Intro
Hello and welcome to a complete idiot's guide to Windowkill! This only covers enemies as managing the window stuff is more fun to learn through experience as each different character. Images to be added soon (TM) and content will be updated as torcado adds more stuff.
Enemies
deep breath
Windowkill has a lot of enemies, so here goes:

Triangle
Triangular. Slowly chases the player. Speed slightly increases with distance. Usually spawn in bunches.
Use splash against them.

Circle
Circular. Moves in swift dashes.
Usually just an annoyance.

Octagon
Octagonal. Slides across the wall and fires bullets. Takes damage if the wall is hit.
Not a threat solo, but try to take them out if more spawn. As Zephyr, try to hit the wall, not them. As Blip, they are the biggest early game threat due to projectiles and should be taken out immediately

Arrow
Dart-shaped. Slides across the wall, periodically turning into a laser and firing across to the other wall.
They are a massive problem if you let them pile up, take them out as they come.

Blocker
Heptagonal. Sturdy, but doesn't move. Dragged along by the shrinking border.
Just take them out if they stack up.

Thief
A line with a pouch that expands as it eats. Wanders and collects any coins it may move over.
If you are good enough to survive without major upgrades for a while, leave them be and let them eat until you get some Wealth or Multiply, then kill them off to get a return on investment.

Tunneler
8-pointed. Digs as a visible circle until jumping out of the ground and shooting 4 limited range bullets.
Again, the threat comes when they gang up on you. Nyx's Halt should not be used in such a situation if you actually want to kill them. Use piercing.

Blob
Amorphous. Has three sizes, slowly chases the player and splits when killed.
These can be annoying, if they're a problem get rid of them early. Use Torrent or Echo-torrent if possible.

Dasher
Square. Dashes repeatedly, taking breaks in between.
Treat them like more advanced versions of the old triangle and circle.

Balloon
Balloon-shaped. Still other than knockback it takes from shots.
I genuinely don't know what it does.

Mimic
Resembles the star bosses drop, but with an eye. These "enemies" just run away, they can't hurt you.
I don't know what triggers them to appear, but I think you can pick them up for a star.
Spiker
Spiker is a simple boss that shoots rings of 8 projectiles and occasional lasers. It, like all bosses, has its own window. When it loses 20% of its HP, it will teleport around the screen. Its attack rate will increase as its health drops.

Strategies:
  • Epsilon: Stay away and shoot the boss. On repeat attempts, put Drain on top of it and let that deal some extra damage.
  • Bastion: Stay away and shoot the boss. On repeat attempts, just use Torrent and obliterate.
  • Nyx: Try to get multishot before this fight as otherwise you will suffer essentially having to melee it.
  • Zephyr: You're mostly safe as long as you can melee the bullets to death.
  • Smiley: Business as usual with this character, just try to stay close enough for your cursors not to get distracted.
  • Mebo: Keep yourself out of the lasers if at all possible as they can pop all of you at once. Wall punch and spread damage are very important.
Wyrm
This boss is basically the Eater of Worlds from Terraria. It has its own window for each segment, and wanders around the screen while firing projectiles from each segment. The boss will split when one of its body segments is defeated, as well as the remaining segments' fire rates becoming faster.

Strategies:
  • Epsilon: Stay away and shoot the boss. Try to kill any split segments if they appear.
  • Bastion: Torrents will kill it, but try to align them with its body.
  • Nyx: Halt.
  • Zephyr: Again, you're mostly safe as long as you can melee the bullets to death.
  • Smiley: Try to get splash damage for this.
  • Mebo: Propagate and focus fire the head segment.
Slime Satan
Yeah, I hate this boss. It takes knockback from your shots, leaves an acid trail as it travels, and periodically shoots bursts of four acid shots... to anywhere on screen. The acid periodically damages you as long as you're on it, and the game mocks you with an achievement for dying to acid damage!. On death it splits into three slimers that act the same, but are smaller and only shoot two acid shots. Each of these split again for a total of nine small slimes, each of which launches one acid shot.

This boss will quickly cover your screen in acid and is extremely annoying if not killed fast or if another boss spawns because you're late in endless or you took too long.

Strategies:
  • Epsilon: Stay the heck away from this vile entity.
  • Bastion: Get piercing, Torrent the little slimes away.
  • Nyx: Halt.
  • Zephyr: This is hell.
  • Smiley: Try to get more cursors and more splash here.
  • Mebo: Juggle the boss(es) against the edge of the screen.
Smiley
Smiley is a very unique boss as he is the only boss who cannot be shot. To damage him you must instead click his window's X button while his shield is down for a total of three rounds, where he gets progressively more aggressive as you go. He has the following attacks:

  • Lowers his shield and holds two sides of the window in place to stop them from being expanded.
  • Punches sides of the window with such force the window bounds in and the player will be damaged if in the area of the impact.
  • Lowers his shield and hands orbit the window while firing projectiles and bursts. Sometimes he will mix this with punches.

This boss is actually fun to fight so if you don't see yourself getting overwhelmed feel free to ignore him until the next boss shows up.

Won't list strategies since the only differences when it comes to fighting are non-damaging perks.
Orb Array
This boss consists of five orbs and a pointer. The pointer clicks and drags then screenshots an area to deal damage, while the orbs spawn lasers between each other periodically. The orbs move towards the center when one is killed. When only one orb remains, it will form a laser connection to the pointer. The pointer cannot take damage and dies when the orbs die.
Miasma
This boss was added after the original writing of the guide, apologies if the quality does not match.
Miasma only spawns in the late-game when bosses start spawning in groups. It spawns as an infected triangle, but when this dies it turns into its full form of a bunch of viruses near the edge of the screen. If you have Peer or Drain, it will spawn clinging to them too.

