magirune 2 is the sequel of Magirune 1 with loads of upgrades and maps. With simple game mechanic and playstyle, along with multiple types of enemies, key items and secrets, you will enjoy this game to the fullest.
The time needed to fully achieve all the achievements is around 10 hours, but it also depend on how well you play.
I'd love to thanks the developers of this game for creating this and I had hours of fun exploring things. Hoping for more in the future.
P/s: This is the first time I wrote a guide for a game, any comments are welcome.
Game's basic and general tips
Gameplay
  • The basic concepts of the game remain unchanged from Magirune 1 with a load of updates, you get in the dungeon, kill enemies, level up, find key items to unlock more features and area to reach the end
  • Your aim each area should be survive, leveling up, collect the 2 skulls and get to the last floor for the important key items (mostly to unlock new area, differ from normal key items that can appear within the area).
  • There are 4 areas in total (5 if you count Magirune 1, too), each has 27 floors and their own type of enemies (except Temple has 9 floors for each)
    [*} About enemies, there are 20 each kinds distributed all around the area that will give you 10XP for first kill. Killed enemies will fade (but it's still there!) after you have earned the scroll of that specific one.

Control
  • Move around using arrow pad
  • Use "Z" to open menu (inventory, teleport, bestiary, options). You will use this button a lot
  • Use "X" to drink potion
  • Use 1, 2, 3 to select weapon (or "]", "[" to change to next and previous weapon)

Interactions
  • NPCs: you can interact with NPCs simply by facing toward him/her and press move forward again, events are automatically triggered if requirements are met. The only NPC that you will be interacting from time to time is the old lady next door.
  • Enemies: the same with NPCs except you will attack the monster instead. Each move equal one attack, and follow Newton's third law, you are also get attacked once. There are also burn and poison enemies, details will be mentioned in the Enemies section. After leaving a floor, all enemies re-spawn at there original spot.
  • Stairs: the one that you will interact with the most, used to go to up and down floors. One rule of thumb is that the position of one stair stay the same between 2 floor (if you took a stair at the upper right corner, the stair in the next floor will be in that position)
  • Doors: require 1 key to open each, there are 2 kinds of door that require Silver Key and Golden Key to open. As stated by the devs, there are 1-2 more keys than the amount of doors, so unless you got unlucky to have 2 keys behind a locked doors, there are adequate amount of keys.
  • Checkpoints (HM02): serve as anchor to teleport. You will find yourself teleporting more than you think for both healing and saving time.
  • Gaps: are detected with a square connecting 2 road that has 4 small pieces of wood. You can build a bridge to pass the gap using The Ladder
  • Switches, button and spikes: spike will block the way. Switches will change the behavior of linked spikes (there are switches that deactivates one spike while activating others); the position of switches remains when you go to different floor. Buttons share the same properties of switches except they need to be pressed down by boxes and will be reset if you leave.
  • Boxes: are push-able after you have acquired Ring of Strengh. They forms multiple Sokoban mini-games along the game that require players to solve
  • Barrels and rocks: are breakable after you have axes and pickaxes, respectively. barrels often contains potions and keys.
  • Teleport gates: are usable after you have acquired Teleport Gem, teleport you to the other gate within the same floor.
  • Scrolls: allow you to take notes of killed enemies (lower their density), total enemies and number of them killed. Scrolls are often in place that require effort to reach and is totally optimal, if you are taking note of killed enemies yourself.
  • Secret passages and footsteps: we have a lot of secret passages inside walls that is often hinted by black, tiny footsteps right at the entrance, mind your steps.
  • Hearts and Pets: Hearts increase your HP while Pet allow you to gain access to the Magirune 1 minigame after fully collecting all of them. Those are often hidden in Secret passages (with unique sound if you enter a floor with Pet).
    - Detectors: Robot area only (Mayor's house), rise the level of all enemies on the floor by one, reset when you leave
    - Mini-volcano: Arcane area only (Volcano), deal damage 1 tile around itself every 5 turns, you will see it grow in the last turn, calculate your move

