Maps
So far there are only two maps in the game: The ocean map and the swamp map. While they both are very similar, there are a few differences.

1. Themes: The ocean map is themed after an ocean and the swamp map is themed after a swamp (obviously). By this I mean that the sprites of the maps are based around their respective themes.

2. The enemies: The enemies are obviously different as well, but aside from looking different, there are few differences.

3. Swarm behaviors: occasionally, a school of fish will spawn at the edge of the player's screen and move towards the shrimp. They move in a straight line towards where you were when they spawned in so avoiding them is relatively easy, however the swarms act slightly different on each map. One key difference is the formation of the swarm that moves towards the shrimp, on the ocean map it's a group of fish that move towards your position in the general shape of a blob/square. On the swamp map the swarms are single straight lines of fish that can be in a multitude of orientations. Another noticeable key difference is that on the ocean map the swarms are the weakest enemies within said map which can easily be oneshotted while the swarms from the swamp are made up of higher level enemies.
Enemies
In the game there are two main types of enemies: Bosses and the basic swarming enemies. Initially few and weak enemies spawn in but over time more and stronger enemies spawn in and may easily overwhelm you. All enemies in this game (at the time of this being written) essentially act exactly the same, they are constantly aware of your location and slowly move towards you to deal contact damage. The main differences between each enemy are: how big they are, the amount of health they have, what they look like, the amount of mp dropped, how much damage they deal, and how much xp they drop. Aside from that there is virtually no difference.

Bosses: In the game about every 2-3 minutes the music changes and a boss spawns in at the edge of your screen. You will know it's a boss due to its appearance making it stand out from the enemies being spawned in at that moment in time, the red highlight it has, and the health bar underneath it. They have more health and deal more damage than most enemies so keeping your distance from it would be preferable. When they finally do die they will drop an oyster shell that gives you a random upgrade when you pick it up.
Upgrades
Throughout the game there are a variety of upgrades that can be obtained with there being two ways to obtain them: Leveling up or collecting an oyster shell from a boss killed.

Leveling up: To level up your shrimp will have to collect some crystals that enemies drop when killed and get enough xp from them. The amount of xp earned depends on the type of crystal collected which depends on the type of enemy killed with higher level enemies dropping bigger crystals which give more xp. When you level up, you have three upgrades that you can choose from. Each one has a name, and icon, and a simple description. The three upgrades that you can choose from are randomized and you can only choose one of them to keep with you each time that you level up. If you already have an upgrade and choose it again, then said upgrade improves in quality and efficiency.

Upgrades: The meat and potatoes of this section, upgrades are the only way possible to win the game with there being a large variety of them, many of them being used for support while others for offense.

Support upgrades: These are upgrades that help the shrimp survive in ways that don't involve directly harming opponents.
The vitality upgrade: The vitality upgrade increases the amount of max health you have. It should be noted that when you take it you are not healed and will have to wait for it to regenerate.

The guard upgrade: It increases your defense and decreases the amount of damage that you take, self explanatory.

The rush upgrade: It increases the amount of invis frames that someone has when taking damage.

The hasty upgrade: The hasty upgrade just increases your overall movement speed, it's as shrimple as that.

The mend upgrade: You regenerate hp faster than previously.

The reclaim upgrade: The amount of xp gained is increased by a small amount.

The tempo upgrade: It decreases the cooldown for your weapons letting them be used quicker.

The breeze upgrade: Increases how fast projectiles your shrimp shoot go.

The salvage upgrade: Increases the amount of mp that someone gets.

The field upgrade: It increases your pick up radius which lets you collect mp and xp from further away.

The mo' arms upgrade: Increases the amount of projectiles of all projectile based weapons that are shot.

Offensive upgrades: These are upgrades that directly help the shrimp in attacking and killing enemies.
The insult upgrade: This upgrade increases your overall damage.

The plastic upgrade: Has a projectile that bounces around the screen and pierces through enemies, dealing damage to the enemies it touches in the process.

The oil leak upgrade: creates a radius around the shrimp that deals damage to enemies that enter it.

Shcrump: Summons every once in a while a fellow shrimp that acts as a boomerang and pierces through enemies while dealing damage.

The anchor upgrade: Launches an anchor towards the nearest enemy occasionally, dealing damage, knockback, and piercing through enemies.