This boss has two attacks: Shooting out small virus balls from its virus bodies, and creating fog all over the screen that then becomes damaging. The only safe spot for the second attack is one small circle. Thankfully, it clears out slime nearby. However, it can infect other enemies and bosses, who become significantly tougher.

Infected Spikers and Orb Arrays are almost always the main threat, as the former floods the screen with bullets and lasers, thus complicating movement, and the latter will chase you down with a barrage of snaps. Slimes and Smileys are the next biggest threat level as the former is still Slime Satan despite receiving only minor buffs and the latter can also shoot a lot of projectiles or mess with your window. Wyrms can also be a pain as they gain a rapid-fire attack.

  • Epsilon: Stay near the center of the screen for its fog attack.
  • Bastion: Torrent doesn't work on it.
  • Nyx: Halt, kill the infected boss, then hunt it down and kill it.
  • Zephyr: Good luck.
  • Smiley: Your cursors can chase them down.
  • Mebo: Clean your own window first. Kill spawned enemies so that you can stay in the safe circle.
Secret
*inhale*
Beware of spoilers.

Accessing the secret
To access the secret...

  • Buy all perks.
  • Find the marks for each aid window. Peer's eye and Drain's indent point towards them. You'll know you have them when the windows are renamed to 'peer!' and 'drain!'.
  • Peer should now appear different with yellow lines around it. Use your right click ability while on it. This doesn't work with the secret character so you can't fight him with it.

A question mark will then appear. Click it. You will gain the orb weapon. Make sure to have high HP, then charge up a shot until flashing and release it.

The secret itself
You will break out of the window and lose all access to the shop. Two white hands followed by a white Smiley will come out of the window, shrink it, and start the fight by launching it at you. The boss can also use this at any point in the fight.
This is a list of his attacks, he seems to throw them out completely randomly:

  • Fires orbs from his head while firing small and big lasers from hands.
  • Pounds you with his fists.
  • Spawns purple circle streams that home in on you and their trails will linger.
  • Fires projectile bursts from both hands.
  • Fires small lasers from hands while charging up two giant lasers from his head.

Strategies
His circle stream attack is the worst, with all the lingering circles. I recommend Zephyr for your first fight against this boss so that you have a recourse when they corner you instead of having no choice but to be violently violated at high velocity.

Remember that there is always the cheese strat of turning down the window size with fake windows, which trivializes parts like the aforementioned circle attack.

When he is grey, such as after getting hit or while tossing the window at you, he can't be hurt. In the latter case, you have to wait for the window to stop moving even if the movement is from you and not him.

The only difference between characters here is right click ability and ease of access to health increases, as you're going to be using the orb attack anyways.

  • Epsilon: Not worth using.
  • Bastion: Not worth using.
  • Nyx: There is a cheese, use Halt and break the window just as it starts clearing up and the boss will be slowed.
  • Zephyr: Use your Endure dash to get out of sticky situations like the vine attack or phase 3's bullet spam.
  • Smiley: Use Detach at just before breaking the window and look around for a secret. There is no other point to fighting this guy with smiley.
  • Mebo: Definitely the best character against this boss. Make sure to have as many +1 mebo upgrades as possible, then use level 3 Propagate before breaking the window. You can charge up shots to deflect the window into him.
Modded stuff
From here on I will take the opportunity to give some info on modded stuff as 3.2.0 came out after I nearly finished the guide. Currently covered:

Players:
  • Honey
  • Bubly

Enemies:
  • Spider
  • Bullet Spider

Bosses
  • Starco
Modded Enemies
Spider & Bullet Spider
Squarish with four legs that stretch. Crawl towards you and eventually turn into an invincible sawblade. This sawblade form lasts for a while and takes knockback instead of damage. Bullet Spiders are red and shoot bullets when hitting the wall.
Target them only in their spider form, and try to move their sawblade form around to keep it away from the walls for Bullet Spiders. The rest is up to you.
Starco
Starco is a modded boss that spawns as the 2nd boss with the rest moved up. It's a big star with 8 smaller stars orbiting it. It will shoot a burst of 3 shots from each of its stars seemingly at random. When a star is destroyed it shoots 4 bullets in a plus shape. This includes when it dies so watch out if there are many stars remaining.

Strategies:
  • Epsilon: Get Piercing and shoot through the stars.
  • Bastion: Torrent.
  • Nyx: You can ignore the stars as long as you have some multishot.
  • Zephyr: I have no idea how you're supposed to do this as this character, disable the mod before playing with them.
  • Smiley: This boss is a joke as Smiley because the cursors just go past the stars.
  • Honey: Use Drain. The boss will get stuck in your honey while both Honey and Drain are dealing damage to it through the stars until it eventually dies.
  • Bubly: This boss is a pain. Just try to get it near the corner of the screen and hit it with soap. I have no better advice.
  • Kevin: Bombs can hit Starco through their barriers, which trivializes the fight. Watch out for the desperation attack, though.
Prism
Prism is a late-game modded boss, coming as the last boss unless you also have starco on, in which case it will be second to last. It consists of a core and a bunch of orbiting prisms.

During its first phase, it will spin one of its outer ring of prisms before launching it at you. The prism will return shortly after. Break one of them and it will fire a 'revenge laser' almost immediately afterwards. It appears to be predictive, but it's so large and comes out so fast I don't know how to dodge. Keep moving and change direction, I guess.

Once it's down to its central three prisms, it will start shooting lasers directly outwards. The revenge lasers still fire, but they appear to fire in the direction of the destroyed prism. It will also occasionally teleport.
Once all of its prisms are broken, it will just chase you and occasionally teleport.

This boss can take a while, so God help you if another boss spawns in before you're done with phase 1. Especially if it's Miasma, then the Prism will be enhanced to teleport like a maniac.

Strats TBA.