General tips
  • XP rules: you only earn XP (10XP) after killing an enemy for the first time, the next time you attack it, you don't earn anything (1XP in easy). So it's wise to calculate your move beforehand as re-kill enemies will cost your HP for nothing.
  • Leveling up weapons: each weapon has their own level that will go up after the EXP bar is filled. 17 is the max level and there are slightly more total XP than the required XP.
  • Leave nothing behind (if possible): get the Scrolls, collect all the keys, kill all enemies before proceeding to the next area is recommended to avoid missing items and trade blows cost-effectively with the stronger enemies. Note that I didn't mention getting all the potions because of the trick below.
  • There is no place to refresh your HP like other game (save points, fountain,...), but you can have a pseudo one with the old lady next door. After giving her the water bottle from the Cave, she will give you 1 potion if you don't own any. So, in vital situation, you can just teleport back home to heal & get 1 free potion. Then you can try some new route, kill some un-killed enemies to level up a little and get back to the track if you are stuck & 1 potion is not enough.
  • And for potion using, most of the situation can be solve with going back and forth using the potion trick, so leaving potions behind to pick up later in dire situation (namely, the Temple (with toxic and invisible enemies) to avoid frustration is a good strategy. 5 potions should guarantee your path and 10+ potions might boost your confidence
  • Taking note of killed enemies pre-scroll: personally, I have a PowerPoint file running along the game that allow me to Print Screen and taking quick note of maps and eliminated enemies, calculating my next routes. I will include my completed ppt at the end of this guide.
Enemies
Basic information
There are 3 types of enemies that match with 3 weapon
- Normal - can only be killed with Sword
- Robot - can only be killed with Hammer
- Arcane - can only be killed with Scimitar

All enemies (except bosses) have 3 health, there are 4 types of result when you intend to kill an enemy base on the differences of level: unharmed (2+ levels more than you), 3-hit (1 level more than you), 2-hit (equal level) and insta-kill (1+ level less than you):
+ If an enemy is unharmed, its health bar will be gray, you need to level up your weapon until it change to red so you can attack them => 3-hit.
+ 3-hit: your attack deals 1 damage, which mean you will lose 1 HP killing one.
+ 2-hit: your attack deals 2 damage now, you only lost 0,5 HP killing one
+ Insta-kill: your attack insta-kill the target and negate all their effect (poison, burn)

Level distribution
There are 20 enemies in total each kind for 200xp and 195xp is required to level up. Enemies' level is range from 1 to 17 but without level 9. With this design, the second stage of each Area, you are forced to fight enemies that requires 3-hits for half of the XP bar every level.

Enemies' effect
  • The effect is always active unless you can insta-kill an enemies;
  • Poison: inflict you with poison that make you lose 0.5 HP every 10 steps, poison is cured only by drinking water;
    => It is recommended to hit poison enemies and back to the water when there is less than 10 steps between you and the fountain. If the destination is a bit larger and enemies come in chunk, it's more practical to move forward & use potion when needed until you have killed all of them. If there is no water in the same floor or next floor, it'd be wise to wait until you can insta-kill them.
  • Burn: inflict you with burn damage that make you lose 0.5 HP every time you pass though them.
    => Attacking a burn enemies will cost you 1 (2-hit) to 1.5 (3-hit) HP. Avoid passing though a burn enemies unless needed.
  • Invisible: only apply to enemies within the Temple's last 9 floors, you basically do not see them until you bump into them once (0.5HP or 1HP with Shadow 2). There is an invisible burn enemy (and no poison & invi, for the love of god).

Enemies with effect
Poison
  • Green Slime: Normal, level 4;
  • Snake: Normal, level 8;
  • JK08: Robot, level 4;
  • NK29: Robot, level 16;
Burn
  • Flower: Normal, level 16;
  • JA10: Robot, level 8;
  • Red Slime: Arcane, level 4;
  • Gin: Arcane, level 8;
  • Shadow 2: Arcane, level 15;
Invisible
  • Shadow 1: Arcane, level 14;
  • Shadow 2: Arcane, level 15;
  • Shadow 3: Arcane, level 15;
  • Shadow 4: Arcane, level 16;

Tips
In the early game it is recommended to only kill 3-hit enemies if they are standing between you and your target (switches, button, keys, path to next floors...) and avoid re-kill them at all. But in later levels, with its designs and with adequate potion, you will find yourself hunting both enemies to level up and be able to kill the next tier.
It is also advisable to keep a good amount of potion for NK29 and Shadows to avoid frustration. Other enemies is manageable, especially with the potion trick

Hard mode walkthrough (Part 1)
Prologue
To be honest, I think trying to get through hard mode without death is what make the game enjoyable and surprisingly it's not that hard (1/4 players got the achievement). The same can be said with the mystery of next floor/area and decision of paths to make to survive and proceed.
Following this walkthrough might ruin your experience in exploring the game, so use it at your own risk.

