Unicorn Overlord

解説
To many, Unicorn Overlord was merely yet another excellent video game with god-tier art released on March 8th, 2024. However, those who ordered the physical iteration of the Monarch Edition got additional goodies - and among other awesome stuff like the artbook and soundtrack, they also found a very real, fully-fledged card game.

Those of us who bought the Monarch Edition wanted to ensure this card game was available for the rest of the world to play, so two of us thus far have gotten together to offer it to you here.

What Is This Game?
It is a deckbuilding game about developing military might. To accrue your Might for each round, largely you deploy Unit cards (which have Power values on them that directly translate to Might) and other cards that support your Units either through direct increases to their Power and/or by matching the Combatant Type Icons on cards you've already got on your mat. At the end of each round, Critical Cards can contribute to Might, and the person who has the most Might earns that round's Renown, the game's primary yardstick for determining who's actually winning overall.

Disclaimers and Ownership
* This card game was originally made by Vanillaware, and exists IRL as a companion to the video game's physical Monarch Edition. They own all of the artwork on the actual cards, front and back. (Vanillaware has a storied history of making games with great artwork - you may be familiar with them from Odin Sphere, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, and Dragon's Crown.)
* While I'm excellent at text work, I cannot draw - so when it comes to the mats, I own none of the actual artwork (none of the card frames, banners, name plates, nothing). I'm just good at cobbling together stuff I find when searching the internet.
* As of March 11th, 2024, the vast majority of the card images were swapped out for actual scans done by Jod; they now get the lion's share of the credit for the imaging.

In the event of things going awry, where are the assets stored?
Most of the images are on Jod's Steam cloud. At this point, all that's still attached to my Git or Steam are the main card back, the Might/Choice Markers, and the First Player Marker.

Will you respond to posts? How can I contact you if I find something amiss?
Absolutely! I'm a Twitch streamer and very friendly. I address what I can, though I'm prone to forgetting to even check stuff sometimes. Alternately, I really only use Discord; I'm on the official Tabletop Simulator server if you need to ensure something gets taken care of sooner rather than later.

Thanks for a thousand subs. When it comes to appreciation for the stuff I manage to cobble together and put out there for the world to consume, you have no idea how much this means to me. I wish my StepMania stepartistry could find even 5% of the overall proliferation this workshop entry has evidently managed to garner; these days it makes me emotional to see anything that I put together actually get any meaningful appreciation. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

JayPeg:
* If you're just looking for general permission, sure, you can print them.
* If you're talking about acquiring the images, that's easily done from the Custom option in the right-click menu.

Do you have the art of those mats I feel this game benifits greatly from one and id consider making one for my physical game

Azüre:
I don't know how exactly that happened, but you're right, so I made sure "Hands" was un-ticked for all mats. You're credited in the changelog for bringing it to my attention. Thanks!

quick note: might want to make it default that the boards all have "hands" ticked off so that they can't accidentally be drawn by players

Davide-Romoli:
The person who did the scans is Jod, and unlike my pictures, which I'd put on my GitHub page, Jod chose to exclusively use the Steam Cloud for image hosting, so there currently isn't any single link where you can find 100% of the images (especially since the card backs seen in the mod are still hosted by me; the main back is my original picture, as I felt it was better-colorized, and the Critical back is a slightly recolored version of Jod's scan). Jod may, however, feel free to provide you a link, should they feel like putting them on, for example, G-Drive or something.