The kelp upgrade: Summons a piece of kelp that orbits around the shrimp, dealing damage to enemies that come into contact with it and planting down occasionally some kelp that deals any enemy that touches it.

The bubble upgrade: A bubble is shot out of the shrimp every few seconds and bounces when hitting enemies, dealing damage.

The salmon upgrade: A salmon occasionally falls from the sky on top of a random enemy, dealing a large amount of damage to any enemies nearby.

The wet stick upgrade: a stick is shot out of the shrimp in the direction that it is going, piercing through enemies and dealing damage.

The antenna upgrade: The upgrade that the shrimp starts off with, it lets the shrimp attack with a short range "slap".

The sea spike upgrade: A short range piece of kelp shoots out of you every few seconds towards the nearest enemy.

The fish hook upgrade: Every few seconds a fish hook shoots out of the player that deals damage when it hits an enemy.

The pebble upgrade: Every few seconds a pebble is shot at a random enemy, dealing damage.
Items
In Shrimp.io you can earn obtain a variety of items, all from killing enemies or bosses. There are two main categories for items: xp and mp.

XP: xp is represented in crystals (I think) that the enemies drop. They come in a total of 3 tiers with each tier giving a certain amount of xp to the player when picked up.

Cyan crystal: Small cyan crystals that give a small amount of xp when picked up.

Blue crystal: Medium sized blue crystals that give a medium amount of xp.

Red crystal: Large red crystals that give a large amount of xp, the highest amount of xp that a crystal gives.

MP: Mp is a currency that can be used outside of matches in the shop and is also dropped by enemies when killed. It is represented with partially oxidized copper (i think).

Small copper: A small piece of copper which gives little mp.

Medium copper: A medium piece of partially oxidized copper that gives a medium amount of mp.

Large copper: A big chunk of partially oxidized copper that gives the highest amount of mp.
Shop
When not in a match and while in the selection screen for each map, the shop is available. Mp that had been collected within matches can be used to buy temporary upgrades for the shrimp, these upgrades include: Extra speed, max health, damage, and resistance
Winning
The main goal of Shrimp.io is to survive up to around 15 minutes. To do so upgrading your shrimp is required. In this section I will be explaining a certain build of upgrades that I used to win multiple times as well as some techniques used.

When first starting, there will only be low level enemies, they each deal only 1 damage so getting hit by them is not an issue. It is important to not underestimate them and let them kill you however (although that would be very hard to do and deliberate). Very early game getting the oil leak upgrade is very helpful since it causes enemies early in the run to die as soon as approaching you, eventually this upgrade becomes essentially obsolete but when used early in the run it can make xp collecting very easy. Some other upgrades to look for throughout the run are: The anchor, plastic, bubble, mo' arms, tempo, and bubble. The anchor is definitely an S tier item and is very important when trying to win. Due to it pushing back enemies, piercing, and dealing heavy damage, it is very important especially late game when one can easily be overwhelmed with very high level enemies. If upgraded a lot and if used with multiple tempo and mo' arms upgrades, it would essentially make you untouchable and allow you to win without moving due to the sheer amount of anchors being launched at whatever enemy ends up being the closest. Since it's highly, highly unlikely that you would get only tempos, mo' arms anchors in a run, other projectile based upgrades are welcome. The main point of this build is to not let anything be able to hurt you in the first place. While other upgrades like the mend upgrades are pretty good, this build does not have the intention of letting you get hit in the first place. Due to the mo' arms upgrade in this build, it wouldn't only affect how many anchors are thrown but rather any projectiles thrown, such as the rock, fish hook, wet stick, bubble, pebble, and plastic upgrades. It should be noted that salmon, shcrump, and sea spike upgrades are NOT considered projectiles so the amount used would not increase no matter how many mo' arms are used. When you finally reach 15 minutes, a "you win" screen will pop up. That is essentially the entire game currently although I would love to see more things added to it eventually such as more maps, enemies that are actually unique, and etc.

First guide anyone's made. Hell yeah! love it. Kind of a question/comment,but in reference to the oyster shell that you pick up. I have pick up one once that gave me 3 pearls instead of 1 I don't know if it was a bug or a rare drop. I guess what my question is have you ran into that same oyster shell or do you know anything about the 3 pearl oyster shell? Figured i'd say something.