Rule
  • Only hitting 2-hits enemies and 3-hits enemies blocking your way is recommended until later in the game;
  • Re-kill should be avoid unless necessary or insta-kill. It's not a bad thing for first kill as you exchange 1HP for 10XP then instakill one lower level for 10XP, the price 0.5HP for 10XP stays the same. But with re-kill, HP is lost without any gain.
  • Make use of potion trick and leave potions behind for later usage, I recommend to keep a stash around 10 potions (you can leave those from the old lady and in Shed as stash).
  • Leave nothing behind if you can insta-kill.
  • After the first 17 floor of each area, your corresponding weapon should be level 9 & 40XP and level 13 & 60XP after the last floor (27th) of the area (I overlooked this for the Scimitar and had a hard time with the last few floor of the Temple hunting for first-kill)

Cave 1
F2-B7
Your first mission is to find and help your dad, who is on F2 and will fall down to B1.
At B1, reach for the upper stair first, hit the switch then take the bottom stair.
Get the ladder in B3 and go back to your father.
Proceed and farm until you can hit Green Slimes (leave those at B2 for later till you can insta-kill), hit the switch at B4 then proceed to get the 2 skulls, then get to B8.
B8-B17
The first few kills can be 3-hits to cover the poison of Green Slimes on Cave B2 and B6.
Proceed to get the Ring of Strenght through the upper stair, then get back for the middle stair, note that this is the only route down, and at next teleport back you should be able to insta-kill the mushrom or at least 2-hits it.
You should farm B10 and B11 to the next level, then Mushroom from B11 to B15. Then every enemies except Snake till you can 2-hits Snakes. Leave those Snakes that are far from water to last.
After being able to kill Scorpion, you should go back to Cave B2 to finish the water bottle quest and unlock the potion trick. After finish Cave B17 and got the Hammer, you should move to the next area: Mayor
Cave 2 (B18 and above only available after you have got the Teleport Gem at Volcano B17.

The Mayor
F2-B7
Head right and clear Mayor F1, F2 for the Special Key before going down. Use the Special Key on B1 to get to Mayor B2. Stay away from JK08 (the green enemy) for now or you will be poisoned.
Avoid detector, if you activated it, leave the floor and come back. Head to the upper stair to Mayor B3, head right, B4 and back to B3 for the switch, then aim for all the 3 switches (kill 2 MF63 for the last switch).
You can teleport back to farm and proceed B2 and head down the bottom path.
Head down to B7 and move back to B6, kill the two JK08, pick up the Axe and chop down barrels for the water.
After getting the Axe, you can head back to the Cave and search for barrels and open more hidden passage. When you're done, get back to finish the rest of enemies. Remember for deactivate switches on Mayor B5.
Find the skulls and proceed to B8.
B8-B17
Before you start, there is a hidden passage near the stair on Mayor B7 that has scroll and 3 enemies for 30XP.
Right stair should be taken first for the switch for the left path. Your aim will be the Pickaxe at Mayor B11 to pass the rock at Mayor B9. Proceed cautiously here for detector and walking around do cost health with unavoidable burn enemies. Watch your health, too, as attacking burn enemies will cost you an extra 0.5HP.
You can reach the Pickaxe with pushing and switching, after that, teleport back. Now we can break rocks, proceed to B9 and break the rock.
On floor Mayor B13, each try gonna cost 1 health by burn, the order of boxes getting in the narrow path on the left puzzle should be 1 - 3 - 2 (2U 1U 2R 1L 1U 1U 1U 3L 3L 3L 3U 3U 2U 2L 2L 2L 2U) nd 2 - 1 for right (1U 1D 2R 2R 2U 1U 1R 1R 1U). After getting to level 8, return to the path where you find the Pickaxe, a hidden paththat require Pickaxe here will lead to 1 Heart.
Beware of Burn, you might get killed if you miscalculate.
Finally, aim for the two skulls and finish the level at Mayor B17. You will get the third weapon - the Scimitar here for Arcane enemies. You should move to the next area: Volcano.

The Volcano
F2 (B8)-B17
One weird thing here is that the enemies appear in reverse order, and it's dark. There is a candle on the right path that help lighten it up. The Candle is guarded by Red Slimes and you need to find your way down to B8 to get stronger.
Head to the bottom stair and follow the only path to B7 where you can find your first enemies that can be attacked. Head down, left then back up to the (unofficial) stair to B8.
Follow the 2 paths for the skulls that can be used on B7 to unlock the official stair to B8.
Head down to B14 where you can't proceed. 2 paths are available here and the spikes order is corresponding to their location; 1 path is blocked by a Red Slime where we will visit later.
The switches accessed from the middle two rooms will unlock the middle path that should be visit first. Then return to kill the other two One Eye before teleporting back.
After getting to level 3, teleport back to Volcano F0 for the candle to push darkness away before going deeper. The right path on Volcano F0 is accessed with the Bridge and follow the only path.
After getting the candle, proceed to Volcano B17 to reach level 5. After this, you can return to F0 to explore.
F2-B7
The right path can be taken to farm a few enemies, after that, follow the "only path" back then to B4 (after farm a little more on B5 & B6), follow to the end and then farm at F2. Level 7 is needed for the skulls.
1st skull: B3, take top path to B2, with boxes labeled 1, 2, 3 from top to bottom: 1L 3L 2D 3D 2R 2R 1D 1D
2nd skull: B5, right-most stair, hit the switches, middle right stair
Proceed to Volcano B17 and get the Teleport Gem, the key to the next part of the journey.
Hard mode walkthrough (Part 2)
Preparation
Now you've got the Teleport Gem, you can choose either area to proceed for the 3 Medal that will unlock the Temple, order is not needed as the weapons are different.
Let's do some math there are 20 enemies each kind from level 1 to 8, result in 200*8 = 1600XP, minus 195*8 leave you at 40XP (at most & recommended). So 155XP is needed equal to 16 enemies. From now on, don't hesitate to kill 3-hits enemies (you might even want to farm them to proceed) but kill them wisely (the more you re-kill to get to your destination, the more HP wasted).
Personally, I found Cave 2 is the most difficult as I always require stash potion to proceed.

The Cave 2
Access Cave B18 from Cave B16. It is recommended to have a moderate amount of potion for the few one-way trips. Leave nothing kill-able behind.
Follow the only path to Cave B19, slide down for the bottom stair. Aim for the route to the top stair to B22, then head straight to B26, get to the other stair back to B25, gather potions and teleport back.
Note that if you run out of potion, potion trick doesn't work here unless your level is 11 and above (going to B24 cost you all HP at level 10). This is the first time your stash is needed if you are out of potion in every area; you can still go to Mayor 2 or Volcano 2 and come back with more potion, assuming that this is your first area).
After leveling up to 11, things are easier to play again. Kill whatever is left going down the second time, aim for the two skulls and leveling up.
The boss here at Cave B27 requires 6-hits, be prepared.
After finish the boss, you can gather the Medal.

The Mayor 2
Access Mayor B18 from Mayor B14. It is recommended to have a few potions in stash for poison enemies in later floors (1 potion from the old lady is manageable but with frustration and might cost your life if you can't reach the water.
There are more bridge than you think, so keep your eyes open.
Head right for the switch, then left (only path), proceed to Mayor B21.
Here you should aim for the Energy rod as you are killing those mobs anyway.
Left Puzzle: 2D 3R 3D 3D 3D 2D 1U 1U 1U
Right Puzzle is simply enough
Let's not proceed just yet, instead, come back to B20 and head down to the bottom stair (guarded bu 2 OH25). Go back (teleport cost you 3.5HP killing 7 mobs). You might want to grab some potion at B22 but B23 is not accessible yet. Follow 2 paths on 21, both side. There are hidden paths on B19 (left) and bridge on B20 (right).
For B23 and B24 Puzzle (solvable after level 11 and 12), make sure you have sufficient potion.
B23: 1 to 6 boxes: left to right and top to bottom: 5D 5D 5D 5D 5L 5L 5L 4R 4D 4D 4D 4L 6R 6D 6D 6D 6R 4L 4L 5R 5R 3D 3D 3D 3D 3D 3R 2D 2R 2D 2D 2D 2D 2D 2D 1D 1R 1R 1D 1D 1D 1D 5R 5R
B24: find the correct button, you don't have to kill all robot if you don't have enough potion, but have at least 4 HP + level 12 when the puzzle is solved
Make sure both switches on B23 and B24 is deactivated, back to B22 where there are 2 paths down. Go down each path then teleport back.
Kill whatever is left going down the second time, aim for the two skulls and leveling up.
The boss here at Mayor B27 requires 6-hits, be prepared.
After finish the boss, you can gather the Medal.

The Volcano 2
Access Volcano B18 from Mayor B15. It is recommended to have a few potions in stash for burn. You might also want to calculate steps.
Head left first, hit the switch at B19, then all the way to B21 when you can't proceed anymore. Teleport back and head right to B21 where you should be at level 10 when you arrive. Proceed to B23 then teleport back when you meet the wall. Farm Snail till level 11 and get to B22, take the left path 1st for the switch, then right for the skull.
Farm Moon till level 12 so you can finally kill plug, prepare around 5 potions and get the last skull and fight the boss here.
Kill whatever is left going down the second time, aim for the two skulls and leveling up.
The boss here at Volcano B27 requires 6-hits, be prepared. The teleport gate goes in order and you should remember which leads to which to reduce the burn damage you get during the process, then teleport back.
After finish the boss, you can gather the Medal.
Hard mode walkthrough (Part 3)
Misc
Before going to the Temple, you should go to the Scientist's house to get The Detector that will help you find secret passages easily.
Your weapons should be maxed out from those previous areas (Level 13 + 60XP) and you own a stash of at least 10 potions.

The Temple
Welcome to the last area where you will find mixed type of enemies: Normal at F1-B8, Robot at B9-B17, Arcane at B18-B26 and mixed at B27.
F2-B7
Take the right stair and head down to Temple B4 where you can't proceed anymore, killing all crows on the way. Then teleport back and go up to clear Temple F2, your weapon should be around Level 14 + 110XP. Dive again to Temple B5 and go up to Temple B4 with the stair guarded by a Tiger, proceed to B3 and get the 1st skull (with sufficient amount of potions).
Next destination is Temple B7 on side stair where you can go in and proceed upward. The 2nd skull require level 16 to get and switch on the left of B5 be deactivated (access from B7).
The rest is easy & straight-forward. After getting the 2nd skull, proceed to Temple B8.
Temple F2's guide is in the Pet section
B8-B17
We wil face the Mayor (boss) on this stage, basically, we remove all the orbs then attack him. There are 4 stairs on different level that lead to B10 that can be done separately.
Take the right stair on B9 first for switches then the left stair, clear enemies that are on the way up to B13 (leave the 2 right-most YN23 that are close to the spikes on B12, we will kill them when we take the left stair).
Temple B13: take the 2 stairs at the two corners for switches before going for the middle to B15.
Temple B15: heal yourself to full and bring at least 5 potions for this trip (I ended up with the same amount of potions I brought, but picked up a load of it along the way. On my 1st try, I brought lesser, ran out of potion and had to find a way to survive). Clear the right-side first, drink water, then go straight to clear the left side and go downstair (there is water on B16).
Temple B16: slide and hit all of them except the bottom left corner. Notice the boot and proceed down to B17.
Temple B17: clear the floor but don't leave yet, there is secret switched and way up for the Boot. Explore and go up for the Boot. After this, get to B16 and kill the last NK29, get cured then go for the last orb.
The boss won't budge unless you are level 17, so farm all YQ22 to get there. Note that Temple B8 has a lot of those. Mind your HP.
The Mayor take 6 hits to kill and will unlock the 2 skulls after death. Proceed to B18.
B8-B17
It is highly recommended to level up your Arcane weapon to full (level 13 + 60XP) before proceed as there is path you must follow, and lower level enemies are just enough for you to level up to kill the next enemies (namely, Temple B21).
You might find this weird at first, but this area is just like the Volcano, so, proceed down to B27.
The most unique thing about this area is that your enemies are invisible and will only show up if you bump into them once (then they stay visible). If you love exploring, my advise is to use potion trick repeatedly and proceed recklessly (but don't die). Dive into any corner, bump every enemy to farm your way up (and memorize those that you couldn't kill yet to farm later). If you just want to earn the achievement, the detailed map is provided at the end of the guide.
Take the right path upstair first till you can't proceed anymore (B23, hit the switch on B26), return to B27 and take the left path for the other switch on B26 and go to the bottom right corner for the switch on B25.
Proceed up to B24, hit the switch then B23 on the left path. Going between B23 and B24 to be able to flip the last switch on the right that open up the path to B22 at the bottom left corner.
B21 is the next place you want to find your potion stash, as you are required to farm all the Shadow 2 (B25 and below) to level up and this level doesn't have potion along the way. Other than that, it's just a normal floor with switches.
Temple B20: push your way to the left stair, go up, clear B19 then back and aim for the bottom right stair. The last floor (B18) is a pet floor. Farm Shadow 3 from B22 and below till you reach level 16, then Shadow 4 till level 17.
After getting all 3 weapons to level 17, proceed to the last floor (Temple B27) and fight the 3 blocks. The game will be completed after you get the crystal.
Congratulation! You have fought your way till the end.
This is also the end of the walkthrough, thanks for reading and I'd love to hear your comments. Good luck!
Pet
There are 12 pets in the game spread in 4 areas (3 each) that might require effort and HP to get. Some of them is a mini Sokoban game.
The guide for Sokoban pushing direction (U for Up, D for Down, L for Left, R for Right) is provided after the box number as 1 push. For example: 1U 1L 2U = push box 1 Up 1 square, then Left 1 square, move to box 2 and push Up 1 square.

Note that there will be sound when you enter a floor with a pet in it.

There is no puzzle, just doors. Lots of doors. This floor serve as key-check and you will be left with 1 or 2 keys of each type ONLY IF you have collect all the keys.
Note: stop and count first, if your keys is lower than the number of doors in this level, it is recommended to keep those keys in case of there are 2 keys behind a door (rare, but it does exists)
Magirune 1

Intro
This one is the complete game of Magirune 1 implemented int Magirune 2. After collecting all 12 pets, you will be given a crowbar that can be used to unlock the cave near the Mayor's house to gain access to it.
If you have already played Magirune 1 recently, I guess it's not gonna be a big deal. But if you had played it a long time ago (just like me), it's gonna take a few tries to finish.
You will unlock this minigame at near the end of the game where hitting 3-hit enemies is common, keys are plenty and your play style become less careful. So, revert back to your early game state and proceed carefully.

First thing to say, both potion and key are distributed strategically. You may fight yourself run out of either or both and that will mess your whole try. Planning your next route to gain the most of process or items as teleporting will cost you health to get back to the destination re-killing enemies, and potions are not plenty. Your aim should shift from leveling up to surviving and proceed to the highest level after reaching the third layer. After acquiring the pickaxe, the game becomes easy.

Tips
  • The more health you have, the more HP the potion recover, so restrain using potion to full HP but only to survive, you will end up with less potion and HP than you think
  • Torches to be lit is at floor: F2, F5, F6, F12, F13, F20, F26, F28, F37, F44
  • Pickaxe: F45 (allow you to break breakable walls)
  • Boots: B5 (get: access from B6, allow you to walk on ice)
  • Sword: F21 (after lit all the torches, allow you to insta-kill all enemies upon entering the floor and gain 1XP each

Walkthrough
RULE:
  • Only use potion when your heal is 0.5-1 HP, kill you enemy before moving to the next one.
  • I will provide XP and potion with my actual play as reference
  • Use potions and keys wisely, you might see at the end of my actual play (which still have a few things to optimize), I ended up with 3.5 HP and no potion left and I think at most it's gonna be 3HP more than me.

STAGE I
From the starting floor, run up to F6, killing all the rats along the way then go back down to hit the switch (LV1 - 130xp).
Going up again to F12 only killing rats, SKIP F7, you're gonna need those 2 keys. Open the door on F11 to kill 2 rats, go up for 1 potion then teleport back (LV1 - 160xp)
Clear F3 except the spider (rat door 1st) & go up again, now we hunt bat only.
Take the left stair on F5 and finish those bats, go down to F4 for the key and potion stash, teleport back (LV2 - 60xp)
Now get to F11, you can open 1 gate (only ONE) at F7 for 1 rat. Make your way to the upper left corner and kill 1 spider (remember which you killed). In F10, open the door but only kill bats. Gather the potion in F9 and you're level 3 now. DO NOT TELEPORT, get down to slap the 2 spiders in F8 then go up again for the spider in F10, hit the switch, back to F11 and kill the spider you didn't kill (LV3 - 40XP)
Get the keys and potion from the switch you have just deactivated on F10, then get to F13 and kill 4 spiders there for keys then teleport back (LV3 - 80XP)
Finish every spider you encounter and loot everything till F7 (LV3 - 150XP), dive inside and leave nothing but 1 doors (go back after you kill the last enemy). Prioritize rat and bat (LV4 - 30XP)
Now go up an finish the level by collecting 2 skulls. You will end up at LV5 - 20XP with 18/20 slimes killed.

STAGE II
Note: Use your keys wisely
Take the right stair at F15 and get the 3 goblins and 4 silver keys, TELEPORT BACK TO STAGE II and go down to finish the 2 slimes guarding the heart at F11 (LV5 - 70XP)
Go up again, take the left stair, go all the way to F22 killing every goblin without re-kill, take 2 free silver keys by pushing boxes there, continue going up killing goblin till F25 (LV6 - 20XP)
Open the door, kill the 2 orcs, take the key and go downstairs for the switch. Go down to F20, kill the orcs on top and hit the switch, go down the stair they guard, hit the switch then up. DO NOT HIT the orc again but leave to the left. Get down to F18 first, kill the remaining goblin there and up to F19, clear the floor and teleport back to STAGE II. Now kill all the orcs while moving up to F22 (LV7 - 10-20XP).
Note: skip the silver door on F21 for later.
By pushing the bottom left box up, you only leave 1 silver key and will be back later when you can insta-kill Archer, go to floor 26 for the box puzzle and get 1 heart, then F27 for potion behind Achers. Go back to F19 and then get down to get the skull (LV8 - 0-10XP)
Now you will find yourself in a different situation: enemies from Troll to above is 3-hits while there is not enough mobs to level up, you'll have to kill 8 trolls before being able to 2-hits them, so hunt for the rest of Orc and Archer, if you need Keys, go to F28. Clear F25 and F24 switches, then go to F23 with adequate (3+) potions (LV8 - 70-100XP)
Push forward to F23, this is an one-way trip that will cost you lots of health if you mess it up. After clearing the troll, push 2 side boxes up then middle box aside, or else you will have to fight 3 trolls again. Grab the skull and teleport back (LV8 - 180-190XP or LV9)
Kill the rest of the trolls and get to STAGE III. (LV9 - 80XP, 3 potions, 5 silver keys)

STAGE III
Note: a lot of ONE WAY ROUTE
Kill all 3 skeletons on F30 and get to the upper right stair (the left one is a dead-end that will cost you 2 HP for teleport), kill all the Skeleton along the way to F34, when you reach LV10, kill the Priest, too. Go back down to some floor where you can still get back upstairs without costing health (namely, F31), go up to F37, kill all Skeleton but don't go downstairs, go to F38 until you face a Priest, don't kill him (LV10 - 130XP)
Go back to F34 (cost of re-kill: 1HP) and kill the bottom left spot, get down, grab the potion and teleport back (LV10 - 170XP)
(cost of re-kill: 0.5HP) Grab the 3 potions at F30, go up the left stair and kill vampires up to F37, get downstairs for the switch and scroll, then proceed to get the skull in F35, teleport (LV11 - 160XP) (after I test again, an optimal number of vampires to leave behind is 4 for the next teleport, but it's ok to wipe them all)
Now go up all the way to F41 to finish all the remaining Priests to reach level 12. Now we aim for the next skull with 2 switches at F40. For each switch, teleport back to STAGE III and make your way back, DO NOT KILL any Skull that is not in your way (F36, F39), they cost 1HP each and you won't be able to reach the next level in time.
By the time I got the skull, I'm at LV12 - 140XP with 2 potions left and 3.5 HP.
For the final push, there will be 7 skull ahead, I ended up with 0 potions and 3.5 HP passing those, so I think there is not many health to spare if you make mistakes.
If you remember to lit all the torches, the last one should be found on F44 right before getting the pickaxe.
That's the hard part of the game, with the Pickaxe and Sword, you can roam freely to level up and finish the rest of Magirune 1

STAGE IV
Location of the next 4 Skulls:
  • F10 (hidden, access from F11)
  • F16 (hidden, access from F17)
  • F38 (hidden, access from F39)
  • B8 (after beatuing the boss Flame that take 6 hits)
Hiddens stuffs:
  • Heart: F9, F19, F32, F42 (require boot)
  • Way down: F3
Map
This is the map I created myself by print-screening the game and paste into the MS PowerPoint to take note of killed enemies and path as I played.
Some map might not clear and not all hidden path are shown (yeah, I did pass a bunch of Volcano level WITHOUT the candle, even the Pet puzzle in darkness until later I realize that the Candle can be earned very soon).
